In speaking politics with a friend yesterday - an interesting theory was posed.  We know our economy goes in cycles - we are up and down pretty much every 10 years and we are in the right time frame for it to happen again.  However - our percentages of loss in the early 1990's across the board for unemployment - the DOW going down - a phenomenal gas hike as well - among many other things were at a higher percentage then - than it is today.    Even if the stock market crashed - the U.S. can still survive as we have to continue to live every single day - go to work - go to school - etc. - still having an exchange of money.  So why the fear? Is it because the media tells us to be afraid? Do we give in that easily to doom and gloom?  We could not fail like we did in the 1920's - as during that time - technology and industry was very limited - no where near what it is today.

How many of us realize that we are hypnotized my the media and feed into every little piece of negativity and then all of sudden the U.S. Citizens want to become a lynch mob because we refuse to see the whole picture?    We have become processed Citizens no longer being able to assess the truth for ourselves any longer.

How about a theory that President Bush is "INTENTIONALLY" ruining our economy right now for our Nation to be in a better place 2 years down the road?

Our Nation is loosing it's "Superiority" over other Nations.  There is too much money flying around throughout the little Countries who are starting to thrive and not be so much dependent on the U.S. any longer - therefore dealing with other Countries causing our dollar value to fall and causing our US Nation not to be on top where we used to be 15 - 20 years ago - or should I state Superior to others.   How about the other Larger Nations - take for instance China?  China used to work and not want for anything - now however - they have learned they can work and have a good life as well - therefore many of them are buying more vehicles and more materials things just like us Americans and are actually becoming a more thriving Country to deal with.

Because the other Countries tend to follow what the U.S. does - if our stock market crashes and our economy goes bust - then the other Countries are sure to follow.  That would leave many of the smaller Countries in trouble again and some larger ones as well.    Yeah our economy can go bust - but our American History has shown that as we grow with technology - we can pull out of a recession faster than any other Country.  It would take us 2-5 years - as to where it would take closer to 20 for most other Countries.  While the other Countries are scrambling to bounce back - In the meantime - our dollar will become - more valuable - and since we can come out of a recession faster - our U.S.  will once again become a Superior Nation - 2nd to none!   So if President Bush has to be the fall guy per say to bring our Nation back - then he shouldn't be impeached - he should get a medal! My friend works in the political field and after hearing his theory of what is happening - makes really good sense and I thought I would share this with you.

After reading this proposed theory - what are your thoughts on it?

I agree with that proposed theory! And the mention and talk of Bush getting impeached...oh please, give me a freggin break! The man isn't going to be around much longer anyhow so what will that solve!

Even though this theory may seem sound...the real quest will be in who sits in the chair this next go round because everything can take a turn for the worst again over the same kind of greed that has gotten us here in the first place!

...You have a friend that can keep up with your political conversations? I'm jealous.

So...you're theory is that if the US goes belly up, others will follow and we'll live in a...very bad world? That sucks.

Mention of Bush getting impeached does leave me laughing and shaking my head at the mentality of our U.S. lynch mob. Sadly - whoever sits in the seat the next 4 years will have no say in the matter anyway. Our economy will not get worse - actually if anyone ever watches the McClaughlin Group on Sunday mornings - we will find we are right on time and will pull out of this problem by the year 2010 - it has already started. If one does any type of research - one will determine that in the early 1990's we went through the same thing - did the same complaining - but pulled out of it and everyone has been happy until the cycle comes at us again and 2004 (roughly 10 yrs from our previous economic disaster) was the beginning of what was to come to be our economical problems today. If we look back into 2004 - it can be determined that the Government did try to stop it - but the U.S. Minority American Citizens won out - so whose fault is this really - it's our own.

I believe as US Citizens we will never know the details or the - ins and outs - of how our Government operates and because the whole world is involved - it's a little more complicated than we give our Government credit for. I believe we all think - hey "just do it" and be done with it. But really we have to take a step back and think for a moment that we have to have the bad along with the good - if everything and everyone was thriving and prosperous - what would we then have? We would have a One World Nation. There would be no more separated Super Power Nations to have to worry about. But until then - so we do

There would be no more separated Super Power Nations to have to worry about. But until then - so we don't loose our Strong Hold position in the World - our U.S. has to bring our economy down in order for us to rise again and be taken seriously by the Countries we deal with.

