While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75 year old rancher, who's hand was caught in the gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Obama and his bid to be our president.
The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle''.
Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, 'When your driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle'.
The old rancher saw the puzzled look on the doctor's face so he continued to explain. 'You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, and he doesn't know what to do while he's up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb ass put him up there to begin with'.

143 DAYS...
You couldn't be a new lawyer with 143 days of experience and become a partner in a law firm.
You couldn't get a job at McDonald's and become district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon.
You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience.
You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience.
BUT....
'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of "experience" in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.
After 143 days of work "experience," Obama believes he is ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World .... 143 days.
We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is...a start.
AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him. We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America?

How asinine the coverage of this has become. This morning on a local TV station, they had "BREAKNG NEWS" bulletin. The "breaking" news??? Casey now has $256.00 in her jail canteen account. Then, to look even more moronic, the announcer followed that up with the statement: "When we know exactly what she purchased, we'll bring that information to you". Newsflash, 2... No one with a LIFE gives a rats a-s-s!!!!

This may have been around a while, but I only now received it.
THIS IS GOOD STUFF...
Since the Pledge of Allegiance
and
The Lord's Prayer
are not allowed in most
public schools anymore
Because the word 'God' is mentioned....
A kid in Arizona wrote the attached
NEW School prayer :
Now I sit me down in school
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.
We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's 'inappropriate' to teach right from wrong,
We' re taught that such 'judgments' do not belong.
We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

Seniors living in a "Senior" apartment complex should be able to feel secure in their surroundings...right? WRONG...and I am living proof. I have lived in my particular complex for 2 years and have made numerous complaints to management regarding security, or more importantly, the lack thereof. Since moving in almost 2 years ago, the requirments have changed and now it's pretty much "senior" in name only. All ages are living here and the quality of life has dropped dramatically. Here's my story... On 6/5/08 at around 5:00 am, I took our trash to the dumpster located on our property. When I re-entered the building, I was assaulted, pushed to the floor striking my head against the door frame, resulting in injuries to my head and neck. Not to mention, my wallet, my gold Masonic ring stolen and my glasses broken. After being transported to the local ER by the EMT's, I was able to return home with a brace supporting my neck. As of this posting, the property manager still hasn't contacted me regarding this. But I digress... Later in the evening on the day of the incident, one of the Police Officers that had responded to the initial 911 call stopped by to see how i was doing and to ask if I remembered any more about the incident. After our discussion, we walked together to the scene and the most glaring security breach was pointed out and demonstrated to her. We then walked to another area of the building where another, "incident waiting to happen", was pointed out. She agreed with me to the point of adding it the original police report...THANK GOD for documentation! In the past when I have stated my concerns regarding the security flaws, my response from the management team was "Oh, we know" or "We've told corporate about it, but there's no money to fix it right now". Not quite sure how to proceed at this point...any suggestions???????
