As we contemplate the rather Embarrassing Fall of the Republican Party resulting from these elections we must NO more DO so in a panic then we SHOULD have forgotten,, in our celebrations 12 years ago,, why we EVER won in the FIRST Place..

It is LONG past time when the Republican Party Should return to it’s Republican Values and Ideals and finally to realize that acting like Democrats was a FATAL Mistake and a TERMINALLY Flawed Strategy..

It is,,

TIME to PURGE the Party of RINOs and OTHER second string Democrats....

TIME to LOOK to the Future instead of the past..

TIME to WEED out the Old Timer Fossels more interrested in Party Power then the Good of the Country..

TIME to get RID of this "It’s YOUR turn " Heirarchy..

TIME that our Candidates REALIZE that the Possibility of GAINING Converts CANNOT take Precedence over the Loyalty to the Party’s ideals...

TIME to Modernize,, without abandoning TIME Honored Principles,, and LEARN to USE the resources that the other side has USED only too well..

TIME to Realize that to BECOME a Republican is to EMBRACE the Ideals of the Party,,NOT to have the Party Aquiesce to the Demands for COMPRIMIZE..

For FAR TOO long Comprimize was a REPUBLICAN thing to do..Working Across the aisle meant that ONLY Republicans made the Trip.. Comprimize,, as it ALWAYS does,, ONLY costs the one who’s DOING it..THIS has GOT to STOP…

But First..We have to face a reality..

 WE were OUTGUNNED..

WE were OUTTALKED..

WE were OUTCLASSED..

WE were OUTSPENT..PERIOD..

Interrestingly enough,,McCain was Defeated by the McCain/Feingold Campaign Reform Act..He was DEFEATED when he COMPRIMIZED in that Violation of Free Speech,,LONG before he announced his candidacy,,HE WAS DEFEATED..

ONCE again..Crossing the aisle has resulted in a KNIFE in the Back for Republicans..

I have sat for LONG enough as the RINOs quothed in Pious ARROGANCE that Reaganism.. a PROVEN and WINNING Strategy,, is OBSOLETE and that the NEW Republican Party must SHIRK their Heritage of HONOR and INTEGRITY for the Ways of that "Other " Party.. Well,, We SEE where THAT gets us..MAJOR LOSSES IN THE LAST TWO ELECTIONS….

I mean REALLY,, THINK about it....WHO would want a SECOND STRING Democrat when the REAL thing is so easilly available???

It should NOW be evident that we MUST re-evaluate the Future of Our party..THIS election was between the Pick of the Media and the Pick of the Clintons..We must NEVER allow THAT to happen again..

A TRUE Republican,,One that STANDS for and LIVES the Ideals and Values that WE,, as a Party,, have ALWAYS claimed that WE stand for..would have run away with this election..HANDS DOWN..

NOW we find ourselves at a crossroads where WE define WHO and WHAT we TRULY are..and are GOING to BE..

Until we do THAT,,we have NO business worrying about the State of the Country for WE are NOT worthy of that concern..

FEAR NOT for this country because of THIS election..

THIS country is FAR STRONGER then YOU have been LED to believe..And They STILL have the People to contend with...

THAT which we CANNOT avoid we MUST endure..

And America is an ENDURING Nation if it is NOTHING else..

And you know that ole saying..THAT which doesn't KILL us makes us STRONGER..

I see us becoming FAR STRONGER then we EVER were before because of the Hurtles that NOW lie before us....

THIS is perhaps the BEST thing that could've happened as far as the Republicans are concerned..The Parties were getting FAR too much like each other and maybe,,JUST Maybe,, the Republican Party will FINALLY SEE the FOLLY in that..

MAYBE,,They'll QUIT acting like Democrats and START acting Like Republicans because MARK my words..

Tonight,, as FAR as THIS election was concerned,, ONLY the better of TWO DEMOCRATS won...

THIS is the Change that WE,,as Republicans,, MUST concern ourselves with BEFORE the Voices of REASON are SILENCED forever…

It is NOT a time to lay down in Defeat..NOT a time to throw in the Towel..Wallow in Self Pity..FAR from it..It is the TIME to GRASP the OPPORTUNITY for it IS clearly Knocking..