The Government doesn't control our greed - only the U.S. Economy to control our wasteful spending and our wrong financial decision making that we do to ourselves. We got ourselves in this mess and because we are so processed with the mentality of children - the Government helps us out - but it's never good enough. Just look at when we starting screaming about the foreclosure issues - well the Government answered by lowering the interest or sub-prime rates - so those - the key words - who can qualify - for a refinancing with the banks can have a 2nd chance at their home. What we have to remember is that these people were renters to begin with and their income dictates that they will always be renters - so therefore - they didn't get the help to live in a $250,000.00 home on an $8.00 an hour income. The banks were right to say no - why should the banks bail out people who made the wrong decision to go with defrauding mortgage lenders who would do anything to close a loan with the promise one could easily refinance in 5 years. These people knew that - why do we think all of the homes were left empty? These people didn't care - they came from apartments to live the good life for a while and have no problems with going back to renting. Why should the banks be made to bail out these people - why

Stand4UrRights read my blog

Why should the banks be made to bail out these people - why should we - that would be a bad financial risk on the part of the banks and for those of us who did not make these bad decisions. Bad investments were made all the way around - that is why quite a few banks have their "investment securities" divisions for sale. I seriously doubt that the large investment companies would be impacted any way - look how many large Corporations file for reorganization and still walk away with millions in their pockets and are able to reopen their doors. I have always believed that with big companies - yep they can choose to reorganize because they have enough money to buy them something we cannot afford - and that is "credit" itself. Why bail out a company when it can close it's doors to reorganize? That's why I believe our Economy was Intentionally brought down. As the United States of America - we are loosing face quickly.

So with that in mind - did we thank the Government for coming quickly to our aid and lower these rates or do we - the U.S. Citizens ever realize that nothing the Government does really makes us happy? As our parents have taught us - have we ever said a Thank You - for the things the Government does - or do we continue to cry just because we still have work to do ourselves - don't want to work - and just want the Government fix everything for us and hand it to us "problem solved" on a silver platter? Yes the Government gave us a quick fix on lowering the rates - but it wasn't the Government's fault for the investment companies who took advantage of it a

but it wasn't the Government's fault for the investment companies who took advantage of it and defrauded the economy even more. These are the people who should be - Impeached - from their positions - and do jail time on top of that not our current President!

Since the presidential race is always the same every single time - same empty promises - haven't we ever thought for just a moment that when the candidate who is elected - yes they may have had good intentions - but the first day they sit in their chair to start their work - a "guideline" is slapped on the desk showing only what the President is allowed to see - a guideline that shows the delicate matter of how the US is to really operate - then they realize what has been promised - just will not work?! Otherwise - why is it - every four years the "SAME" old empty promises are made time and time again? And what's even worse - we fall for it every single time!

For those who have been in business for many years - CEOS - all know it's not as easy at it appears. I feel sorry for every President who gets elected into office - because in all actuality they become our "fall guy." Isn't odd how each one going into office looks young and fresh - and by the time they end - they are worn out and just don't care anymore and have an appearance of being aged 20 years? Whatever happen to the Thank You's we should be saying to each one to have the opportunity to wake up with our Freedom every day? We have become worse than the media ourselves. We have painted a picture of gloom and doom - and we have painted a really big

Stand4UrRights read my blog

and we have painted a really big picture - that if the Government doesn't see it our way - then there must be some conspiracy. Some may argue that - but on many of these Blog Topics - I see so many topics that look like copied book reports - I see copied News Reports - 98% out of 100% - copying and pasting what they read instead of pulling out their own thoughts and sharing them. Here's a good question - since we don't trust the media - why is it every time some one posts something that may be of a different opinion - someone is always requesting proof? If it's something we truly believe in and want to discuss as a forum amongst ourselves - then why does an individual have to copy and paste the multiple articles ending up with the same meaning time and time again - that's from the same media we don't trust? Think about it - next time before one considers to write a topic - think about it first - then write about it - or is it that we have become what I have stated over and over again - processed Americans who can no longer think for themselves? We yell at the media - but at the same time we can't live without them.

