OK, I've gotta say it.  I am sick of people doing everything except focusing on driving on our roads and highways.  The cell phone chatters are one thing.  The people who are texting and driving instead of watching the roads, are accidents waiting to happen.

Today, I was driving into work and there's a guy crawling along in the passing lane on Lake Mary Blvd.  Instead of focusing on the road, he's reading a letter.  I hope it was engaging.

What are your thoughts on people who do everything except focus on driving while they are in the cars?  I wish they could at least do it in the slow lane so I can get where I'm going. Blog your thoughts here.

There should be a law against driving while texting and talking on cell phones. If the call is that important then pull off the road and do it.I was riding my bike and this idiot was leaning his head against the window while talking on the phone. He was weaving all over the road. When I passed him I reved my engine and he jumped and dropped his phone.

Riding my bike on I-4, I often get a better view into cars than those in other cars. Reading, eating, text messaging...you name it, I've probably seen them doing it! I wish they would just DRIVE!!!!

(Good idea Erichach)!!! I'd like to kick their doors as I drive past some!

Those dummies just don't comprehend how potentially dangerous the act of driving a car can be.

One second of inattention can lead to their death, or worse, somebody else's.

Not only from riding my bike but from when I was younger and driving a truck some of the things you see going on instead of paying attention to the road. Reading maps, letters, books, and newspapers to women putting on makeup and men shaving just to name a few.

What gets me are the motorcyclists and truck drivers who are busy looking in my window instead of watching the road.

: )

how about newspaper delivery persons folding papers while they are driving. I see this every morning as I ride to work. not only are they not paying attention to the road, but are using both hands to fold papers. I get as far away as I can from those idiots!

Captain Jim, you cant help see those idiots doing that while driving even when I am driving a car. Its not the people who look that causes the problem but the ones doing everything else but paying attention to driving.

Every one who doesn't do these things, think it is stupid. It's stupid!

Getting people to drive safely, and pay attention where thier going, is like geting blood from a rock. It's not going to happen.

I am with some of you, I dislike it when one pulls up to a red light and look over to find someone peering into one's prvate space...lol. If one is driving, they should keep their eyes on the road and focus on what's going on in their own vehicle. In addition to adding a law to keep dogs out of the driver's seat, cell phones, and all other activity other than driving in the driver's seat should be banned! It's not the food so much that I see to be a problem, if we use our fingers to manage the controls for the music, air, etc, then finger foods shouldn't matter too much. Cell phones, and seeing young women who are putting their makeup on, and brushing their hair while driving really need to wisen up and stop putting other people in danger. One thing that really, to put it nicely, "irks" me, is seeing someone flick their cigarrette butt out the window. It's to the point to where I feel like I need to get out, pick it up and throw it back into their car! It's nasty. If they can't stand to have it in their own ashtray.. then DON'T SMOKE!

ybs -- your point on the cigarette butts is well-taken, and I agree.

I have no doubt that many brush fires are started by these morons flicking their live cigarettes out the window. Some car fires too -- cars either belonging to the idiot smoker or the one right behind the idiot smoker.

Cops should be allowed to write tickets (with sizable fines attached) for these infractions.

Maybe arrest them for criminal negligence.

UGH! ROAD RAGE ALERT! On the way to pick up my children from school today, I saw a woman throw a diaper out of the window on 473! Now I can add disposable butts to my cigarette butts list..... Totally Disgusting! Where's the police when you need one.... oh, that's right FlaNative summed it up...lol. They are not always on the computer though around where I'm at, in most of Lake County I see more of them sitting in the shade waiting for speeders to pass by. I see more people littering now a days and it seems no one gets tickets any more for it... why?! The ones who throw out cigarette butts should be arrested! But today...was the first for the diaper...yuck!

YBSRobin, I agree with you on the idiots tossing their cigarette/cigar butts out the window, I don't even like to see these buffoons drop their ashes out the window either! And you know what **I SMOKE**, But I keep an ashtray in my vehicle and I USE IT, I don't toss my "lit" butts out the window, which is DUMBER than DUMB since they CAN, HAVE and WILL start a fire, they go in my little "extinguisher" ashtray which I bought for a whopping $1 at the local dollar store, where eveything is $1. No reason for anyone to be tossing cigarette/cigar butts/ashes out their vehicles window, let alone any other trash! Then smokers wonder why they get such a bad rap, the majority of them BRING IT ON THEMSELVES by their own SLOVENLY ACTIONS of throwing their butts/ashes on the ground instead of in containment systems that ARE PROVIDED for them or don't bother to get one to use in their vehicle! And (smokers)don't give me the crap about the smell, FEBREEZE will take it out as long as you DUMP your ashtray regulary, BUT NOT OUT THE VEHICLES' WINDOW on the street or in a parking lot!

Dump your ashes/spent butts in the trash bin(make sure they are out and NOT smoldering if in a Trash Bin!) or a stores ash/butt can!

Thank you!

BTW: I even carry a small, yes, it's true, a coffin shaped ash tray in my pocket if smoking is permitted in an area, but ash trays or receptacles are not provided to get rid of them except for trash cans. Then I'll use a water fountain or faucet or even lake water to douse the butts and then put them in a trash can. No need to start a trash can on fire, but I've seen idiots do it.

Not all smokers are so stupid or slovenly in this respect. I try to respect my surroundings and keep them clean and litter free.

It's just too bad more people don't follow my example!

Tell ya what irks me....someone like the 18-20 yr old that seems to think traffic already on I-4 needs to stop and let him in. I believe the sign says yield on the ramp. This bozo tries to force his way in to traffic moving 65 mph and because he was so mad that I didnt let him in he slams on his brakes in front of me. Did I mention this "genious" was yapping on a cell phone? Oh and by the way I am in a 76' long semi weighing 80,000 lbs. Remember ALL trucks have numerous blind spots and when you get too close you may as well be invisible! PLEASE GIVE TRUCKS THE SPACE THEY NEED!!!

I moved here from Iowa and I've never seen crap that I see people do behind the wheel here in orlando. Never seen such ignorant worthless people in my life! Even the ones who dont do other things while driving can't drive! No turn signals, cutting people off (with no signal to let the other person know you're about to cut them off) flying 20-30 miles over the limit, etc. And everyone here has to be first! No wonder there are so many car crashes in orlando. Crashes, NOT accidents! A car crash is a result of being ignorant and reckless behind the wheel and that's not an "accident" I do not feel one bit sorry for people involved in a crash. In fact I laugh, they finally got what they deserve! I don't even feel bad when someone dies in a car crash. It's one less moron on the road.

terrymcillece, sorry you last comment is DEAD WRONG. Mnay an innocent driver that was DOING the right thing has died because of ANOTHER MORONS actions behind the wheel of a vehicle, driving drunk for one, usually these IMBECILLES are the ones that end up killing someone in another vehicle and they end up walking away without a scratch on them!

And there are a few of us that do drive the speed limits, use turn signals when changing lanes/making turns and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles as well as NOT SPEED UP to run amber or red lights either. I was born and raised here and I ABSOLUTELY WAS NOT taught to drive the way a LOT of IDIOTS on our roads drive here today. I maintain a SAFE OPERATORS license because I try to adhere to the traffic laws of the road, which unfortunately many (mainly TRANSPLANTS HERE) do not. I don't know what is so different about other states, I've driven in many and just can't figure out why when these people drive in Florida they turn into ROAD MORONS! I KNOW they weren't taught to drive like that, I'm pretty sure of it, but tyhey get here and it seems they lost their brain cells when it comes to driving coutesly and properly!
