When was the last time you paid $14.99 for a Video Game System??

I came home today to find a weekly ad from Radio Shack.  While browsing through it, I found out they are selling ATARI Video Game Systems for $14.99!!

I'm sure it is not the 'real' thing as years ago, but WOW!  This brings back memories.  My first thought was:  "Where will I find games for it?"  Well, apparently the system comes with 20 built-in games, including the wriggly "Centipede"!!

This is so awsome!  I think I will go buy one, just for the heck of it!! - LOL

Playtation 3 - $600

X-Box 360 - $400

ATARI - $14.99

Memories ... well ... you know the rest - LOL

I think this is a battery operated system, if not let me know, cause I want one if you can plug it in. I despise having to buy batteries all the time.

Atari is the best. I need to check out Radio Shack! Pacman, Space Invaders, Asteroids, LOL!
I grew up on those games.
I threw up on those games.
I shoved many a quarter into those games!
I hate the new games, they are frustrating as hell! Although I did kick my daughters behind one night when she was here, on some fight game I never saw before. She had bought it awhile ago, and considered herself an expert! LOL!

$14.99? I am there! LOL!

If I remember correctly this thing looks like a controller and plugs into your TV. The games are preprogrammed into the controller and there isn't any way to add more games. My guess is you'll love it for half a day and then it will join the junk box never to be touched again much like Britney Spears.

LOL, Guys and Gal -

I actually went to Radio Shack after work. They didn't have it available and they asked if I wanted to order it.

Hesitated a little ... almost ordered it ...

I asked which store had it available and they said it was available at The Florida Mall.

Dang it! Do I want this ATARI that badly to travel all the way to The Florida Mall??

I'll let you know after I consult the pillow!! - ROFLOL

You can play them online for free. I'm with Jim. Half a day and the nostalgia is replaced by the stark reality of how simple and boring most of the old games were. I haven't bought a system since nintendo came out.

I guess you Guys are right ...

I was still thinking about going to the mall to buy it, but something else happened: A Blown Tire!

So, plans changed. Besides, did you know that myFOXORLANDO.com has a Virtual Arcade available?? Check it out!!

VIRTUAL ARCADE

This should keep me happy!! - LOL

The problem I always had with the old Atari home system, was the controllers NEVER worked right! Press the button, nothing would happen. When I played them on the big machines they had in the bars, (back when I used to go to bars) they always worked perfect, and if you lost there was no excuse.
If Radio Shack has an Atari console, with todays technology, I could finally have a new addiction, and give up blogging! LOL!

LOL, DaytonaFrank.

My controllers ended up being bare. The rubber that covered them basically desintegrated after playing for about a week!! - LOL

Back in New Jersey, my friends and I used to go to the Arcade in the mall. It was a HUGE place with over 100 machines! Those were fun times!!
