Susan Atkins. Remember her?  She was one of the Manson followers that murdered Sharon Tate. She was the one that sliced Ms. Tate's pregnant belly open and stabbed the unborn child and then took the blood and wrote on the walls. Yeah, that is the monster I am talking about.

Susan Atkins got her death sentence overturned years ago by the Supreme Court and has languished for years in the CA prison system. Now poor Susan has brain cancer and probably won't live past this summer. BTW she is now 60 years old.  Susan wants to be released so she can go home and be surrounded by friends and family while she dies.

Newsweek article quote. " Susan Atkins claimed that she heard God’s audible voice saying that her sins had been forgiven. Since then, Susan Atkins has led an exemplary life in prison"..

I wonder if the loony left will start picketing the prison for her right to die at home? The Newsweek article will certainly pull at some one's  bleeding heart strings, I'm sure.

Prisoners shouldn't have any rights whatsoever.
Non-violent offenders should only pay fines...
Decision should be based on the trial, no pay means lockup. No rights should be enough reason to stop offending...at least from an educated standpoint.

She should have been put to death a long, long time ago and saved the taxpayers a lot of money. Absolutly NOT. Did she give Sharon Tate the chance to be with her loved ones when she did that horrible deed? Let her rot where she sits.

Until I PERSONALLY hear a voice from GOD saying that her sins are forgiven AND that she should be released as far as I’m concerned,, SHE can DIE right where she IS..

Seems to ME that GOD is smart enough to KNOW that IF he REALLY REALLY wanted her FREE he wouldn't be talking to HER...He'd be talking DIRECTLY to the TERMINATER himself.....

God may forgive her of her sins, but she was sentanced to prison for her savage crimes. Let her rot in prison then send her dead body home to be buried.

Sorry, that's just too bad! If we let her do it, then we'll have to let everyone do it. Lots of people die in prison from a myriad of
things, why should we feel sorry for a someone convicted of committing such heinous acts?

Cant disagree w/ any of you, she committed a crime, a heinous one at that. Sorry she is ailing with cancer but, there was no pity for her victim, and the unborn child.
As they say, you made your bed ...now lie in it.

She took two lives and all that they may have done...caring about what is happening to her now is far beyond me ! This is yet another case for the death penalty , if she had been put sleep like a rabid dog years ago we would not have to talk about her problems now.

She may have confessed and repented. And God may have forgiven her sin. However, that DOES NOT negate the sentence she was given.

The Bible clearly states that WE are to honor the laws that our leaders/government set up. She clearly failed to honor that. Had she followed the law, a mother and child would be home today, and she would not have to worry about where her last breath will be taken.

Perhaps her last breath in jail will be a comfort for the victims family. Perhaps her last breath in jail will be a eternal reminder of God's LAWS! :+(

If she would have recieved the Death Sentice (As she should have), and it was carried out in a timely manner, This would be a Mote point.... Instead
We pay for her food
We pay for her cloths
We pay for he dental
We pay for her growing medical bills
Meanwhile, We cant's pay our own bills.....

Let her die in prison, then tie her dead body to Charles Manson's body so it makes his body rot faster.

Ya know, I thought about it. Seems like she's home already... Most of her life has been in jail. So in reality, THATS HOME.

We all get our cross to carry. This is her burden, her woe. Forgiveness can be given, sadness and compassion for all the wasted lives (murdered and murderer). But she alone must endure her fate. There is no free ride -

Exemplary life in prison - Whos keeping score? I'm sure the victims family FEELS a whole lot better knowing that little tidbit!

I'm sure Sharon Tate would have been able to do many things had she HAD the opportunity. And the tiny baby who was denied the opportunity to take it's first breath. I find myself wondering WHAT this person would have liked to do......... What would they have become???

Seems like Susan should consider herself blessed, at least she will die taking her own last breath. NO ONE stole it from her! :+(

Pastor, that is what someone else said in an article about her, that the Supreme Court overturning her death sentence was "mercy" at its humanly best.

Well, it is entirely possible God has forgiven her sin. The only sin that cannot be forgiven is blasphemy. Which is for a man to claim he is God.

Just because God has forgiven her, if He indeed did, does not mean she should be released from paying her debt to society. Life in prison is life in prison. You get out when you are dead.

This dirt bag should have been exterminated years ago. She should be thanking her lucky stars for that! As for going home to die? Like the Pastor said, she is already there!

Heres a thought, why not bring in the others that are still in prison for this and let them sit by her side for her final hours. I am sure that Charlie and the others aren't busy or anything so it won't conflict with anyones schedule, and she will have her FAMILY and FRIENDS by her side...I call that a win win situation.

I think the whole klan is still alive Frank! And if memory serves me right, I think they all carved swastikas into their foreheads.. nice gorup of people! *rolls eyes* They all should have served their death sentences. I have no mercy for any of them, they all need to die in prison!

They all should have been strapped into Old Sparky, or the equivalent in CA.

The fact that any of them still live is an affront to any law abiding citizen in ANY state!

The death penalty will NEVER be a detterant, if it is never carried out!

Frank, who ever said there is an unforgivable sin? The only one I can think of is if you choose to reject God, that is not forgivable, but there are those who have said that they are God, but have repented, and were forgiven. I believe you are mistaken. Let's fight! :o)

How do you know they were forgiven sippy? If a man claims to be God, he cannot be forgiven, repented or not.

Put up your dukes! And stop looking at me like that!

I have no doubt God forgave her, however that doesnt mean she doesnt have to answer for her sins here on Earth as we all do. She showed no mercy to the woman she stabbed. This is a touchy subject.

I'm sure Sharon Tate wanted to go home too. Sorry, Susan, we can't all get what we want.

Unless, of course, you go to the ACLU and have an army of lawers.

Well isn't that just to sad? NOT! She is getting what she deserves and they should leave her right where she is! This monster had no problem with killing another and has been living for years at taxpayers expense so why does she deserve any rights? What about the rights of the woman she killed? She lost her right to live at this monsters hands so let her die right where she is. She gave up her rights when she took anothers life. Let her suffer. How disgusting!!!!!
