Talk Radio Comes Through Again !

Talk radio comes through again ! Yesterday afternoon, I was listening to Clark Howard the consumer warrior on AM 580 radio. He mentioned what I thought to be an intresting and revealing fact. Detroit recorded it's worst quarter in new car sales since 1998. Automobile sales are considered a good economic indicator. But wait a minute, 1998 was a Clinton year wasn't it and the worst until just now.  So the economy has been in worse shape minus George W.

That kind runs counter to the claim that : I had more money when Clinton ( a democrat ) was in office. If you had more money when a Democrat was in office, then why weren't you spending or saving it ?

I love hearing about all of the fine and wonderfull things you think Obama, a Democrat,  is going to do for you. If you were PAYING ATTENTION during his tire inflation/ no offshore drilling speech , he used TWO words to describe the result, ACTUALLY and PROBABLY . Actually and factually are one thing, probably and possible are another.

I believe that should you elect Obama, you will PROBABLY have a vechicle with properly inflated tires sitting in your driveway. I also believe it will ACTUALLY sit there for most if not all of the time because under his energy policy you ACTUALLY won''t be able to afford  a tank of gas !

Sure. New car sales are so much more important as a reading of the economy than say:

the unemployment rate (3.9% the month before bush took office, 5.7% now),
or job growth (the average yearly increase under bush is lower than any President since Eisenhower),
or the stock market (the average per year change under bush, (less than +1% while under the last 3 Presidents it was +28%, +13%, & +16%), is lower than any President going back to Roosevelt, except for 2 - Carter @ -1% & Nixon @ -2%).

WOW - new car sales - really reaching for anything ,huh?

BTW - since another typical excuse is that the Congress is now Democratically controlled (even though unemployment already had increased, & job growth & the stock market had floundered while Republicans controlled Congress under bush), who controlled Congress in 1998? Or does the "buck stop here" only work with some Presidents?

DEOP... again with the numbers? Maybe you should look at GDP from entry and now... I realize liberals will do ANYTHING to not show the staggering growth over the last 7 years, ontop of a war that Democrats did EVERYTHING they could to get us to loose! Doing EVERYTHING they can to block energy independence! All those "green jobs" the left talks about, we could employ all these folks with drilling rigs and oil industry just as well!
Time for america to stop getting their milk for free (overseas oil) and do like everyone else and buy the cow!(get out own oil!)

FloridaBrit... what senseless junk. Us "repubs" know what our poop smells like... its the "Dems" that still think they can hide theirs! Time for Dems to realize that when more than 70% of America wants better energy policy, that includes alot of "Dems!"

You had your day of extorting JUST America with enviromental scare tactics for money... Better either show America why its worth 5 dollars a gallon to save a fish, or get onboard!

LOL the really “funny” thing is that actually reporting on the economy was NOT NEWS for the first 6 years of this administration and only became News after a new “congress of change” got its hands on the wheel ...
DEOP is making up figures again ! Unemployment is currently at 5% and was at 5.5% in December of 99 , but far be it for you to actually use the figures available in the official congressional record when you can just make up numbers that you like! Your market figures are pure idiocy not one of them is accurate ...but that is what happens when your only source for news is Move on . arrrrrg

Enjoy talk radio while you can. When the Dems have control of the White House and Congress, it will be a thing of the past. The so called "Fairness Doctrine" will be passed by Jan 31!!!

They can't stand not being able to control talk radio like they do the press.

These Doomers and Gloomers don't know the difference between what's true and what they WANT to be true..

Notice how they "report" the "bad" news ALMOST as though they are positively GIDDY about it??
They are NEVER happier then when they can cry WOlf and if they HAVE to make it up as they go along...ALL THE BETTER...

You want to talk about Doom and Gloom???

NEVER make the mistake of getting between them and a Keyboard when the newest crock of moveon.org BS hits the Blogs........

Imagine your WHOLE life centered around THIS????

I can see where being a liberal is a lot easier than being an adult , you never have to think for yourself /take the blame for your own actions / face facts when forming your so called “opinion”...all you have to do is Hate : Conservative /businesses / Republicans and chant whatever the media tells you to today ! Being a liberal is a lot like being a sports fan you support your team no mater what and never count the cost or consequence of your action...it is all just “go team” and never ever will this work? Should we do this ? Has this been tried before ?

...and yes the “fairness doctrine” will pass so that far left ideas can be forced on the American public as a mater of law ! Just as illegal immigrants have been forced on this county by a perversion of our legal system . The simple fact that conservative programing is popular enough to support itself proves that the liberal view is a minority in this nation ...but that will not stop the media/collages from continuing their campaign of lies to promote the ideas of ultra liberalism.

DEOP , not reaching for anything. I mearly stated a good economic indicator, not absolute or the only. It did seem to strike a shallow nerve through some thin skin though. LOL ! It was just a plain simple fact. I just countered some of you're Bush ( no matter what the problem ) bashing, no more no less. You're employeement figures are just numbers though without further information as to what job sectors are effected. Anyone who has followed either trade or financial magazines would have noted that since the 80's downturns in some fields are expected and increases in others have been projected. Two of the biggest factors are : fuel prices and credit, neither are Bush's or Cheney's fault.
