Did you hear this one. A drunk man broke into a house thinking it was his but it was his neighbor's house. The homeowner shot him thinking he was a burglar.

What do you think?

Guess he shouldnt have got so dumb drunk he didnt know his own home.

Kudos to the shooter. Everyone needs to shoot intruders like that and then maybee the crime rates will drop off.

I have no sympathy for drunks whatsoever ! The homeowner was WELL WITHIN HIS or HER RIGHTS ! Few if any people are granted an opportunity to question an intruder's reason or intent !

Self defence. The drunk BROKE INTO the house, how was the homeowner to know who it was. The biggest question is did he kill him or is there going to be a court case?

Same thing will happen at my home. I have already warned my kids not to come home past curfew because they know they will be "dead meat".

The shooter had to do what he felt was right. After seeing him so distressed on the news - I wouldn't blame him for suing the guy after shooting him just for some serious mental distress. I guess it's a good thing the guy was drinking - otherwise he wouldn't have made it through. Drunk drivers - or just plain drunks very rarely die - they just kill other people. This was one strange story indeed.

Is the idiot going to be okay or is he taking a dirt nap? Even while drunk, you are responsible for your own actions. If the homeowner felt threatened, he did the right thing in shooting.

Barack Obama entered electoral politics as a member of a radical marxist group aimed at gaining control of the Democratic Party in order to implement a hardline version of socialism in America. He signed a contract promising to maintain a visible relationship. The candidate should be pressed by McCain/Palin to reveal that contract and proclaim his adherence to New Party goals before the American people approve him for our highest office. - American Thinker

You know...I can't help but wonder just how the guy got in! For as late as it was, I would have my doors and window locked so how did he brake in? Plus if this guy had a key and it wasn't working in the door lock....there is some of this story we are not getting!

The one thing that I do get is how easy you can get mixed up when all the places look the same! I think I would have to make something idenifiable to know that yep...this is my place!

So as a Home Owner, I must wait for the guy who broke in to make a threat or do something to myself, my wife, or my kids first?
I don't think so.

Breaking and entering. (Drunk is NOT an excuse)
Home owner feared for his life.
Homeowner needs to make sure criminal charges are pressed, then sue for broken door, and mental anguish.
