McCain is NOT a Favorite of the Conservative base but he has ONE thing going for him that NEITHER of the other two candidates have..

Hardly ANYTHING is being made of a VERY important consideration when choosing our next President from these three..

Supreme Court and Federal Judgeship appointments..There will be, it is estimated, a possible 3 or 4 Supreme Court positions opening up in the next few years and somewhere over a HUNDRED Federal Judgeships …SO,,this IS an IMPORTANT consideration…McCain has PLEDGED to appoint judges who will NOT modify and/or rewrite the Constitution along political agendas and party lines..

Imagine Obama nominating a "Wright" to the Supreme Court??

Not THAT unimaginable considering Wright was THIS guy’s MENTOR for some 20 years..

EVEN if you beleive that he's ABOVE the fray where this RACIST Anti-American is concerned,, One must STILL question the 20 year long relationship that,, EVEN if innocent,, STILL represents a deplorable LACK of Judgement where character is Concerned..

And Hillary,,SHE'S no better..I'd ACTUALLY prefer to have a Wright in there then a George Soros,,a Buffet or EVEN a Bill Clinton...

Now..The Media has made a non-issue into a poilitical football,, ONCE AGAIN.. Feeding the LEFT with talking points,, ONCE AGAIN.. Namely.. McCain’s so-called Temper..They commited this interference once before with the Democrats,, at the BEHEST of the Democrat leadership..We ALL remember the speech made by Howard Dean that the Media Blew up into a "Rage" controversy..Now I remember that speech….I remember a GRINNING Dean with raised arm overhead vowing to take the upcoming primaries by storm and ending the speech,, STILL GRINNING,, with the NOW infamous Heeyaaaa!!!

But STILL,, the Democrat Propaganda Machine managed to remove Dean from consideration by the voters by Slander, Innuendo and repetitian..

It SEEMS that Dean was in John Kerry’s way in his quest for the nomination and Kerry ALREADY had the Blessings of the Democrat Leadership and their Lackey’s,,, the MSM..And the VOTERS be DAMNED…

So NOW they want to pull the SAME thing on McCain…

HOWEVER,,,

McCain's So- called temper would be an ASSET,, and a WELCOMED one at THAT...After 7 years of UNANSWERED Lies about the CURRENT administration,, it would be A REAL change to have someone IN there who won't just sit back and TAKE this BS..

McCain would do well to take a page from Cheney’s record on this score.. After a Democrat resorted to SCORCHING and UNPROVOKED name calling on the Senate Floor,,the SAME Democrat tried to Horn in on a Televised Interview Featuring Cheney..Cheney,, NOT knowing the Mike was STILL on,, Turned to the guy and told him to go **** himself..Though Much was made of the Negative aspects of this incident by the MSM,, Cheney’s approval Rating actually SKYROCKETED..

Yeah,,It would be NICE to have one of OUR guys in there who KNOWS how to take up for himself for a change…

BTW,,

I LOVE it..The ONLY reason Hillary's STILL in there is because of Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" and the LEFT can't make up it's mind whether to CURSE him or to Brag about Hillary's Popularity among Republicans..

ROFLMAO..

So,,,The Libs end up doing what they ALWAYS do..They do BOTH.....

Talk about DIVISION....Does talking out of BOTH sides of your mouth constitute Division???

There is little that John McCain could say to earn my vote. While unlike Hillary and Obama, there is no doubt he has served his country honorably, he is far too liberal on the issues. His compromises with Sen Kennedy on several key issues, especially illegal immigration, leave me cold. He can not be trusted on judicial appointments, as he will likely again "compromise" with the liberals. No, I would not vote for either H or O, and will not sit it out. My vote will go to Ralph Nader.

A great American? Yes. A great President? Unlikely.

Therein lies the problem that McCain has with the conservative base.. And the FACT that the No-Vote protest of '06,, BY Conservative Republicans,, over the Invasion Issue opened the door for the Democrats to regain Power MERELY underscores the irony of the situation..

MANY good Republicans were OUSTED by that protest while the Co-sponsor of that bill ends up being the Republican nominee for President..

There is a LESSON to be learned here..While the ENDS may not ALWAYS justify the MEANS the MEANS without a CLEAR and OBTAINABLE end is a Study in Futility,, NOT to mention Stupidity..

