If you have Cable or Satellite for your TV channels in which you pay for each and every month, do you know how many of them are included within your packages that are not in English?

With Dish Networks I counted 27 at first but then that number increased as I visited channels that I thought were English but instead were speaking in Spanish on movies that were described in English from the info guide on stations that did not specify the differences (totally misleading).  I speak, understand, and come from an English speaking country….I, by no means speak or understand Spanish/Latin, nor do I care too!  So why force it?

So why am I being forced to pay for channels that are totally useless to me with my hard earned money?

We pay extra for Local channels so why not have that option for those foreign language speaking channels and stations?

I have even thought of disconnecting and cancelling our Satellite all together and go back to using that simple antenna for just the local stations and cutting back our monthly expenses, but then again there is talk that even that will not be a choice or option much longer!

I really hate paying for something that I have no use for or want!!!  And I feel I'm being taken advantage of  when I could have a savings instead of being forced into paying for something I don't want, don't need, can't use, or can't understand.  It would seem they have this all backwards here to me!  Who really benefits from this?

Your Local channels should be included in your packages without any extra charges and foreign channels should be an option just as it is with HBO, Cinimax, Starz, Showtime, Encore, Sports, etc!  We really could use a more sensible break here!

What do you think and how would you feel?  Is this Fair?

I just love to call once a week and complain to the DTV people about this same issue.
Im not living in a Spanish speaking country, so therefore I am not paying to listen to Spanish prattle on my stations that I pay for.

They keep giving me free months when I yell about this problem but they still try to keep charging me for it.

If you want to listen, read, or speak Spanish, then do it on your own time and stop forcing it on us true Americans.

Do you know how many of those english channels you dont watch? You cant really point the finger just at spanish channels. I dont watch CMT,WTGL,HSN,E!,Disney etc. but should I complain for something I signed for and agreed too? Read the contract before you sign it. Its not the company's fault you dont like their package. Its your fault for agreeing to it.

No, its the companies fault for trying to turn America into another Spanish speaking country which its not.
Speak English or get out!

No... its your fault, reality check please. Stop pushing your problems on everyone except yourself. YOU SIGN IT = YOU PAY FOR IT. Maybe insted of complaing about speaking english you should actually learn to read it then maybe you would have less of the channels that you dont want. Take some responsibility for your signature...its a very powerful thing.

Notasteelersfan...that's where you are wrong! I never signed anything nor does it tell you, they tell you, advertize or specify about any channels that are in another language!!! THIS SHOULD ONLY BE AN OPTION seperate from the packages!!! They are only included in the packages because there are so many of them! All those other channels within the packages are more practical and are open for your viewing...so get it right!!! Why pay more for Locals when they can be included into the packages? Funny I don't find any channels in French, Italian, German, or Korean! Gee...I wonder why that is???? If you travel to any other country....in what language do you think all their programs are in...hello!!!

I want everyone out there to demand a German or Galic channel. If Spanish gets one, why cant they?

I get a Chineese and an Italian channel.

Mater lets talk about the most diversey continent on the planet in terms of language. European countries live very close to each other. They had to develope the euro for that very reason. I doubt that France has just all French channels and also consider most people know more than one language in Europe so that is why you may not hear as many complaints there as you hear here.

Now, maybe you should start going to the company directly. You didnt sign anything, as you said, so really the company doesnt have to take channels away. It's their company they do what they want to get the most profit and that includes reaching out to the hispanic community with a package that happends to include spanish channels.

Its your choice to buy and your doing so. You bought it you pay and again I doubt you watch every channel in the package other than just the spanish channels. Dont like it dont buy it.

Its just T.V. anyway. You can get it online if you want (WITHOUT commercials) you just have to now where to look!

Can you imagine if the company said yes to everyone with your coplaint? Everyone would want to save money and would want to pay for about 5 channels and expect to just pay for those 5 leading to a debate on how much should a single channel cost(Leave that to Steve Jobs. ha) costing the company a lot of money.

Yes....I can imagine...it used to be like that...basic was just basic...and one was able to pick and choose...now with these darn packages....YOU REALLY don't have much choice...

What I'm trying to point out is that if they are going to have those foreign channels then they need to have them as an extra purchase cost just like we do on our LOCAL channels...it isn't right to add in foreign language stations in with the package...I don't care what language it may be...it needs to be an optional choice...NOT A FORCED ONE WITH NO CHOICE! It isn't fair nor is it right!!! These channels wasn't included in the packages until last year. I have had satellite since we moved here back in 1999 so the packages have changed and without any reguard or notice or choice!

I have no complaints. I have an antenna, that picks up far more stations than I can watch.

For 100 bucks, I have been free of your aggravation for 2 years now, and counting. The money saved, is amazing.

I recommend this for everyone.

If an antenna cannot bring you enough TV, you are watching too much TV.

So the antenna works for you? Channels 2, 35, 18, 45, and 65 doesn't come in so good for us even with the ears.

I had this conversation with my cable company and I wanted them to only offer me English channels..I did not want to pay for channels I would never watch because I could not understand the language. She laugh at me and said they had no other packages to offer. Since that day I have been looking for a alternative and they all offer the same kind of packages. Theres no way around it but to do without.
