Hey.. remember the commercial with McCain seeing Bush in the mirror.. I believe Obama made it come true, only he is seeing CLINTONS in the mirror..  so much for CHANGE...  we have Clinton this and that...  Obama is appearing to be what I thought..all talk....  now he is gettiing called on it by the media (to little to late) and refusing to say the big words, I LIED!!!!  He needs to just say it...  during campaigns we lie, cheat and steal to get what we want...he threw Hilary in front of every bus...but now feels she is qualified to do more then throw a tea party..  Give me a break...

I notice, he isn't so eloquent anymore...Mr. President elect...I continue to pray for you...and the reigning Clinton royalty....  I can't believe she said yes....I am happy to see the venom has been held back......

Pray for America!!!

One thing I have learned through this election, we have two different Americas these days.  Two different sets of people living under one roof.  What is liberal America and conservative America?  Does one have a stronger patriotic stance then the other.  Does one support life more then the other?  Does one support choice of lifestyle over the other?  Does one support a bigger or smaller government over the other?  Does one still believe in the American dream being a personal accomplish over accomplishment for all?  Why has America split as it has?

I miss the days when life was given precedance.  If abortion wasn't used as a means of birth control,, which is its biggest reason to exist, not rape cases or life threatening conditions, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.  If domestic partners were of a man and woman (as Florida commercials are trying to suggest), it may be acceptable to me.  If our Supreme Court was made of non partisan judges, that held no affiliation, I might believe in them to use sound judgement and common sense in handling our national law.  If freedom of speech still entailed "truth" and decency, never stepping on the freedoms of others, I might be ok with news media and print news..

What I do know is this..  Among the world, America is no longer anything "good"..we are a joke.  A joke!!  We are indecent, scandalous people with no morals, not socially or financially.  We carry the biggest world debt, and we never pay it back.  In America, your credit is everything, yet we ask the world to turn its head on our lack of responsibility like we are above everyone else.  This is a big reason on why "they" hate us!  We hold to no standards, in anything.  The land of the free is just that, free to do and what we please, no matter the consequence.  This is AMERICA not the American government I am talking about.  We still think we are better then everyone else.  I would rather turn back the time..live in a time when it was NOT common to divorce, not common for women to work outside of the home, not common to even conceive of abortion clinics, not common to see men marrying men or women marrying women, not common for teenagers to walk around with 3 kids, not common to own 4 televisions, not common to murder someone and live in a souped up  jail facility for the rest of your life on pending appeals, or in some cases-never having capital punishment carried out.  This list of the what was NOT common could go on and on...  where did the "changes" that brought about this America come from?  Is it tied to a political party in some way??  I believe it is.  The things I mention, that bother me, are liberal points of view...

That was CHANGE I could have done without!

Here's a question for America..  no one is particularly impressed with their selections..people are stating they are choosing from the lesser of two evils..

Why is no one talking about the other 11 parties running for presidency on this years ballot?  Perhaps it is time to break the "party selected norms" right OPEN!!!!  Start helping these other parties get more funding and make sense out of what they are running for!!!  Maybe if we are all sick of what we have going on in Washington, we might find something worth caring about in the other arenas!!!!  I didn't even know there were that many different parties out there....  Amazing!!!

I find it somewhat insane and hysterical at the same time, that the same frustrations arise, yet we continue down the same paths of republican or democrat...I have long wanted a party in the middle....

This man seems to keep close ties to questionable characters until the media gets involved, then SUDDENLY, after years of loyalty, Obama "denounces" them and runs..

I.E. Ayers and Trinity United Church of Christ!  If people can't read through his hypocrisy, America deserves what she is going through!!!  This man is simply putting on a performance for the camera's...and does what it takes to 'appear' real...

Give me a break..I'm not buying your scam...  You have covinced many with your eloquent words that float like honey, but will sting in the end...

AMERICA WAKE UP!

I heard something on the debate that has struck some thought with me..

Is healthcare a right or responsibility??

I guess something that I have to ask is America responsible with their health?  I know this may sound naive, but it just occured to me how unhealthy America really is!!  Eating the way we do, drinking, smoking, neglect and behaviors have contributed to the downfall of the basic health in this country...

What do you think Central Florida??  Are the rates 100% due to greed?  Or are Americans selfishly endulging and neglected where they shouldn't?  I used to work in the insurance industry..and the one thing I found interesting was the way employers hand picked the exact plan they wanted..I mean down to the tiniest detail..they said this and that..they dictated what they wanted, and how much they wanted to pay..often times, our company jumped through hoops and made exceptions to accomadate the businesses...so I have a little different take on "insurance"...  would love to hear some talk on this...

What we should be shaking our head about??

That this country nominated a man that the MEDIA refused to scrutinize back then....Hilary tried and was shut up by the media...

TAKE HIS CHARACTER DOWN McCain!!!!  BE REAL!!!!  Any man who ever worshipped at Trinity United Church of Christ should NEVER be president of this country!

