The Feds just made a big immigration bust.  They cracked down on fake marriages, which were arranged just so foreigners can stay in the United States.  Floridians were paid a couple of thousand dollars each to marry foreigners from eleven nations, mostly from Latin America.

The foreigners paid up to ten thousand dollars to get married to circumvent U.S. immigration laws.  More than eighty people were busted.  Four companies were set up in central Florida to arrange the marriages.

The Feds say this is a national security issue, because we don't know what the intentions were of all the people who came into our country.  Some of them had committed crimes previously.

What do you think about sham marriages, and Americans marrying for money to let foreigners stay here?  Blog it here.

I wish the Feds would make up their minds.
They let thousands of people illegally into this country, now they are cracking down on some who at least try to make it look legal.
Does LEGAL IMMIGRATION even exist any more?
I'm getting old, fat, and ugly, maybe this is my big chance!
Truthfully, I feel that the Federal and State and local governments have betrayed the citizens by not doing their job and enforcing our immigration laws.
I think that everyone needs to be voted out and replaced.
I see grossly obese sheriff's deputies setting up speed traps to thieve from citizens instead of doing their job and removing illegal squatting invaders.
Here they go after a handful of illegals and the Supreme Courts says that illegals have a right to free education, trial by jury, welfare!
If this is a start where the Feds are finally doing their job---Thanks, guys, it is a start!

I with ya Todd, been saying that for years..
Cheaper to shot them, than to deport them 3-4 times....$0.35 vs $5,000....

Do the Math you can shot alot of them for the cost of deporting 1 time

the only real benefit to being a family class immigrant now days is there is no wait time for available visas numbers. These people still go through the full process, background checks, more background checks, medicals, interviews, fees, etc. Although it's still against the law to lie on a visa application. So I guess nothing wrong arresting them. Although I'd like to see them go after illegals that are criminals and a burden first. Rather than easy targets :)

Sure its the right thing to do ...but , lets not gloss over that $10,000 bucks. Where do I sign ! I don't have to actually sleep with the immigrant to get the money do I ?
