Leave it to governemt to come up with such a stupid idea. I can see it now, here is a quote from a person getting ready to get shot. "111  44 444 5 55 6 666 333 2 11 2 11 21 2 222 223  333 333 44  5 55 555 5555 555.................' That translates to "Hello 911  There is a man in my hou......." she's dead. And it only took her 19 minutes to send that portion of her failed message.

I think that while they are developing this system they should also make it possible to apply for medicaid via texting. I'd bet $500 that 90% of the people on medicaid have a cell phone with text messaging. What a messed up place this has become.

First, that doesn't translate into anything meaningful.
Second, most kids today can do that message in under 19 SECONDS.
Text messaging should be an option for 911. The problem is how long before it is read?
All you need to do is connect to 911 and they will have your location. I don't know if that will work with TM.
There would not be much problem to set it up, but monitoring the messages would need work.
I was in Operator Services in the 1990's. At that time Medicare switched over to Touch Tone service with no operator. I got a lot of calls from retired people who still had Rotary and couldn't call. OS doesn't have TouchTone, so I couldn't help!