I have to really appreciate the sarcastic and feisty fireball that is Sarah Palin...  though I have been unamazed at her responses since her acceptance..all she has to say has been a repeat of what we heard that first week...still..I am excited at the thought of she and McCain taking that office..and today..my mother, a democrat for life, because grandpa said so..is energized about Palin...  WOW!!  Mom watched the debate and loved her!  Uh oh...  dems better look out, because if my own my mother is having a change of heart (and heart I mean)...then it will take much less for the next guy!

I have lost some of my excitement and knowing one thing...the one who takes office has a whole lot of work to do, and whether or not they will get through rests on one point in my book...if congress can come together and make WISE decisions on behalf of the GOOD of the American people, then our next president might STAND a chance to make a difference and bring about reform for a country in desperate need..  But if today is the only time in the next 4 years that we see bipartisan at work,, then I will be happy to put money on my words that we will get nowhere, and in four years, we will blame the next president all over again..

It is time for people to stop pointing fingers, we are all to blame..we all took part in greedy America, and now we pay the price..face it, we all have said for years that it would catch up, and indeed it has...

I look forward to the following 5 weeks...to hear moms reaction today was interesting, and I can't wait to hear more..

sorry for the subject jump around... just writing my thoughts today..

Yes, I watched the debate...and I loved the attitude..first of all..here is a man that wanted to work for economic solution...not rush to argue about things America has already heard about..a debate was secondary..  we know how both stand on the issues..McCain has shown true and realistic interest in our current crisis.. He probably didn't appreciate Obama's comment about a president does more then one thing at a time..which his true, but was a childish comment...  so he had attitude.

McCain doesn't believe Obama understands many issues of foreign policy...that is HIS opinion..sorry if Obama has hurt feelings at the so called "condenscending" tone of McCain..but to be honest...I like the honest attitude McCain had...  The experience issue for last night was unquestionable in McCain's corner..we already knew that...he has NEVER agreed with Obama on these things... he felt there were more important things to tend to last night....still he appeared..  My hat is off to the man that wanted to stay and work the problem at hand..and according to America, it is a big problem that needs worked!!

Guess I appreciate McCain's attitude, because I have one of my own...and I don't think there is anything wrong about NOT being afraid of your body language and tone, and what the MEDIA will say about it.....

I have noticed the majority of Hollywood supports a democratic ticket...hhhmmm interesting...  considering the majority of the "rich" congregate around the name of show business!  The world that is Hollywood has NO clue as to the "real" America...  they may have come from meager means at some point..but seem to let it go at the first pay day, what is the average entertainer of the big screen pulling out for income these days??  How many MILLIONS of DOLLARS??? oh yea..that would be per movie not yearly.....they don't seem to be living in fear of Obama's supposed tax increases on the wealthy..  they have no concept of what the average American is struggling through at this time in history....they have their money...their boats, their vacation homes...their airplanes...their divorces, their reality shows..(which are almost 100% inappropriate for our young tv audience-the majority of the audience however)...and apparently since they are who they are, they become the VOICE of the DEMOCRATS!!!

I'd rather see a no name, hockey mom, with a daughter who got herself pregnant, being in the headlines, ANY DAY!!!  Atleast I know one thing...THAT is real life!

I have done my research..I have been an active citizen in informing myself of the policies of "both" parties...  I have a question that I hear many talking about, but have yet to see it come out on here...

I know this country was established with the intent for, among other things, religious freedom.  I respect this freedom and appreciate it as a Christian.  I have heard people don't want "our" bible thrown at the (with regards to Sarah Palin)..  here is my question that I would like to see Barack Hussein Obama address...the media quit skirting around..and finally someone to speak up on main stream media to the candidate...

Explain the philosophy and your association to the congregation you attended for over 20 years, Trinity United Church of Christ- especially their 4th point on their 10-point vision which is non-negotiable allegiance to Africa; you only left when they over zealous preacher made comments that you knew America would NOT support!   Explain to me this church that seems committed to one race and one race only.  Then explain your past and any current ties to the Muslim religion...and explain your stance on radical Islam, which no matter how you look at it, is the basis for the attacks this country endured on September 11, 2001...  without this EVER being addressed, I am shocked that America has nominated this man...period....

People are busy saying we are doing so much worse, personally, then we were ten years ago...that is why we believe in Obama...he has ralllied around that idea, and made hope loom over our heads..and allow for people to look past these important issues.  The world of radical Islam hates "America"- the western civilization...time to start talking about this part of Obama's life before he runs the country that is hated by these followers.

Just a few comments on a few arguments:

"Where she stands politically isn't what is happening in her own house."  - I've already blogged on this as a comment to another post...  but.. just because her teenage daughter doesn't hold the same opinion as her mother on abstinance doesn't mean Palin must change or realign her political view to reflect the actions of her daughter..(imagine what we would have to believe if we had to use our kids to form our opinions)

The bridge to nowhere- I distinctly remember the comment in her speech was regarding the money to build the bridge, not her position on building it.  And, impressively, she told Congress to keep their money, if they wanted a bridge in Alaska, they would build it themselves.  Sounds like a typical Republican view..do it yourself!