No matter what party we belong to - Unfortunately the Electoral College knows that a Republican and/or Democrat can be in office for only a certain amount of time anyway. In order to keep the "balance" needed - it has to be this way. I have asked for a very long time - when will the mold be broken to vote an Independent into office? More than likely never - it's because they wouldn't be able to do anything anyway. President Bush couldn't do much becaus

Stand4UrRights read my blog

President Bush couldn't do much because the Democratic Congress kept him at bay - same thing when a Democrat is in office with a majority of the seats being Republican. Each party has to offset one another - therefore in reality both parties are made to meet in the middle for the most part - no matter how radical they appear to one side or the other - when in office - they eventually succumb to being in the "middle."

So whoever gets voted in next month - it really doesn't matter - the next year will be to familiarize themselves with what's going on - the 2nd year to figure out how to clean things up - the 3rd year to start making it look good as if clean up is really happening - and the 4th year trying to get a bill or what I would call an empty promise passed so it looks good for the next Candidate who is going to run for office. We need to look more closely at whom we vote into our Congress - State Senate/Offices - etc. and make these people more accountable for the jobs they are voted in to do. We cannot keep blaming the President for everything that goes wrong in our economy and for our own decision making.

The American Greed certainly has put some heavy blinders on us to really assess our economic certainty. So will we ever learn - I say because history pretty much repeats itself around every 10 years - the answer is No - we will never learn. Only because when things start to turn around - get good for us - we suddenly forget the bad. After all - that is what we humans do best. And nightmare - the theory of most big Corporations is to - step on the backs of the small people in order to become more successful. If we are going to remain a Super Power of Nations - unfortunately how would the U.S. do it any differently? You're right - that does suck! LOL

OK.. I will try to simplify this (tell me if its close)

We are a capitalist society born of a Democratic Republic. With the freedom availed to us comes a responisbility that is just as large, to keep opportunity from becomming greed. When we fail in our responsibilities, the system will eventually correct itself, and natural corrections will keep our capitalist economy in check. The more you impede this natural occurance the longer you hold off the correction, and it inflates.

What we miss is perspective, and the capacity to think critically in the face of a new media that overwelms the citizens with so much data and info that they rely upon others to sort it out for them. We choose those people via elections, but then turn away.

Elected officials are like children in a pool.. you can't just put them in the pool, then walk away expecting all to be fine, and only check back every so often. Citizens have the RESPONSIBILITY to monitor and watch without any lapses. Our education system should be teaching us HOW to watch, and how to process what we are watching! That does not happen.

Stand4UrRights read my blog
Oct 9, 2008 | 6:02 PM

Since our Government has been treating us like puppets for so many years - because we allow them to - why in the world would they want to allow a decent education to be taught in the schools at our tax payer expense - therefore allowing us to cut those strings that tie us all together so Big Brother knows what we are doing all of the time? The less we are "allowed" to know about our economical society and structure - the more processed we become - then the more pliable we are to mold - the less damage control the Government has to worry about. We whine so much about everything - heck I don't blame the Government for tuning us out.

Now we as Americans need to define our damage control towards our elected officials - to me that's making them answer for their lack of - actions and control - that our elected officials have in being able to implement their promises that got them voted in the first place. Just like any business - before we vote - everyone of us needs to educate ourselves about each individual running and not just take them for face value. Then from there - once in office - if they can't live up to their promises and actual job responsibilities - then there should be no wasted time and out they go! Excellent comment Abunai.

Now the only question is how to wean the American People from constantly getting spoon fed and actually stand up to actually be heard and enforce changes that need to be made in the right places. The major part of the problem is that there are educators who cannot teach what needs to be known in the later part of the school years.

Economical history should be in fact taught in our schools - and what budgets are and what they consist of. There is no way to learn everything - but we can have a good start by experience alone - that's if we Americans take the time to "remember." Unfortunately - we don't and I'll be among the first to be realistic and admit that I didn't - when in fact I should. It took what we are going through right now or since the beginning of 2004 to reflect on what happened back in the early 1990's. In fact - it was a little worse then than it is now. Instead of us teaching our children how to live and prepare for the down cycle of our economics - we teach them how to spend more instead - teaching our generations to become more dependent on processed food and materials things. Why do we see so many empty 1 - 5 acre lots with no food growing on them - we complain about the price of food but yet we as Americans do nothing about it as we conveniently go through a fast food drive through.

