I'm at the cape for today's shuttle launch.

It's 2pm now and about 3 hours to launch. The crew has made it to the launch pad and is now getting strapped in for the ride.

the weather is great and NASA is still saying 80% favorable. there could be a few showers around, but the seabreeze is picking up and should blow anything inland.

I'll check back in and try to give more updates, but for now the clock is still counting down and we're a "go" for launch at 5:02 p.m.

2 hours to go and everything's a go.

The crew is in place and the hatch is now closed.

one hour to go now. you can read more blogs from out here from our friendly "NASCAR GUY" one of web producers who is at KSC with us. he's probably a better writer than me anyway.

I went to titusville and saw it -to be honest was a bit dissapointed- we have a better view from our balcony in Oviedo- we heard a small rumble for a few seconds and that was it.

and the crowds !!!

next launch-my balcony- binoculars, and a cold one !
