LOTS of Whiskey and alcohol products/cheap is good

LOTS of Tobacco Products/cheap is good

LOTS of bar soaps and shampoos/over-the-counter medicines/toiletries/cheap is good

Except I'm pretty sure if Martial Law is ever declared, one of the acts that goes into place is collecting peoples personal stashes. No hoarding.

Keep that in mind.

Personally, I don't have enough room to store a year+ worth of stuff. I'll be s.o.l.. Tho I've read a story or two about those w/serious means are moving out of the city and preparing well-stocked retreats. But we've always had people like that. Heck, our politicians are all assured a nice comfy spot underground. That we've paid for and won't have access to.

Let us hope sanity prevails and so does the availability of toilet paper. hmmmm... I could stack that in the garage....

Have a TurdfulTuesday!

Can you say "turdful" here? Out here in the sticks we got ourselves a half acre. Gonna do some planting real soon.

TP..never thought of that. Old timers used corn cobs and Sears & Roebuck Catalogs...even those don't exist anylonger.
I got an acre...if anyone wants to help with the hoeing then be my guest.

Here's a safety tip for y'all. Do NOT try to make a Spam omelet. It just don't work.

An afterthought, do NOT prepare escargot in the Microwave; they explode and the clean up is labor intensive.

Have a nice day!

You want us to all help you Hoe?

Does that make us all 'BLEEP's?

If so, what's the pay scale?

Hey, spam is great if you slice it thin and fry it cripsy.

I just stopped putting money in to my 401k i don't know if it is a good move or not but before Obama comes to power I might just want to get some larg capacity magizines and a new Ar-15 before they are outlawed. I had better go out and get some new gas masks just to be on the safe side.
as an American I have never been more scared for my country then I am now.

Well if things keep going the way they're going I guess I'm gonna have to go back to my farm girl roots and start growing my own fruits and veggies again. As a child we NEVER bought the first thing out of a can cause we grew it all. My grandaddy could grow anything that would come out of the ground and so being a farm girl was fun for me. Starting to sound even better all the time. Where's my rake and hoe??

Janice, I posted something on your prayer blog. Not to be off topic here, but I have kept you, Madam Pres and Welshstaff in my prayers.

That's another thing that people forget. A lot of folks are struggling just to maintain their health, to care for others and now this financial debacle on top of it all...

Randy... at least you and I have guaranteed jobs... for this year. I have begun to stock up on things. The new Tampa Trib makes for great TP! It's the only thing it is good for.

Randy and Pastor... the cheapest meal I used to make was fried chicken hearts, gravy, and rice. Fed the family of 3 for under $2. That was in the 70's. Can't find chicken hearts anymore.

winter garden started
money hidden in the mattress
cast nets and rods all repaired
absolutely NO STORAGE in a 1936 cracker house, so I'm not too sure what to do about TP... LOL

Seriously, I was talking to a customer today and he admitted that he was scared. He was telling me that he was old enough to have vivid memories of the Depression and he feared he would die during another one. I am watching my work fall farther and farther closer to red and hopefully Stone Crab and Roe season will bring in some much needed money, otherwise I fear I will be out of a job within the year. Same with my husband's job, as a Captain on a Head Boat, he only gets paid when enough customers want to go out... He was in dry dock for almost a week.Yet, I keep telling myself, I have a roof, my bills are paid, and there is food on the table (Although I am a bit sick of grunts and would rather sell them at a dollar a pound and buy cheap hamburger.)
And I am still working for my good kharma, I do my little things that benefit those who are worse off then me, because I know, even when things get REALLy bad, there are poeple out there in worse situations.....

PS- no matter how bad it gets, I might do Spam but I still won't touch the canned sardines.

Stock up on any canned meats you can... Spam, ham, tuna... and even sardines '-) Pile up the Tampa Trib... great toilet paper according to my cats! (especially the newest version of it.) I remember my mother telling me of how the Great Depression effected her... and she was living in France or Germany at the time. My dad was only 2 years old so he didn't have any memories to share with me. Truthfully, I am scared. I am an older woman who bought a condon last year and a new car a few months ago... before the s*** hit the fan. I do not curse... unless I am afraid or really upset... in this case, I am both.

Among other things to stock up on, ammo for your guns and rifles, because if Obama gets in there, you won't have them anymore. The worse case senario would be that you can use them to go hunting with especially if you aren't able to grow your own food.

Grew up in the good ol' 50's and 60's. I am opininated, sappy, sentimental and love my Country..but hate where it is headed (socialists scare the bejeebers out of me). I want to retire but can't afford to do so. Love the outdoors. Believe in right to carry arms for protection and sports. Married to a wonderful guy that knows the way to my heart is buying me a load of potting soil from the rock and gravel man.
