NEW BUCHANAN BOOK DECLARES 'END OF AMERICA'
Sun Nov 25 2007 20:40:15 ET

**Exclusive**

"America is coming apart, decomposing, and...the likelihood of her survival as one nation...is improbable -- and impossible if America continues on her current course," declares Pat Buchanan. "For we are on a path to national suicide."

The best-selling author and former presidential candidate is on the eve of launching his new epic book: DAY OF RECKONING: HOW HUBRIS, IDEOLOGY AND GREED ARE TEARING AMERICA APART.

[The book's release date has been moved up to this week. It ranked #237 on AMAZON's hitparade Monday morning.]

This time, Buchanan goes all the way:

"America is in an existential crisis from which the nation may not survive."

The U.S. Army is breaking and is too small to meet America’s global commitments.

The dollar has sunk to historic lows and is being abandoned by foreign governments.

U.S. manufacturing is being hollowed out.

The greatest invasion in history, from the Third World, is swamping the ethno-cultural core of the country, leading to Balkanization and the loss of the Southwest to Mexico.

The culture is collapsing and the nation is being deconstructed along the lines of race and class.

A fiscal crisis looms as the unfunded mandates of Social Security and Medicare remain unaddressed.

All these crises are hitting America at once -- a perfect storm of crises.

Specifically, Buchanan contends:

• Pax Americana, the era of U.S. global dominance, is over. A struggle for global hegemony has begun among the United States, China, a resurgent Russia and radical Islam

• Bush’s invasion of Iraq was a product of hubris and of ideology, a secular religion of “democratism,” to which Bush was converted in the days following 9/11

• Torn asunder by a culture war, America has now begun to break down along class, ethnic and racial lines.

• The greatest threat to U.S. sovereignty and independence is the scheme of a global elite to erase America’s borders and merge the USA, Mexico and Canada into a North American Union.

• Free trade is shipping jobs, factories and technology to China and plunging America into permanent dependency and unpayable debt. One of every six U.S. manufacturing jobs vanished under Bush

• “Sovereign Wealth Funds,” controlled by foreign regimes and stuffed with trillions of dollars from U.S. trade deficits, are buying up strategic corporate assets vital to America’s security

• As U.S. wages are stagnant, corporate CEOs are raking in rising pay and benefits 400 to 500 times that of their workers

• The Third World invasion through Mexico is a graver threat to our survival as one nation than anything happening in Afghanistan or Iraq

* European-Americans, 89% of the nation when JFK took the oath, are now 66% and sinking. Before 2050, America is a Third World nation

• By 2060, America will add 167 million people and 105 million immigrants will be here, triple the 37 million today.

• Hispanics will be over 100 million in 2050 and concentrated in a Southwest most Mexicans believe belongs to them

Buchanan’s Recommendations:

• A new foreign-defense policy that closes most of the 1000 bases overseas, reviews all alliances, and brings home U.S. troops

• A purge of neoconservative ideology and the “Cakewalk” crowd” from national power.

• To avert a second Cold War, the United States should “get out of Russia’s space and get out of Russia’s face,” and shut down all U.S. bases on the soil of the former Soviet Union

• To reach a cold peace in the culture war, Buchanan urges a return to federalism and the overthrow of our judicial dictatorship by Congressionally mandated restrictions on the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

• To end the trade deficits and save the dollar, Buchanan urges a Hamiltonian solution: a 20% Border Equity Tax on imports, with the $500 billion raised to be used to end taxation on American producers

• To prevent America becoming “a tangle of squabbling nationalities” Buchanan urges: No amnesty for the 12-20 million illegal aliens; a border fence from San Diego to Brownsville; Congressional declarations that children born to illegal aliens are not citizens and English is the language of the United States; and a “timeout” on all immigration.

Hey, I thought that Buchanan was on your side!
You guys just like people who agree with you.
That is boring, but inflates the ego.
There are issues that that I agree with.
He is adament about anti-abortion.
I differ there mostly because no law can cover all the circumstances.
I need a better job, not a vacation.

Not that I don't agree with some of Buchanan's views and ideas, but he's always been a bit on the melodramatic side. Little bit too much "gloom and doom" in my view. I don't think we're quite *that* bad off. Not yet, anyway.

aww, just look up the keywords Amero, and north american union, or even vchip... forget about the opinions just read the facts... everything is running perfectly but with 2 minor set backs. the national id card is not in place yet, and we didn't over throw venezula however ya spell dat lol.

other than that bush had violated the constitution, illegally bypassed congress and the senate signing a treaty with other countires without the american vote or input. it's a fact. He is officially an "ENEMY OF THE STATE". A True Traitor to the Constitution. It's all on paper, and can not be denied.

Personally after finding these documents I'm rather distressed the military has not stood up and arrested him, after all they SWORE an OATH to protect the Constitution, not the president.

post from: the dept of state not cnn

President Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and Mexican President Vicente Fox announced the establishment of the "Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America" in a March 23 joint statement.

Convening that same day in Waco, Texas, for a trilateral meeting, the North American leaders said the security and prosperity of their nations are "mutually dependent and complementary" and explained the impetus for the new initiative.

"In a rapidly changing world, we must develop new avenues of cooperation that will make our open societies safer and more secure, our businesses more competitive, and our economies more resilient," they said in their statement.

The leaders indicated that the North American partnership will work to achieve these ends and "is committed to reach the highest results to advance the security and well-being of our people."

Dept. of state:

Those who support monetary union argue that it would force Canada to make
the necessary structural adjustments that would make it more competitive with the
United States. In other words, dollarization or a currency union would remove the
ability to cushion adverse economic conditions through depreciation of the currency.
By tying the loonie to the U.S. dollar or by adopting the dollar outright, Canada
would be making the unmistakable commitment to converge with U.S.
macroeconomic policy. Then Canada would be able to reap the benefits of U.S.
policy, which traditionally have been lower inflation, lower interest rates, and higher
levels of growth than Canada has experienced. In addition, the savings in trade
transaction costs would be significant for the volume of trade the two nations
conduct.
Canadian opponents of monetary union contend that it would lead to an
unacceptable loss of political and economic sovereignty. Monetary policy would be
dependent on (or tied to) actions of the U.S. Federal Reserve. Thus, the Canadian
government would be left with fewer levers to combat inflation or fight recession.
In a monetary union in which macroeconomic convergence is reached, this point may
not be important. To opponents of monetary union, however, the two economies
respond differently to events, and thus need to utilize different adjustment
mechanisms. Furthermore, with a population and economy smaller than some

prior post discusses the amero dollar between canada and usa.

so, don't think it has been laid out and planned, that is directly from the government.. and ther words 100%. anyone that wants to dispute those words simply needs to go to the dept. of state website... and cry in your own milk. This isn't a conspiracy, it's real posts by the government under the freedom of information act.

Personally, I believe that Pat Buchanan and Newt Gingrich have a lot of good ideas, but then both will on occassion make an extremely ill-considered remark or statement and leave you wondering if it's still the same person.

Don't jump down my throat if I am wrong, but
I don't really remember macro and micro economics, but as an amateur, I would guess that somehow, Canadians would be more at risk with the more volatile American politics and military involvement.
We have much in common with them and some differences. They are more non-violent. There is no other country I would rather see up there. I see them as brothers. Somehow I see all of Mexico on welfare and drowning the rest of us.
I think that separate works. Who knows what any alliance would do.
I remember when the Iranians stormed the American Embassy and took hostages, those Americans on the street went to the Canadian embassy and the Canadians got the Americans out. The next morning's headlines in the Canadian newspapers were "The Great Canadian Caper"
Truly, our brothers.