It is TIME to say..WE have ONLY begun to FIGHT..

NOW..MORE then EVER,,YOUR Country NEEDS you.. Are WE to FAIL her as our Leaders failed US???

NOT in MY America..

My fellow Obamericans...see what we have done. We toppled one President Hussein only to rise up another President Hussein in Barack.

Always remember when all the adverse changes that occur this is what you wanted.

As far as the Republican Party, it has been silenced. And it will keep dwindling because now the Democrats are the outnumbering factor. It will be a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time for it to come back...if ever.

The once proud Republican Party is no more. Hopefully a new party can rise from its ashes. Perhaps new leaders will learn the lessons taught by the liberals.

Be persistent. Be strong in your convictions. Compromise only when it is to your advantage. Plant strong supporters into academia and the media. Learn to out shout your opponent. Demonize the opposition at any opportunity.

Unless the Republicans learn to fight as strong and dirty as the Democrats, we will have a one party election in four years.

...where do Republicans go from here ? I am looking at Canada along with a few others because of the long term economic out look , but Mexico is also a very real option. Both offer a far better environment for the small to medium business owner...One thing is certain , building a business here is not worth the effort.

Having lost two national elections in a row, it is extremely obvious that the Republicans have to make some changes in order to again be a viable party.

Looking at the election strategies that did or didn't work is important, but the philosophy of the Party is even more so. The choice of Sarah Palin represented errors in both.

It is also interesting that the Republican States consist mostly of states that have poor educational systems and/or are very rural. Florida is one of the few states of the deep South that went for Obama. The existence of so many people from the North who received good educations may have been the reason.

They need to run a better campaign. Stupid people say stupid things, and more than once.

McCain's constant pounding of Obama, only made it obvious, he had no real plan if elected.

Palin was a poor choice.

Oh no! This CONSERVATIVE Republican will be right here! I'm want front row seats to this 4 year event!

I want to be there when the light comes on and that student Obama supporter gets his first set of post college bills, and can't pay them.

All the people that voted for him simply for the color of his skin now can NEVER call anyone else a racist without first looking in the mirror.

Now word is his COS is going to be Emanuel! You can't get any more screaming radical mad Liberal than that! Obama is about to shove his promises of Marxist/Socialist agenda down our throats, and THEN in the second half of the year run as fast as he can to the center again before the people notice that his speaches don't match his actions....

2 years, he has two years. If this ship isn't showing signs of turning around by 2010, the Republican party will make a strong comeback in the House and Senate. For the next two years, things will be off balance in Washington. Then in 4 years, we'll see. Anytime, historically speaking, the Congress and Presidency are controlled by one party, it brings economic devastation.

Personally, I think it is a very realistic possibility that Biden will soon be our next President. The Secret Service certainly have their work cut out for them in protecting Barack. Will they succeed?

Being that this election was won based on an economy that, well sucks.. I think Republicans had better take a good look at ways to run a budget, cut the debt, minimize spending, make wall street give up its corporate dominance of all things money, and learn how to say NO to the lobbyist that limit what Republicans could do! America wants a strong moral and value centered nation, but america pays homage to the money gods...

Republican. Democrat. I reject YOU BOTH. I'm tired of Poltical Parties which are just fronts for Despotism and Dogma. I want AMERICAN! Go Ahead, follow the course suggested above and we will happily see you follow in the footsteps of the dinosaurs. Maybe the InterNet will be used to restrain Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, et. al., to use COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS in Congress instead of Special Interest Ploys and subterfuge. Even the once respected Ralph Nader is bitter about the outcome of this election, it is a shame. Just, Maybe, all the Haters in this country WILL Move away...I suggest to Saudi Arabia, North Korea, or the Russian Democracy, where you ALL will feel more comfortable with THE Political Philosophies espoused THERE. IMHO Thank You For Your Indulgence