The other thing economical wise is our spending as well - it is averaging on a 8 - 10 year cycle going up and down. When industries start laying off thousands of people like they did in the 1990's - then that's a time to start worrying. But what I mean economical wise is - take for example - UPS is a Nation Wide Company delivering World Wide - (one of many in place now) - now what benefits us here in the U.S. is when it's time to purchase all new transport vehicles because the ones purchased have worn out - becoming too costly to repair - a slight boom from this company alone happens in the

Stand4UrRights read my blog
Oct 9, 2008 | 6:05 PM

transportation end of it - therefore causing an increase of hiring of more individuals. Now it would take UPS around 5 - 7 years to order and replace all of their vehicles - therefore putting us into a more temporary thriving economical situation. Now do the people save during this time? No because they have already forgotten about the bad times and now live in the moment for the good times. So when the cycle ends again - they suddenly find themselves back in the same boat. Now add in all other industries that do the same thing and one will find us to be booming all over. So therefore we stop complaining for a while.

Even though we have suffered through this housing failure - since it's time for the economical cycle to take it's swing back upwards in the next year or two - as predicated in 2010 - we will come out of this ok - just as America usually does. But when our economy falls - history has shown the other Countries do exactly the same - however take longer to get out of - therefore causing our dollar value to raise. So since many of our neighboring Countries - small and large - are thriving right now - what would be a better time than to control our neighboring Countries than right now? Since we are already in our down cycle - a good scare for them is to think we are going bust on the financial market - therefore by their collapse - America rises. Now is this theory real? Who knows - but after discussing this with my political friend - it's actually a genius plan to put in place to become the America we know we can be proud of and that's to be back as a

Nation - our Nation that every one respects and don't want to mess with! Therefore if these current economical issues were planned by President Bush - then he should be commended with putting a brilliant plan into place and not bad mouthed at this time to be impeached. Wouldn't you agree that most Presidents do their best when it's time or near time for them to end their term?

the other countries will belly up first they are using our funds... helllooooo we borrow and we give.... they spend. why did we borrow if not for ourselves?

Stand4UrRights read my blog
Oct 9, 2008 | 9:27 PM

Actually the majority of the other Countries are in fact not belly up at this time. We have been experiencing economical problems since 2004 - the majority of us have ignored the warning signs - and we are almost to rock bottom - we haven't quite hit there just yet - maybe 6 more months to a year. We are the ones that have done the most borrowing for the most part - more than we should. We have been in a deficit for as long as I can remember. So since - our expenditures or liabilities exceeds even more each year then our income or assets - then it clearly shows we are the ones in trouble and are loosing face quickly.

The American People are considered the most wasteful when it comes to spending. It's just the way we are. I am sure China will catch up with us soon - however they are thriving and are in a better economical position than we are right now as far as individual gain. The Chinese are quickly becoming materialistic as well. England would love to more than likely become a little more materialistic - however they can't because they are taxed to death. Something that will happen to us if we are not careful. So I disagree with other Countries going belly up first before us. We are fortunate enough to be the ones still setting the stage for what is to come. If other Countries were going belly up - our dollar trade value would not be dropping as it is right now.

Today the DOW went down - way down - because people are panicking. This is the 1st time since 1987 that this has happened. What people fail to realize is that selling of all stock investments

Stand4UrRights read my blog
Oct 9, 2008 | 9:29 PM

if not through a broker - should all be frozen at this time or sold through a stock broker. What is hurting the investment securities and causing a drastic down fall is the over night Americans who think that just because they found E-Trade - they are instant stock brokers and know how to play the game. The fact that the majority of people dealing in E-Trade investments over the computers do not know what they are doing - basically just gambling as if they were in a casino - therefore when prices start to dip - they panic and hit a button to sell before investigating what's going to happen next. I believe to have better control over what our stock markets are doing - we should be going back to the older days of where stock broker needs to be involved. If we take away what's being sold through E-Trade - more than likely the drop in percentage is not all that bad. Again - it's Americans doing it to ourselves that are not making the right decisions.

