I know tomatoes are slowly but surely coming back on the menus of a lot of restaurants.

Mickey D's will put them back on the buns in the next week or so.

More than 200 people in nearly 2 dozen states got sick from the salmonella-tainted tomatoes.

Federal authorities still don't know why it happened but they say parts of Florida and Mexico were supplying most

of the nation's tomatoes when the outbreak began in April.

I've been missing tomatoes, but I'm a little skittish.

I know you can't live your life in fear, but what do you think?

Will you say "Hold the tomatoes" for a while, or say

"Bring 'em on?"

Happy Blogging,

Mike

Funny you should ask about this today of all days.. because I'm really annoyed. Bring back the tomatoes already!

I just got back from the drive-thru where I ordered a salad. I was fully expecting tomatoes because the sign on the drive-thru window said, no tomatoes with the exception of the grape tomatoes on our salads. I was thinking.. awesome.. I get tomatoes. Then I get back to the station.. pull the salad out of the bag.. and NO TOMATOES!

I just went grocery shopping yesterday.. and there were plenty of tomatoes. I bought some.. they were delicious... I'm not sick.

If I can buy them at the store.. why can't the restaurants do the same?

My cheek still stings.

I bought some grape tomatoes last week, after throwing out my plum ones just to be safe. :(

It has been killing me too, Amy. At work last week I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with tomato, and they reminded me -'no tomatoes'. Sandwich just wasn't as good without it. And what is a salad without tomatoes!

If they've isolated it to certain types - just buy the other kinds!!! ( And bring back my plum ones soon - grape tomatoes are AWESOME - but they are generally expensive.)

Well Jim, just WHICH cheek did that lucky lady get to smack? LOL
I grow my own 'maters, too! There is nothing like picking one off the vine, still warm from the sun, and bringing it in, cutting into it, and eating it just like that. Green tomatoes are, oh so good, too! Fried, with a little horseradish sauce!

I bought some tomatoes yesterday at the grocery store. I had just bought some when the recall came out, some nice plum tomatoes but I threw those out and when I saw them back on the shelf I felt ok. I'm going to get some planted this weekend and grow my own especially since the price is going to go up and it will be nice to have. I'm starting a garden on a few things actually, should be a fun hobby and rewarding at the same time.

Therapeutic, Ziggy! It will give you a great feeling of accomplishment and independence! There's nothing like bringing in fresh veggies from your own garden to your table!

I have asked what was the fasination with all these tomatoes and she said that they are good for me. She said that sometimed today, there will be a truck delivery of tomatoes so I will have plenty to go around.

Never liked tomatoes, so not really, but I know people who usually eat them are being a bit more careful and some are not even buying them. I like BLs anyway. Not BLTs.

No malice was just trying to add some amusement to the subject. But I guess both you and I are still alive and kicking because I had some tomatoes yesterday too.

Hi everybody, knowledge REALLY IS power. As the 5pm co-anchor/reporter here at FOX 35, I learn something new each day from the people in our community who share their stories, opinions, and experiences. That's why I love journalism, and what we do here at the station. With these blogs, I hope we can learn from each other, share information, and grow from the diverse viewpoints around Central Florida. So, as I'm doing in this picture: sit back, relax, and blog away! Thanks so much, Mike