The experience issue- The day Palin was put on the ticket was the day I stopped complaining of the experience of Barack Obama..at this point BOTH sides should stop trying to bring this up..both sides have cause for concern and complaint..both sides have, like it or not, added someone to the ticket that does not fit the typical runner...on the reps side..it is that the energy has increased tremendously with the unique and POSITIVE selection of someone who hasn't lived their lifetime in the same ole world of Washington, and that is why I am excited, because she HASN"T been there!!!  However, she compliments the man who has served his country in one way or another since young adulthood!!  So you have an argument that American's dont want to hear on Sara Palin..I believe most Americans are tired of the "politicians" of Washington and are ready for a "real" American to get in there!  I don't care if she ran a town of 500 with a budget of $500,000 or a billion...and no, I don't think running a campaign compares to running a state, so Obama needs to give that one up as well...  as I have said before..if you really want to compare that, well...I think you have done a bad job as your own spokespersons have opened their mouthes and you have to keep back peddling and "fixing" their mistakes..if you had better decision making, this type of mistake wouldn't be happening.

She hasn't faced the media and answered the tough questions- you are right, she hasn't..but I can't wait until she does..  She makes it easy for me to form my own opinion, not the opinion of the commentator, and she makes it known, she is here for the people, not to gain Media approval...  sorry you got the short list wrong, but get over it!  Surprise!!!

America needs to take a long hard look at the past...  I heard a gentleman interviewed on CNN yesterday who stated Hilary got his vote first and foremost because she was married to Bill Clinton...nice way to select your candidate there...  we always complain about Washington, we always say we want CHANGE, well I believe the ticket that holds true and honest change, without compromising what America is truly about is the McCain-Palin ticket.....and the more I research every day...the more convinced I become!

I am including links to find the answers to the ever present question:  what are they going to actually do..  here ya go..one thing I choose to remember..the word "funding" leaves one giant question, where does the funding money come from...my answer..  in some way share or form, out of my pocket..  hearing taxes being completely cut means one thing to me, I will pick up the slack!!!   But..here ya go..form your own opinion..Im just tired of BOTH parties saying there is no plan on the table......the question is which one works for you and your wallet?

Oh the question must arise...would she even have been considered if she were a man??

This question is null and void..the character, charisma, personality and vigor that is Sara Palin comes as a woman..period...  Her qualifications are as a governor and mayor of a noted town/city/county/state of the United States...I chose to see exactly what the qualifications are for president, if they had changed since my days in grammer school, and no they have not...must be a US citizen, naturally born, and 35 years old...the rest is for the people to use common sense and decide..the question is what is your idea of common sense..sure it would be great if she could say  I've been here and there..I've met him and her..I've done this and that...My experience as an American voting citizen is that the longer resumes don't seem to bring anything more valuable to the table..anything that makes them more ready, more intelligent..perhaps what we need is less "Washington" intelligence...our country needs some drastic unity and an upturn..perhaps someone who brings something new to this ticket can bring something MORE to the people...

If Sara Palin was on top of this ticket..I would have considered her over Obama...  no question..not because she is republican, Im unaffialiated at the present time...but because with the one speech I've heard, she is REAL and plays no WORD games with a country that Obama obviously thinks has no intelligence...

It would not matter who runs as VP- each side begins a smeer campaign as soon as the name is released, in this case..they have ample opportunity to have the little campaign spokespeople come out run their mouths, plant the idea, then have Obama run to a camera and say, we shouldn't be talking about this....  and he claims he is making executive decisions to run his campaign, he can't even control his spokespersons...  I'd say if that is what he wants to use to compare himself to an office of Governor, he has failed...

We had to accept the fact that a man with two years Senate experience can run for President...I now accept the fact that a woman with two years Governoring experience can run for Vice President!!  It seems ok for the Democrats to chant CHANGE within their party, but not accept that same change can come from the Republican party!!

Run with it..and I look forward to hearing from this intelligent woman and hear her views!!!  I will spend my time learning all I can about her!!!!

This is CHANGE!

I am a wife and mother of 4....I love to write, and appreciate this form of art. I believe America's attitude of no longer caring needs to be changed, and perhaps I can get others to start talking and caring again! I moved to Florida in late 2007 due to a job transfer through my husbands employer. This has given me the opportunity to leave the corporate world to persue being a full time mother and homemaker...just to learn that the rest of my job titles don't stop there! I am my two children's (the ones still at home) biggest cheerleader! With the drama of a teenage girl and the athlete that is my football playing son, I stay busy! I have published poetry at Cross Way Publications...and continue to persue a future as an inspirational speaker, having my first opportunity after I moved to Florida. I believe in this country, though I have had doubts over the past several years...I believe in Americans...I believe in God.. I am adjusting to the weather! I came from Colorado where it is pleasant 85% of the time!! I'm an outdoor, sport fanatic girl, who still hates bugs!