Please don't take this the wrong way - but after reviewing your comment - I see just how true Abunai's last statement was in reference to every American Citizen needing to gain more education of how things work and become smart enough to where we can monitor what's going and become a voice in our Government. I - myself - am in need of a lot more education when it comes to Politics - and I do enjoy sharing every ones thoughts on the matter.

overxpozed - did you happen to glance at the world news this evening? It is now just beginning to happen - other Countries are beginning to panic and are starting to follow in line with our economical crisis - and if you didn't watch the news - I will share that some of the comments stated is that it will take years to recover - don't you find it interesting that this theory is falling right into place. Take a moment to investigate into what's going on in Iceland right now and see the seriousness of the matter that just took place today. Iceland will now have to depend on a stronger Nation for survival. And it's only the beginning. It's interesting my politician friend discussed this theory with me yesterday before the news starting breaking and before the DOW was shown to fall as much as it did. As I stated before - we are setting the stage for what is to come

The other scary thing to think about is right now - Iraq - is not affected just yet and I have to wonder - why? Here's another question - what if the bailout money came from Iraq? How would we ever know? Now that right there would be some conspiracy in action. I smell a Grammy winning Movie coming our way to be shown in 2012. LOL. The below goes to show how weak our dollar was getting and how others were raising.

Prime Minister Geir H. Haarde said in a press conference today that to avoid the catastrophic weakness of the Icelandic krona damaging the workings of the economy outside of the banking sector, the Prime Minister has given the Central Bank permission to pin the foreign exchange rate at 175 points; meaning a euro now costs 151 kronur instead of yesterday’s record high of 230, and all other major currencies have been similarly affected. It is widely agreed that the swift collapse of the currency was a danger to the whole economy and was gravely under valued.

The other major news is the revelation that Iceland is in the process of negotiating a large euro loan from Russia and will send a delegation to Moscow today or tomorrow to finalize the details. Prime Minister Haarde said in his press conference that the money from Russia will be used only to support the economy and ensure stability, and will not be loaned onward to commercial banks.

Kaupthing remains entirely independent, but is working in close cooperation with the government and other banks to ensure the whole country is pulling in the same direction. The bank did however receive a EUR 500 million loan from the government today.

Here's what I think, Barack Obama entered electoral politics as a member of a radical marxist group aimed at gaining control of the Democratic Party in order to implement a hardline version of socialism in America. He signed a contract promising to maintain a visible relationship. The candidate should be pressed by McCain/Palin to reveal that contract and proclaim his adherence to New Party goals before the American people approve him for our highest office. - American Thinker

Very good blog and some good thoughts and contributions. The developing countries are where the real growth has been for some time and China is actually considered a second world country and not a third world or first world country. They are busy trading and developing relationships all over the world and seem to be acutely aware that "force" no longer works for the long term. Good foreign relations are extremely important in the global economy.

Russia likes to get our attention, but they are no longer the threat militarily or economically that they were as the Soviet Union. Putin is a left over relic who will fade with time.

GW continues to pile up issues for the next president to deal with. Today's news about the government plan to auction off spots at major airports is an example of the turmoil that awaits the next president, since it isn't scheduled to begin until January of 09.

CynPro - if people are taking what they can to ensure the privileges of their children - Then I am a rat - and all of the U.S. Citizens are rats as well - as we all want to ensure that our children and our children's children live a better life than we do - that right there is nothing new for both sides of the Parties. And if McCain ='s more Bush - willing to make sure we still have the Freedom to ensure - we can make it better - for our Children and our Children's Children - then McCain has my vote. Something tells me CynPro that you have not done any of your homework and that you are a very impressionable young individual who goes off of the face value of what people say instead of what people are capable of doing. My advice - before you continue to put McCain and the Republican Party down - do your home work - because in reality - as much as I hate to admit it - the Democratic and Republican Parties cannot exist without - each other.

Sipedo I agree with you - however I also believe that certain information is too complex for the American People to digest. And because of that many have become processed individuals that they are willing to believe the 1st thing they see and read - being so lazy as to not take the time to investigate for themselves on what's going on in our Country. That's were I keep reflecting back to Abunai's excellent statement - we need to take the time to monitor who we put into office! However - laziness - I think that's what the Government is counting on. So regardless of any under handed deals Obama may have in the works - I don't think he would be able to complete any of his promises should he get into office. With Obama - he has so many "favor's" floating around - "favor's" being the price for votes for him - that should he get into office - he will be two busy taking care of those favors once they are all called on. Everyone is looking at Obama as - change - well that's a little rhetorical because either Party will represent change. Change either way is inevitable because the U.S. Citizens will be making that change and the Parties will be taking credit for the changes we make. We are going to be coming out of our economical slump - only because we ourselves are survivors and guess who the media will give credit to for that change? Yep - we are so conditioned that we will be willing to let either Party who gets elected take the credit for our work.

