Okay, I go to school on Aug 20th.

Since last monday I have been in bed by 10 and the latest was 11:30 but I fell right asleep. Now Today, I have just posted this because I cannot sleep.

The latest to my thought I had laid down before I fell asleep was believe to be about 15 mins. I spent 45 mins laying down. Everything was the same. Nothing was on my mind. I just couldnt sleep.

Last year When it was a week from school and I didnt go to bed until 4 a.m because of my old layout/contest site on myspace. My sister gave me a sleeping pill and it was 11:30. But the next day, I fell asleep at 10. and for the next week I kept going to bed so early.

So that came to my mind that once you teach the mind to go early your body would start adapting to that. Well, Why arent I sleeping?

I mean the bus comes at 6:31 so I have to wake up at 5:30 so my brother can shower, and then I can, and then I can get ready real quick and leave. It's just coming to my mind that I am not able to even get tired.

And about 15 mins before I had posted this I got tired, So I laid down, I spent 10 mins just laying there, I opened my eyes, It felt like I was on a energy drink!

Uhg!

Has anyone else been having these problems?

I know the feeling all to well and I now have my little helper Tylenol PM with a cup of warm milk...even with nothing on your mind you can still be restless.

Uhg!
I asked my dad to do the sleeping pill like last year.

He says it's because I've been all sugared up.
BULL CRAP!
I walked 5 miles.
Walked home, went on the computer, drank water all day!

Bleh!

Unless it becomes a nightly event that you can't sleep (then you need to consult a doctor)just work at getting into a regular routine. Start getting ready for bed about 10pm. Take a warm (not hot) shower, drink a cup of Camomille tea (if you like tea) then brush and head to bed. Try turning on a sleep CD (like ocean sounds or rain sounds) make your room very dark, lay down and relax by breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth as you mentally tell each part of your body to relax starting with your toes. It may take you a few nights of doing this to train your body to sleep but it will work if you stick to it I promise.

It really just training your mind and body to work with your internal clock. Sleeping pills should only be used when nothing else works.

Oh and James your Dad was right in part. I know you said you walked 5 miles but that kind of exercise won't make you sleepy because it raises your endorfin levels which in turn tells your body that it needs to keep moving and burn calories neither of which helps you sleep.

Good luck and sweet dreams.

Up your exercise during the day. Stop physical activity at least two hours before you want to go to bed. Make sure you're getting all three meals, and at the right times. Don't eat just before you want to go to sleep. Never watch TV in your room. Get a book and lay in bed reading, with your teeth already brushed and ready for sleep, about an hour before your bedtime. No bright lights. Turn off all lights and noise when you're ready to sleep.

Like the Captain said, after everything is done for the day, get in bed with a book, you will drowse of soon.
If I sit up reading, I could read all night. If I lay down and read, I am lucky to make it 20 minutes.