Republicans sought to “Teach” the Republican Leadership a LESSON and ended up becoming a MANDATE for the Democrats..Talk about stepping on your OWN !) ! ( K…

And we STILL have the INVASION Isssue..

A No-Vote Protest or a Vote for someone with NO chance in Hell Protest is NOT the answer..
WE ARE IN THE FIGHT FOR OUR NATION’S LIFE..

If we CAN’T put someone in there who can SAVE this Nation,,the LEAST we can do is put someone in there who WON’T have a KNIFE at her throat…

It's a HELL of a note,,It AIN'T fair,, It AIN'T right ,,BUT;

Sometimes the BEST that you can hope for is NOT getting the WORST that you can imagine..

I heard that Hawkeye..LOUD AND CLEAR...and its a message that many fail to understand with the wrong about Obama and/or just want to ignore. People just slayed me. The ones I talk to simple want Hillary because she's A WOMAN...for crying out loud this is not the time for personal agendas...then those who want obama simply BECAUSE HE made himself look like a freakin afro-america..BUG HUMBUG..I say...his neither black or white..get over it...this is why everyday..I email back and forth with good friends back up north since there's a great majority of Democrats..in hopes that I may RING A BELL and someone would let go of the nonsense for once and think about the rest of the world in jeopardy...GREAT POST...keep'em coming

Thanks Candy..

Voting for someone simply BECAUSE they're a Woman or a Black,,Hispanic or ANY other race is NO DIFFERENT then voting for someone simply BECAUSE they're a White Man..NONE..

ONE is as DISCRIMMINATING as the other and JUST as IGNORANT..

I just ask such a person "Why don't you JUST be Honest about it and wear a SHEET like every OTHER sexist and/or racist???"

What have WE been doing for the last 40 years??

Candy,,You might look upon such people in the SAME light as Wright who sought to Pollute and Corrupt the message of Martin Luther King to fit HIS militant Anti-American Agenda..

FAR from hating this country,,MLK loved HIS country SO much that HE foresaw,,as in a DREAM, a day when ALL would;

"not be judged by the color of their skin ( Or by what’s between their legs ) but by the content of their character"

THIS he did NOT say of Kenya,,Nor did he say it of Somalia nor ANY of the African countries of his,, or ANY other Blacks ancestral origins..THIS,,,He said of AMERICA…..

Another great post, Hawk! Hillary in the White House is just unimaginable. It would be like having a rerun of Bill all over again; The Mena Connection, Pardoning Drug Lords, Lies. lies and more lies... Obama? Osama in a mask, as far as I'm concerned, with an adjusted agenda, to make him appear more docile. McCain is the only one with any ability to lead our country from a military point of view, but there are many other areas of concern that I have about him. Both of my parents have known him personally for 50 years, although they have not been in contact with him for many years. My Dad was at the Naval Academy teaching, (although he never had him in class) when McCain was a Cadet. It's obvious that he's a "hothead" and that he flip-flops on issues. Regardless, he has my vote over the choice of the OTHER two!

I don't think ANYBODY'S too thrilled with McCain but I think that rather then THROW the election and give UNCHECKED Power to the Democrats,,I'd rather see that energy used in taking BACK the Republican Party..

There are SIMPLY too many Independent Parties that conservatives have been FORCED to flock to for ANY one of them to EVER rise to a position to challenge EITHER Major Party..

At least NOT in OUR lifetime..

It would make more sense and be MORE productive to regain control of the Republican Party and restore the TIME Honored Values and Principals under which that Party made it's acendance..

It's gonna be tough,,NO doubt about it but as little as that difference may be,,there's STILL a difference between Difficult and Impossible..

I'm hoping for a true conservative running mate for McCain. That will make it a bit easier to vote for him.

Afterall, what are the chances, at his age, of surviving 4 years in the most stressful job in the world???

Good point about the Conservative VP,, FN..
I believe that THAT would go a LONG way towards alleviating many fears and concerns,,BUT

I think that it could be said that McCain has a HISTORY of dealing with stress..ONE could EVEN make the case that HE got his Maverick reputation by CAUSING it..And THEN,,Thriving on it..LMAO..

