The Feds just made a big immigration bust. They cracked down on fake marriages, which were arranged just so foreigners can stay in the United States. Floridians were paid a couple of thousand dollars each to marry foreigners from eleven nations, mostly from Latin America.
The foreigners paid up to ten thousand dollars to get married to circumvent U.S. immigration laws. More than eighty people were busted. Four companies were set up in central Florida to arrange the marriages.
The Feds say this is a national security issue, because we don't know what the intentions were of all the people who came into our country. Some of them had committed crimes previously.
What do you think about sham marriages, and Americans marrying for money to let foreigners stay here? Blog it here.

I have been a News Anchor and Reporter in Orlando almost six years. I love Florida, and I love living here. I work to serve our community when I can. I'm here to stay, so we'll be blogging together for years. This blog is not the gospel according to Keith, although I might quote scripture. It's a place to connect with other people, have fun, pass some time and pick up useful information along the way. I hope you'll visit this blog often and share your ideas with others here. The Internet is a powerful tool to connect people and to improve their lives, and I hope you will use MyFoxOrlando.com each day to add something to your life.
