If I had to pick a NAME of someone that best represents the word "Downfall" my choice would be without hesitation and without the slightest reservation,,,,

Micheal Vick..

ONLY a couple of YEARS ago his name was mentioned ALL over the place..He was an ICON.. A celebrity of the highest order..A REAL American Hero to Some.. a Nemesis to ALL who played against the Atlanta Falcons..Recognized wherever he went..

ONE of the best THIS and THE Best That..YOU couldn’t watch a Little League baseball game without HIS name coming up..I heard him being talked about during a GOLF Tournament in which Tiger Woods was playing..And forget about Football..Geez..A half hour at LEAST of EVERY game was devoted to him no matter WHO was playing..

Well..I heard his name ONCE again and I was STRUCK at WHAT a difference a couple of years can make in a person’s life..How a SINGLE decision can change EVERYTHING..

No more QB Stats or Yards gained..Nope..It was instead an example of a LIFE LOST..

I heard his name on a commercial for the National Geographic Channal’s

"The Saving of Micheal Vick’s Dogs"

THAT is the enduring Legacy of the Once GREAT Micheal Vick..

OH how the MIGHTY have fallen..GOD save me from such a fate..

Michael (not "Micheal") Vick's life is not an example of a "life lost." It's an example of a life WILLFULLY THROWN AWAY in the arrogance of thinking one is above it all and can do whatever the heck one wants -- the law, morality, common decency or effects on other living creatures be damned. As for "hero," it's high time Americans stopped misusing that word. The man threw and caught a ball for a hyperinflated salary in a socially unnecessary "job," for heaven's sake. A hero is someone who exhibits extraordinary courage and nobility of character by doing something he/she need not do for others, in spite of personal risk. Vick did and was none of that.

I was hoping against hope that the obvious would be overlooked to see the true intention of this post which is admittedly somewhat obscure..

First off all..Thrown away,,Lost,,THAT matters not..

MY point was the transitive nature of life,,the lack of permanance and the SPEED in which a Life altering transition can occur..

Your are wasting your breath Hawk. SenselessJoe is a drive-by blogger that corrects spelling and/or drops his negativity and leaves never to return. He never has commented twice on the same blog. He is a one hit wonder.

Actually,,THOUGH I agree fully in ALL fairness I have to concede that I wasn't as clear as I wanted to be..And SHOULD have been..

I wasn't making a play for sympathy for Vick,,I AGREE that he should've been punished..

Again..My ONLY point was that one should NEVER get so HIGH in life as to THINK that one is ABOVE doing the right thing..Or TOO high to NOT be held responsible for doing the WRONG thing.

The Fall is MUCH more DRAMATIC then was the ascendency..

There IS a Lesson to be learned here..For ALL of us..

I got that Hawk, and I thought it was quite obvious.
Much like OJ, who was worth a fortune in memorabilia, and now is worth much less in morbidabilia.

How the champs have fallen through thier follies!

Not follies. Through thier unspeakable crimes is more accurate.

I think it was clear the point you were trying to make. Don't let the drive by idiot make you think it wasn't clear. It was!
