They sang a great song in church today, pretty but simple. The chorus says, "They'll know we are Christians by our love." Basically, others will judge Christians by their actions, and they'll know they are Christians by their acts of service to others.
What a simple but profound message. Do you think we still get that message in our society? Is that concept too old fashioned for most folks to live by in our complex society? Are you optimistic we can see more of this put into practice in the future? Blog it here.
Friday night, I interviewed a guy in jail who claims he is Jesus. He believes he is the spritual reincarnation in mind and spirit, of the Lord. He was in jail because police say he threatened his mother and two sisters at knife point the night before. This all happened in Mount Dora.
What do you make of this guy's claims that he's Jesus and he is compelled to spread the word that things prophecized in revelations are coming true. Blog it here.
Have You Seen the Cross?

Have you seen the cross right next to the 408 at Good Homes Road near Ocoee? It towers 200 feet into the sky and you can see it from miles away.
The folks at First Baptist Church of Central Florida put it up as a symbol of hope and their Christian mission. Church officials say they will hold religious ceremonies at the base of the cross.
What do you think about the huge cross? Blog your thoughts here.

My church said farewell to our pastor today. He had been with us for six years during a 23 year career. Pastor Ben is a good priest and a dedicated clergyman. He got our church very involved in helping the poor in Central Florida and in taking care of family members of people who worship with us.
Do you have a favorite pastor or clergy member you'd like to call attention to? Blog it here.
Do you know anyone doing missionary work? We had a visit in church today from a missionary priest. He's been working almost twenty years in China to spread Christianity in the Szechuan province. He explained that the country is still mostly an atheist country.
The missionary priest explained that when he talked to students at the university about Christianity, they were fascinated by it and hungry for it. This mission to China has made a big difference over the last twenty years.

Fleeting Faith

Faith is one of the most important words and concepts in the English language. It's important to hold it in your heart. It can change and save lives. Sometimes it burns brightly but sometimes it only seems to flicker inside of us. Faith can come and go, it seems sort of fleeting.
Do you ever wrestle with your faith? Does it sort of come and go or is it always strong with you? What do you do to strengthen your faith? Blog it here.
Today in church, the deacon gave a sermon about the blessed trinity. That's the father, son and holy spirit in the Catholic church. He outlined the father as the creator, the son as the savior, and the holy spirit as the sustainer.
What does the Blessed Trinity mean to you? Blog your thoughts here.
Riders Rolling for Prayer

A fascinating adventure is going to start in one week in Orlando. A group of religious bikers from the Greeneway Church are going to ride across the country, praying the whole way.
They are going to take a 25 day eleven thousand mile journey all around America, and they plan to pray at every mile marker. They plan to hold prayer vigils in Florida, southern California, Washington state, Maine and the nation's capital.
The bikers say America needs prayer right now and they want to remind others how important prayer is. You can find out more about this at www.4corners4prayer.com and you can get involved if you want to.
Blog your thoughts on these riders for religion.

Pope Benedict is leading a Mass Sunday at Yankee Stadium, wrapping up his U.S. trip. This morning at ground zero, Benedict prayed for "those who suffered death, injury and loss" in the attacks on September 11th.
What are your thoughts on the Pope's visit to America? Blog them here.
Mormons who have strayed from their faith were invited to return to the fold Sunday by the church's new president.
"Come back," President Thomas S. Monson said in his first address since taking over the church in February. He says members are ready to welcome back "the less active, the offended, the critical, the transgressor."
We've been reading a lot these last two years about people switching their churches or just not going to church anymore. What should churches do to retain their members and get new members to attend church?
Blog your thoughts on this here.
A Vatican official says for the first time in history, Muslims outnumber Roman Catholics. Monsignor Vittorio Formenti told the Vatican newspaper that as of 2006, Muslims accounted for more than 19 percent of the world population. Catholics were at about 17 and a-half percent. Overall, Christians make up about a third of the world's population.

Today Christians celebrates the sacrifices of Jesus for the good of everyone else and his triumphant victory over death and evil. What would Jesus say today if he came to the United States? Would he be pleased with us or would he find us to be less spiritual? Blog it here.
Your Thoughts on Palm Sunday

Church was extra full today, standing room only for Palm Sunday. I guess folks who don't go every week believe this is a significant day in the church year. Each year on Palm Sunday, we hear the long reading about how Jesus prepared for his death and was turned over to the people who would crucify him.
I'm struck by how he knew it was going to happen and had the courage to go along with it to fulfill what the prophets had written.
What does Palm Sunday mean to you? Is this a time of reflection for you ahead of the sacrifices that Christians believe Jesus made for us? Blog your thoughts here.
We have been reading a lot these last few months about recent national studies on religion in America. There is a lot of movement within churches. There's a lot of movement to non-denominational churches and so called mega churches. There are some people leaving the Catholic church and many Latino families joining it.
What do you think about the changes in America's churches? Do you believe you have to go to church each week to worship God or are you content to worship where you are? Blog it here.
Where Do you Find your Water?

The deacon at my church gave a sermon about Jesus and the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus reveals to the woman that he has the everlasting water that everyone thirsts for. She believes him and tells everyone in the town to meet this prophet, and the people begin to believe Jesus.
In this story, people have to go back to the well each day to fill their buckets, but Jesus says he offers everlasting water. Where do you find the everlating water in your life? Share your thoughts with us here.
