Three jail employees who played a part in the mistaken releases of three inmates were given written reprimands in their files.

One of the inmates eventually led police on a high speed chase.

Do you think the discipline fit the mistake?

Why were they in jail in the first place. Did the officers make a big no no or was it a simple mistake? Before answering your question, I'd like to know a little more about the situation.

No I don't think it was enough, I think a nice suspension without pay would have been in order and a reprimand stating any other "mistakes" made would lead to instant termination.

No the discipline is a tap on the back of the hand. Now others figure if they do the same thing ON PURPOUS they will only get the smae tap....maybe to release their friend or accept money to release someone else.

Apparently where you work a mistake is not that important, who care if you don't get any mild sauce with your taco or no cheese on your whopper, working in a jail is a little different, there are numerous checks prior to releasing an inmate, most of the time its a clerical error that has caused the wrongful release.

Well... we won't know if the officers made a mistake until the trial but all four were in jail for serious charges. One was supposed to have $250,000 bond but got released by mistake for $25,000 and ended up leading police in California on a high-speed pursuit.
