I have personally know the Kalitta family for just about Fifty years.  Watching the kids of Connie (Kalitta) grow up over the years and being a father of boys of Scott's age I don't know what I would do or feel if this tragic loss occurred to my boys.  While viewing the videos of that horrible accident I don't understand the violent explosion upon impact with the sand barrier at the end of the drag strip.  The first explosion seemed to me the result of a supercharger defect.  I do realise that nitro fuel is very powerful stuff but after a 300 mph run and the supercharger explosion there should not be much fuel left in the car to cause such a terrible explosion ending Scott's life.  THANK YOU and Please let me hear your comments.

Scott will be missed. All of the Kalittas are real competitors. Scott did Connie proud.

If you know anything about the Kalitta's, they live wild and free. My hometown is where the Kalitta's made their home for many years. Connie Kalitta is a drunk and a womanizer, and I have witnessed his carrying on first hand. While any death is tragic, horse racing is dangerous, and you get what you pay for. Scott was not anything like his father, and although I feel bad for the rest family, I could never feel bad for the creep Connie Kalitta. He was a horrible father figure. Scott may have done Connie proud, but Connie is not a person to be proud of.