Mssailor, what are you talking about when you say :The once proud Republican Party is no more. Hopefully a new party can rise from its ashes. That is not true. The party is not dead. It has been hijacked by the RINOs. The true conservatives are still here. We will not budge an inch. We are here to stay. I will not back down on my beliefs. I will help make the conservative movement as strong as it can be. I will stand up to anyone wanting to destroy the foundation this Nation was built upon and I will not give up.
I am like Hawk, this show is going to be a good one. I am buying my ticket early.

myfree.. I have to agree...and if the behavior of students in schools are reflections of what they are hearing and seeing at home, I have cause for concern...the white kids are completely out of line, the black kids think "they" now rule the world..the others are just lining up to be part of the battle...my daughter doesnt even want to go to school...I cant imagine the workplaces and such... Im praying for America!!!

MSCsailor is right. The Republican Party made the mistake of trying to placate to the people's wishes INSTEAD of leading them, and they lost. They didn't hold other leaders or the media accountable either.

But its the voters that failed this nation too! Had any of my children voted for Obama, I would have informed them that THEY now will pay for their college, THEY will now be off of the family insurance, etc.

You dance around in the streets with no appreciation of just who works hard to give you a better chance, and you go and bite the hand that feeds you. Because you chose not to be TRUTHFULLY informed in your decission, I no longer will support your spoiled little life.

When the guy who owns the appartment building gets his taxes raised.. don't call me asking for more money because your rent went up... You should have looked beyond what you were being told, and realized that NOTHING is free, there is no Free lunch, and FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!

When the hairstylist raises the price of that cut and hair do... All the things in life that small business has made so nice for your quality of life... they will be showing you trickle down economics in a fashion you never realized!

The problem with the Republican Party was illustrated by the behavior at McCain's election party last night: they didn't show those in attendance McCain losing states. This one-sided lack of reality and ignoring the truth is what has cost the GOP dearly over the past eight years. If it is to have a real revival, it must deal with reality, stop ignoring the truth, understand what average Americans see as the common good and relearn moderation, instead of catering to fringe elements and wild conspiracy theories on the right. When the Republican Party practices smaller government and non-interference in citizens' lives instead of just preaching about them, which is all it's done the past eight years, it has a chance at reviving. As of now, however, it has lost its soul and lost touch with ordinary Americans. The question is: do Republicans have the gumption to be realistic, repent of their sins, change their ways and think of America, instead of just "the base"? And will they put "country first" by working across the aisles with the new administration, or just be recalcitrant and unconstructive for the serious work Americans of all stripes face ahead?

sensiblejoe writes- "And will they put "country first" by working across the aisles with the new administration,"

Working across the aisle is one of the major factors in the demise of the Republican party. The Dem/libs, even though the minority in Congress, stood on their principles and sucked the republicans into compromising all along the way. The issue of illegal aliens is a classic. While the vast majority of their constituents were soldily against any kind of amnesty, many republicans just wanted to show the could "get along" with the dems and compromise. Yes, John McCin was one of them, and I still beieve that his "bipartisanship", i.e. compromises, cost him dearly.

The republican Party is not dead. I am still here and my views haven't changed. I still believe it is wrong to kill babies, especially when they are accidentally born alive, It is murder. I still believe it is wrong to tax people just so the government can give the money to people who have already ripped us off. I still believe that our troops are over there fighting so that we may have the right to remain free to say and do what we want.

Obama kills babies, stole money from people and made them lose there homes and never even said sorry. All the terroist nations have cheered him on. He plans to disarm the american people by taking their guns and their money and then what will this country became?

In the book of revelations is the fourth seal. We are living it. I believe in God and this is what is already written in the bible.

No matter what anyone says YOU can't take away my right to believe in GOD and I won't deney him, will You?

Obama didn't win by that much in votes so I know there are plenty of people who believe in the right to life and the right to no more taxation. I know there are still people who work and do not want the governement telling us what we can and can't do.

To all those young people who voted for him, all you did was vote yourself out of a college education. When your electric bill is 2 times higher than now,and the company or industry is the one your daddy works for that Obama has bankrupted stand up and take responsebility for what choice you have made.
And just hold on until tax time when he sends you that 500.00 check he promised y
