This one's for Tom Sussi !  I like the type investigative reporting that you do. So I had a thought / intrest / sugestion for a possible topic , recycling. I'd heard that Lake County's program generates 5 million in revenue. How does Orange County's program stack up against that ? I recall the commissioners talking of possibly burning some recycleables as power plant fuel, but that sounds like throwing money in the fire to me.

With revenue from property taxes down, are there any programs that the county is involved in that have the potential to earn more money ? Not so much as to reduce taxes, but to maintain the level of services provided and possibly find more funding for them without creating a greater tax burden.  I'm a firm beliver that it is far cheaper to learn from the mistakes of others, and more importantly to adopt the practices of others that are successfull !

Any thoughts ?

Great point Meb...one thing we have learned and been shown with OCC is they don't learn and they are spiteful when questioned on their tactics and spending! Unless their pockets can be full, they will continue to make threats on important programs that benefit the people! We need fresh meat sitting in those chairs that are qualified with better knowledge of economic standards and who would serve the people over their own self accounts!

Ah.. come on Meb.. You know that Tom and the rest of the mainstream media types are not going to out any locals that might have liberal/democrat strings.... I'm suprised they don't just close up shop until its time to start defending Obama again...

Unrelated: Tom.. how about a story on NASA Global Warming hacks who tried to report Russian temps as highest recorded in a trend, and THEN some folks did some digging and found that because data for the Month of Oct didn't come in they just CARRIED OVER SEPT. NUMBERS and then reported a record? When the global warming cooking of the books was exposed, NASA hacks just grumbled, and NOBODY is holding them accountable for it!
