..A culture of cronyism and incompetence has pervaded the federal government since President Bush took office, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told the Monitor yesterday. In a speech scheduled to take place at St. Anselm College in Manchester this afternoon, Clinton will outline a series of proposals designed to restore voters' "faith in government." "There's been such a deterioration in our expectations about our government," Clinton, a New York senator, said in a telephone interview yesterday, on the eve of what her campaign is billing as a major policy address. "We cannot remain a strong leader in the world, nor can we tackle our challenges at home . . . if we don't have confidence that our government can actually perform." Clinton reeled off a litany of what she described as recent government failures: the handling of Hurricane Katrina, no-bid contracts going to private companies for work in Iraq and the outsourcing of work to expensive contractors. In the past six years, the number of private contractors working for the government has increased by 2.4 million, Clinton said....

This just an excerpt of the litany of complaints about the Bush Administration spouted by Shillary this past week, but I was particularly “riled” with her propagation of the lie about Haliburton (KBR) and no-bid contracts in Iraq. *** HYPOCRITE ALERT *** KBR has been a DOD contractor dating back decades, (BC – Before Cheney). Anyone remember Kosovo? It seems that another President’s administration used KBR with exclusive contracts for logistics and construction projects along the lines of their current role in Iraq…….Oh why can’t I remember his name?? It’s right at the tip-of-my-tongue! I think it starts with a C, yes that’s it: President Clinton! First and foremost, there is probably no other firm that can fulfill this mission, but there’s more to the story – read on!

And don't get me started on the Katrina lie...Take a look at Mississippi -- they're taking care of business, while Charlie in the Chocolate Factory (Nagin) and Guvnah Blanco blame each other & FEMA......It's going to be fun to watch Shrillary debate Bush during the election cycle!  (Shhh....don't tell her he's not running again)!

That whole Katrina thing annoys me. What ever can be said about Jeb Bush he called Florida at State of Emergency before the forst raindrop fell or the winds ruffled a leaf. Local and state goverment failed those people, BUT they also failed themselves. Is that because they were used to Uncle Sam stepping in and saving their butts? People need to take responsibility for what the do, including who they elect and re-elect.

I was enjoying your blog until you apparently had difficulty with the issues and had to resort to name calling. You aren't part of the Christian moral majority are you?

As far as Haliburton, was Clinton ever the CEO or did he even work for them? As I recall, Cheney did, which could be one of the reasons for additional scrutiny being exercised....trying to avoid any appearance of impropriety.

New Orleans and Florida, what a difference in places and events. And of course the fact that Jeb Bush is the President's brother didn't hurt much did it? Talk about having federal resources, advice, etc. at your fingertips.

Hillary is not my favorite candidate, but if she is so bad why do so many Republicans pay so much attention and lip service to her? If she is so bad she obviously doesn't stand a chance and there is no need for bashing. It makes Republicans look weak after having learned the defensive counter attack technique from a weak administration.

Was your question rhetorical? Look anyone that reads my BLOGS knows that I'm a partisan, (was I not subtle enough)? I think my criticisms were reasonable, given her sheer hypocrisy! The Haliburton "lie" has been shoved down our throats and of course, the Katrina folly impeaches the partisan media. I will agree that FEMA dropped the ball, but their role is SECONDARY to the State/Local role. Oh pahleeze, don't give me the "Big Brother W" took care of Jeb story! We learned a great lesson after Andrew and the State and all its counties are prepared.. In fact, Florida is the ONLY state that has been certified by FEMA as "emergency ready." Florida's leaders understand the risks -- apparently New Orleans didn't comprehend that a city below sea level with a poor system of levies might be a concern....

I presented the FACTS and yes, I slammed the "Shill," because she's getting a pass (coronation?) in the MSM. Didn't she say she would NEVER defund the troops? Did you happen to catch her vote last week? The "Shill" is carefully walking a tight rope, trying to look like a moderate, but winking at the extreme left. She's the designed front-runner and won't get any of the scruitiny that all of the REPUBLICANS and even her fellow running mates will enjoy... Look at how all of the DEMS ran away from FOX.

I'm sorry if I came across as defensive, I had intended to be OFFENSIVE. Perhaps we should continue debating Hillary's campaign, since I'm apparently disadvanted due to my "difficulty with the issues..."

Hillary doesn't have a chance at being president, so why pretend? We need a real candidate! If you look at it, they are all blaming somebody else for all the problems, but none of them have their own answers Mrs. Spectre. And neither do you. Hind sight is 20/20. Do you have answers? Or are you just putting people down because it's so easy to do.

Mrs. Spectre? Wow, I'm hurt and I bet your grand-ma wears combat boots! How juvenile!First of all, Hillary has a VERY good chance at becoming the President, if you think not, you aren't paying attention. There is a large pool of women, most are non-voters that would vote for her just to vote for a women. I'm not adverse to a woman president -- just not THAT one! Hillary defines the antithesis of integrity -- she'll say anything to anyone as long as she gets their votes. Look at her phony-baloney southern AX-Cent -- she's a SHILL from start-to-finish.... Just like I would do in real life, I fired back at the cheap shot from Shadows. Really if you are going to use tired cliches make certain they fit the argument....!
