Over the years, channel 27 had been broadcasting SEC Basketball Games including all SEC Tournament Games with the exception of the finals which was and still is on CBS.  That made it easy. This year, Fox 35 started airing  SEC Games along with the tournament games. What I was disappointed in was that Fox 35 didn't  broadcast the first two days, which were Thursday and Friday, along with Saturday Nights Games.  I follow SEC games more than any other conference, because it is the best conference, but I and I'm sure therewere others had a hard time finding the SEC games  that Fox 35 wasn't airing.  I had no problem in finding the ACC Tournament Games which was on channel 65.  Big East, Big 10 on ESPN and so on.  All the games was pretty much on one station. I also understand that the tornado that struck the Georgia Dome  kind of screwed things up, but  if Fox 35  is going to air SEC Tournament Games, then air them all. I understand that CBS may have  bought the rights to air the finals, but I never had to run through the channel guide as much as I had to this year. Grant it I have a satellite, but if I wanted to watch a SEC Tournament Game, I had to go to the channel guide to see if Fox 35, Sun Sports, Fox Sports Net South, Fox Sports Net Florida or Sports South was broadcasting the games. Then what Fox 35 wasn't airing, had to channel surf between the other four networks to see who was airing the games.  The games may have been airing on Fox Sports Net Florida but blacked out on the others. I'm really disappointed in Fox 35 in their coverage of SEC Tournament Games. It was a whole lot better when channel 27 broadcasted the games because they broadcasted ALL THE GAMES with the exception of the final which is aired on CBS.. Either show all of the tournament or don't show them all!!!

Respectfully, I disagree with you. Well put, and while there is much truth in your sentiments, I think I see the reason the coverage was what it was.

The decisions made by any organization, in the end, are financial. Would Fox35 have been able to get the advertising necessary to fund full coverage of all the games? Probably not, and yes, it is a disappointment that we did not see everything, but it was a call they had to make.

Personally, I wonder why there is very little coverage of NCAA baseball, but likely I am in the minority of people wondering. There just is not enough interest among our community to warrant airing such. And how about women's NCAA hoops? Women's Pro Basketball? While I would love to see it, in general, there is just not enough interest.

Actually, if we could get people on board with the pure competition of all college sports we'd be supporting the purest spirit of sport, untarnished by lucrative contracts and big money of professionals.

Bring back college sports of all kinds, minor league baseball, and such. Bring back people that play for the love of the game and not just the love of money.

I don't know if I buy that funding through advertising bit. Channel 27 seemed to not have a problem with it. I think channel 35 didn't want to interrupt it's prime time line up on Thursday and Friday Nights with basketball games.

I get all kinds of college games, baseball, Lacross, Hockey, footbal and others. But then, I don't have cable.

I moved here from Indianapolis in 93, but I'm originally from Elizabethtown, KY which is about 40 miles south of Louisville. I spent eight years in the Army as a Military Police Patrolman then went into investigations and eventually working undercover drugs for a couple of years leaving the military with a Honorable Discharge as a Sgt/E-5. I now live in the Dr. Phillips area of Southwest Orange County. I got tired of the cold, snow and the ice and 50 degrees does not qualify as cold. I'm an avid University of Kentucky Fan who likes the outdoors such as fishing, horseback riding and going to the beach. I love Florida and what it has to offer.