I agree with you on China and that's why I believe there has to be some control on the growth of our Economy that will affect China's - otherwise - China will become the number 1 Nation - with us dropping to 2nd. I see a fight for first place coming up and for some reason I just can't shake the notion that we will be in the middle of a 3rd World War sooner than we think - possibly in our life time. I only hope I am incorrect on this!

I came across this topic and wanted to share my response here as well - topics like these are exactly what I am trying to make reference to - us - choosing to have our own lack of Freedom by using our own Voiced Opinions - but instead many choose "book reports" from chosen authors to - brain wash - people.

I am not for the Democratic Party - however - we as individuals will not be taken seriously if all we do is quote from some one else's topics. We are doing what the Government expects when bloggers are doing exactly what you are doing - becoming mindless individuals - that are processed to the media's way of thinking. What the Government does not want us to do - is to learn to think for ourselves! That is why I would love to see individuals stop quoting "book reports" to start a Blog Topic with - when it comes to Politics and start using what we were born with between our ears. Everyone needs to open their minds to discuss what they feel or think - not quote from what other minds are thinking - because in all actuality - many of these News Articles taken from the Internet are nothing but Radical Liberals - people who cannot think nor survive in reality to begin with. And if that's the case - why should we quote what they have to say?

The other thing to keep in mind is - we may not have any control - of who is going to get into office this time. History does show that we had two Republicans back to back - one for an 8 year term and one for a 4

The other thing to keep in mind is - we may not have any control - of who is going to get into office this time. History does show that we had two Republicans back to back - one for an 8 year term and one for a 4 year term - then the Electoral College had to balance out by changing the course to put a Democrat into office. This year will be anyone's guess right now - the only thing to remember - if McCain makes it in now - WE ARE SCREWED - then after the next four years because then our hands will be tied as a Democrat will be chosen to office! Who do you think the next Democratic Candidate would be? This individual could be 10 times worse than what we think of Obama.

So all I have to say to my fellow Republicans - be careful - for what you wish for now - could certainly destroy our chances in the near future!

It is not wrong to take enough, but not all,
not the best of everything, leaving nothing
for everyone else. Of economic system favors
the rich, asumming they will allow a fair amount
to trickle down to their employees, but that has
stopped. The gap between CEOs and average workers
has raien from the average CEO earning roughly
ten times the amoung of their workers, to the
point where now, the average CEO takes over
a hundred times the amount they pay their workers.
And when they move jobs overseas, our nation
faces high unemployment and a higher crime rate.

Cynpro - you are right on some of the things you have stated - but the way you have stated it clearly shows you have chosen to become a blind Democrat with a blind dash of a Radical Left Wing or Liberal way of thinking and that in itself is not good for anyone in our Nation. You are almost along the lines of being in favor of Communism. Are you blaming those who choose to do well for themselves to be a fault for those who chose to do nothing but to live off of the "free give out's" of our Government? In essence what you are agreeing to is that the Government should take everything from the - hard working society - society that is rich in means - take it all from them and redistribute everything to those who have chosen to take short cuts in life or to those who choose not too work hard at all! So then why should anyone pay for an education that can get them somewhere in life or work hard in life to be comfortable in life - when we have individuals like you that want to take everything away from people who have more than you? Everyone else then should just become commoners and not do a damn thing. So much for those who have given their lives for our Freedom.
Sorry - but your level of thinking does not work in our society today - it never has and it never will. Haven't you ever studied why Communism failed? Take the time to do so and you'll understand why. Companies going overseas is not the fault of the President - it's the fault of the Officials - WE - have elected to our Government. I am guessing today's individuals growing up are in deed severely lacking in t

Truly annoyed - well I need to update this as I have found some really good people to debate with on this site - so to correct myself - it's not so annoying after all. :)
