The deadline for voter registration is upon us.  If you haven't registered you can't vote.

I have been watching the media reports of the campaigners out there registering voters door-to-door, I have been watching them bus people to campaign functions in Ohio and give them some freebies then sign them up.  I have seen the most amazing interviews  with people who have never voted.  I am not talking about the young squirts or even those young ones not yet over the age of 30, I am talking about people in their 40's, 50's and even in their 80's.   I saw one lady, about 80 something ,saying she was going to vote to save her SS.  Save her SS?   That old scarecrow has a lot of nerve. Who has been looking out for her all these years?  Apparently it has been ok because she could have cared a rat's ass about it.

Who needs you lousy lazy Americans now?  If you haven't cared for your Nation in all these years who needs your vote now? You are always the ones that are first to complain yet you NEVER EVER bothered to take your butts to the polls before now. Guess what ! I bet you even register this time and find it way too much trouble to vote.

The media has been out there advertising this, the county has aired ads advertising this but you know some dumb arse is going to show up on election day and want to vote.

And while I am on this subject...I hate VOTE EARLY and I hate VOTE BY MAIL (unless you are overseas or confined because of illness) , there again...too damn lazy to get up, get dressed, hold your head up and go to the polls and cast your vote.  I don't know if anyone is like me but I like going to the polls, it is sort of a refreshing free feeling that always comes over me.

Well said. But let's not forget that one also has the right NOT to vote. I feel this takes away their right to complain.

Of course you have the right not to vote...but c'mon...there is not an excuse for being over 40 and never registered and never voted in any election.

Ask most people and they'll tell you they have never registered to vote because they don't want jury duty! Until they pay jury members a regular day's pay, or abolish the link between voting and jury duty, most people will skip it.
Sadly though, jury duty is....well......your duty.
Not paying higher taxes like Biden says it is!.*lol*

I have voted in every election since I turned 18 so you all can blame me for all our ills.*lmao*

BTW, they get the jury duty list from drivers licenses now...not voter registration. At least that is in Florida; don't know about other states.

I think most states still use the voter rolls but most people still think you get jury duty from registering to vote too.

Grew up in the good ol' 50's and 60's. I am opininated, sappy, sentimental and love my Country..but hate where it is headed (socialists scare the bejeebers out of me). I want to retire but can't afford to do so. Love the outdoors. Believe in right to carry arms for protection and sports. Married to a wonderful guy that knows the way to my heart is buying me a load of potting soil from the rock and gravel man.
