Looks like the entire country was cooler than usual this year. Does that mean we're having global cooling? If so what do we do about it?

A year and a half into life in Florida and my daughter tells my husband- "Dad -I'm sick of winter". This was yesterday when the temp was in the low 70's. My seven year old was cold and wanted to know when we could go swimming again! How quickly perspective changes here in the sunshine state! We did remind her that her old home of Utah had 18 inches of brand new snow from the last 12 hours! YIKES!
Best nights sleep

I'm a terrible sleeper! I can go to sleep but can't stay asleep. With that said. I've slept better in the last two nights than I have in I can't remember how long. The only thing I can think of that may have made a difference is the weather. I think the chill in the air... a nice cold bedroom has made me get a good nights sleep.
Thank goodness for a couple cozy "winter" nights in central Florida..
Thanks Mother Nature!!!!!

O.K. That was my ACDC Thunderstrcuk imitation. Anyhow. I've been here in Florida just a bout a year now and I'm STILL not used to the thunder. I moved from the second driest state in the nation (Utah) with very few rain and thunder showers.

Every time I hear it I want to hit the ground and hide! The thunder wakes me from my sleep- I think it's bombs falling on my house!
Yesterday we were in the Target garden center when a huge storm hit. I believe the words my daughter was yellinwere "Mom w'ere gonna die!". I know this all sounds dramatic.... but it catches me off guard all too often. my kids are totally freaked out!
There's thunder and lightning out west.... but it sounds more like a mouse and out here it's a lion! RRRRAAARRRRR

Will we get used to mother nature's weather "bombs"????
My air conditioning bill is already through the roof! The heat has only just begun so my family is trying to cut back and move the temperature up throughout the day. We've set the thermostat at 77 during the day. But- I'll admit I have to turn it down when I jump on the treadmill and at night. I can't sleep unless it's a whole lot closer to 70!
Where do you set your thermostat? Do you notice a big difference in your bill if you keep it set a little higher?
