I was deeply saddened today to hear that the Tennessee Plowboy Eddy Arnold Died today. Only one week from his 90th Birthday. The man had staying power in the music business with 145 charted songs and 28 number ones (more than maria), As a child I thought his music was for my parents generation, but as I get older I can not ignore the talent this man had with his music  lasting from 1945-1983, and the thing that kept him in it for so long is the total beauty of his voice. His wife of 66 years passed in March, I guess it is true what they say about couples who have been together for that long, one does not live much longer than the other.

Even if you didnt like Country or the "Nashville Sound" there is no denying his true gift. RIP Mr. Arnold...thank you for all you gave us.

He was one of my favorites, right along with Conway, and J. Cash. But there are still a lot of really good ones out there...Josh Turner, Vince Gill, Colin Ray, just to name a few. Josh Turner does the Conway sound really well, and the two tenors in there (Vince & Colin) are my very favorites. Colin does really well on religious country music, and Vince's love songs are excellent. But I will definitely miss Eddie...he has always been one of my very favorites.

Georgies...Jeff Bates sounds like Conway, not Josh Turner. I never cared much for Cash, but liked a few of his songs. but there will never be another Conway...the real king of country music, Strait is just catchin up. And to all the people who still think mariah carey has the most number ones, 55 is a bit more than 18.

I am a 43 year old Father of 4 Daughters, and have been a Contractor in the Central Florida Area for the past 11 years, I have lived all over this great country of ours and still, but I still call NC home. I am a Navy Seabee Vet and was proud to serve my country. I am sick of the illegal immigrant problem in this country and think they should all be deported along with the people who support, hire, and defend these criminals.
