U.N. authorizes peacekeepers to Darfur

Given this recent development at the U.N. (it’s about time); let me AX a question that has been nagging me for a long time.  The political Left in America has been urging the President to send troops to Darfur, (remember the commercials & Hollyweird crowd)?  I find this paradoxical given the fact that the Left is constantly whining that Iraq is a civil war, when clearly the situation in Darfur is a civil war.  Thoughts?

My thoughts exactly Fresh. Iraq is the old fashion and Darfur is the new "in thing" for the "hollywierd" crowd.

Good Question. Perhaps a lot of people feel that Iraq was a mistake on our part and that we shouldn't be there. This may be illogical, but on an emotional level it makes sense.

If the UN is as successful there as everywhere else they have been, we will be there next to clean up their mess.

The US has a committment already in Iraq and Afghanistan. Being that America is not the sole member of the UN,I think someone else can pick up the tab.

I still like Glenn Beck's plan -- to turn the U.N. Building in NYC into a giant, multi-story COSTCO!

Is any of this motivated by Angelina Jolie and her imput at the UN? I think this is a fine opportunity for the FIGHTING FRENCH to show the way !
