Has anyone been watching Shark Week on the Discovery Channel???

It just started on Sunday and will last all week.

They announce a very disturbing fact which really makes me sick to hear. They say that every year humans kill an average of 100 MILLION sharks and a large portion of them are for "fining" purposes which is when they catch the sharks then cut the fins off and then afterwards throw the shark back in the ocean to sink to the bottom and quickly die. Sounds like a very cruel and painful death to me!!!

Most people think sharks are killers and they could care less if they where here on earth or not. I would have to strongly disagree!!! They are needed on this planet more so than we are, and have been here much longer than us. The ocean makes up most of our planet and sharks have a major if not most important role in the oceans eco system and if we continue to pointlessly kill them like we are than I am almost sure we will have major consequences.

How many humans are killed on average per year by a shark, or even injured?? Not many, and does not even compare to the amount we pointlessly kill each year!!! Also the humans who are killed or injured by a shark are in the shark’s territory and usually are a mistaken attack. Then we also go into the shark’s territory and kill millions of them each year for no valid reason and to put any blame on a shark is just wrong!

It just doesn't make sense, and greatly concerns me that we continue to do this! You cannot say this is "human nature" or "the circle of life" becuase that is far from what is going on!

What do you think?

While hundreds of thousands of eager consumers waited anxiously for the iPhone, most probably didn’t know about the hidden fee attached to their purchase.

Now the obvious question is this: With all the words spoken and written about the iPhone prior to launch, why didn't someone tell them?

The iPhone battery will only survive about 300-400 recharges, the company says. Because the unit is sealed, consumers can't swap out dead batteries. Instead, dead phones must be sent to Apple, where battery replacement will take three business days and cost $79 plus a $6.95 shipping charge. Those who can't live without their cell phones for those three days can rent a spare iPhone for $29.

This pricey, and apparently inevitable, aftercharge never made it into any of the voluminous news stories written and filmed about the iPhone prior to its launch on June 29. Why not?

According to the Foundation for Taxpayer and Consumer Rights, Apple's Web site made no mention of the battery fee on the morning of June 29, when thousands of Apple faithful lined up all around the country to buy the phone, which costs $500 or $600, depending on model.

I find this somewhat interesting; the 2008 Presidential candidates are using Myspace.com for campaigning.

The Democrats seem to be more popular in the myspace community; however the Republican Party is active as well.

Here are a few candidates that have a profile on Myspace (not all of them),

- Sen. Sam Brownback

- Jim Gilmore

- Mike Huckabee

- Duncan Hunter

- Sen. John McCain

- Rep. Ron Paul

- Mitt Romney

- Rep. Tom Tancredo

Candidates also have web video's posted on MySpace, along with YouTube.

What do you think about this new form of campaigning???

This is defiantly geared more for the younger voters, do you think this will make younger adults more active in the elections in 2008, and actually vote?

Madonna is currently working on recording new music with Justin Timberlake.

They have already recorded three songs, and plan to record more later this summer.

What do you think about this duet? This is two huge names in pop music right now, it's almost guaranteed to be big on the charts!

Not sure if FOX 35 has done a story about this yet, from what I understand the information is fairly new.

Has anyone tried the new Diet Coke Plus?

I just tried it for the first time today, it's not bad, has a little different taste than the original. I don't drink that much soda, I usually have one at lunch everyday at most, and by choice I have always prefered Diet Pepsi.

What I like about the new Diet Coke Plus is that it has vitamins & minerals added to it.

This is what it has:

25% Niacin

25% Vitamin B6

25% Vitamin B12

15% Magnesium

15% Zinc

It seems like a good idea for them to do something like this, what do you think, and also do you think this will be around for good, or is it just another one that will be short lived??

Okay, I know I am a few days late posting this, however I must say I was very disapointed with this season's 24. I would say the first half of it was good, then it all went way down hill.

The episode this past week was horrible, and same with the one before. They went the wrong direction with it. Between the president getting better so fast (yeah right) and Jack's un-realistic drama it just makes me want to change the channel. I could go into it much further, but you know what I am talking about.

Last season I thought was really good, and well done.

Now it looks like Jack is going off to China for a big rescue oh I cannot wait... NOT, I think 24 has totally lost it and will be at it's grave soon.

What do you think?

Apple Inc.’s iPhone was unveiled this week after thirty months and millions of dollars in top secret development. But the new iPod-cellular phone could wind up costing the company a lot more.
Cisco Systems Inc., the world’s largest networking equipment maker, sued Apple in San Francisco federal court on Wednesday, claiming that Apple’s iPhone violates its trademark.
Cisco is asking the court to forbid Apple from using the name “iPhone,” which Cisco has held a trademark on since 2000 and used to brand a line of its own Internet enabled phones that began shipping last spring and officially launched three weeks ago.
Cisco said Apple approached the company several years ago seeking to use the name, and the two Silicon Valley tech giants have been negotiating ever since to hammer out a licensing agreement.
But Cisco said the talks broke down just hours before Apple’s chief executive, Steve Jobs, took to the stage Tuesday at the annual Macworld Conference and Expo to introduce the multimedia device.

I was reading an article on Starbucks and what they plan for the future, and found it very interesting!
First of all, Starbucks plans to have more store locations than McDonalds by the year 2011 ! This is very impressive to me being they have only been around since the early 90's!
They say Starbucks is the new place people like to go and is becoming much trendier. Yes, and people do not care if they are paying $5 for a good cup of coffee! (I don't)
Starbucks also plans to have a larger amount of products and also they are going to become more involved in the music and film industry by selling and advertising at store locations.
Larger chains, such as McDonalds and Dunkin Donuts are getting very worried about how much Starbucks is growing and they are making changes to appeal more to the people. McDonalds plans to re-model all restaurant locations through out the country with a more comfortable look with things like softer seating (not the hard plastic seats), flat screen TV’s all over the place, having wireless internet, changing the exterior (the ugly roof style) and a larger coffee menu among other menu changes. They want to become a place to where people want to stay longer, instead of how the founder designed the restaurant... get them in and out as fast as possible!

I love Starbucks, I will say I go allot... but not everyday!
Some people say they cannot live without Starbucks on a daily basis, well actually allot of people do!

What do you think about all this? Will Starbucks be around to stay for a long time or will it become "out of style" in the near future? Also what about McDonalds... do you really think those changed will help them, or only hurt them?

Okay... I have to say for those people who buy those blow-up snow globes, and all those other ones I cant stand them!! I think they are ugly and tacky!!! I remember when they came out a few years ago and thought to myself those will not be around to long!
They seem to be more common each year, and this halloween I had even seen one's in some yards.
Do people put these things in the front yard becuase they are lazy and dont want to hang lights up?
(most houses I see with them do not have any lights)

I had to just let this out... and you will not catch me with one in my yard! Thankfully nobody has one out on my street!!
I feel kind of lucky for that!

For those of you who have them, and like them, I am sorry but if I see them in your yard I will be thinking how tacky it looks... and I am not the only one!!!