I can feel for where the sailor is coming from (but Nader? Come on talk about being in the liberal closet!!!) any way McCain could never ever in a million years urn my vote ! BUT! Obama and Hillary have forced me to give it to him anyway!

Yeah,,That Nader bit kinda took ME by surprise too..Hard to believe that ANYONE who would vote for Nader under ANY circumstances would EVER vote for ANYONE remotely associated with EITHER conservatives OR the traditional Republican Party..But Hey,,,Lots of People are saying LOTS of strange things on these sites..

Here’s MY prayer,,

“O’Lord..OPEN the eyes of thine Republican Nominee..Let him SEE the error and folly of comprimising with Democrats..Show him O’Lord,,that to comprimise with Democrats is to lose TO Democrats..Show him O’ Lord the day that Reagan tried to DEAL with them and the TREACHERY that is EVER the way of the Democrats..SHOW him O’Lord the example of the First Bush who said ”READ My Lips” and THEN had them kicked IN by Democrats that HE thought that HE could Trust..TEACH him O’Lord during this time of campaigning,,that his honeymmon is OVER once the conventions are done..SHOW him the TRUE faces of his Democrat Friends lest he REPEAT his folly of apeasement and comprimise..

DO these things O’Lord and I Promise to Give Up Bungy Jumping”….

I am still voting for Nader. There will be little difference if it is Clinton, Obama, or McCain in the White House. The Republicans have poisoned the well of conservative voters, and have still not learned the lesson of the last election. If McCain picks Crist as a running mate- I'll vote for Nader twice...........

Hawk, I don't think Mccain would ever lay a bleep word on a Dem. I think (I hope I am wrong) that he will lead the most nicey nice campaign ever in the history of the GOP. There is so much fodder out there to throw at Obama and Hillary and I bet Mccain won't touch it with a 10ft pole. I wouldn't trust him to appoint any conservative judge. He chided Alito for "wearing his conservatism on his sleeve" and then you throw in 'campaign finance reform bill' and then you move on to the amnesty bill, and he is gearing up to pet and stroke La Raza...he has thrown all of us ultra conservatives under the bus..just like Obama and his granny. Hey after I returned about 10 envelopes back to the RNC with no money but words of wisdom where they could put their request for donations....I don't get them in the mail anylonger. We need to kick the GOP right in the butt and support a new party. I am so fed up with the GOP.

mscsailor, good for you! Your vote for Nader is just another vote taken away from the Dems and that is after all why Nader runs. He knows he hasn't a snowball's chance in hell of ever winning, but he also knows that Indies who are on the fence about the Dems will cast their votes for him instead of the Dems. They've done it every time Nader runs.
I rather suspect that Nader is a closet Republican who tosses his hat into the ring every time there's a chance that the Rep. nominee will get beat.

Hawkeye asks- "WHY would you do so in the General Election when you KNOW it won't matter??"

Simple, really. McCain's politics are no different than the other two. The Straight Talk Express is on the same track as Clinton and Obama. So it really, truly doesn't matter who ends up in the White House- they're alll liberals. I'll vote for Nader just to continue an unbroken string of voting in Presidential elections starting in 1972. Maybe someone with real political courage will emerge to run in 2012, until then, Republicans won't get my conservative vote.

Well..I don't blame ANYBODY for having reservations about McCain..In Fact,,I haven't seen a "Good" Republican since Reagan in the White House and OUR allowing the Democrats to railroad Conservative Republicans,,Like Santorum,,Allen and Delay out of Office doesn't bode well for our Future,,either..
What can I say,,MY goal HAS to be to KEEP Socialist out of Office..We've dealt with McCain before..WE can do it again...

Hopefully,, before the Election in November,,he'll see the TRUE face of the Devil to whom He seems to have sold his soul..

THIS is just for you conservatives on here..

THIS is the time when we should be acting like WE have something worth fighting for..ANYBODY can act like they’re fighting when everything is going just great for them..We SHOULDN’T be flocking to 10,000 insignificant independent parties whose BEST hope for success is in ruining the elections for someone else..THAT’S what the other side is HOPING for..WEAKNESS through Diluttion..

IF we cannot even FIGHT for what WE believe in then BY GOD,, WE deserve to LOSE…
