I would like to know, if you are driving on a four lane road and you are going the speed limit and passing slower vehicles that are in the right lane, where is it written that the driver in the slow lane can turn on their turn signal indicator and just switch lanes right in front of the vehicle passing causing that driver to hit the brakes and cause a rear end collision. I see this all too often here. This happened to me today where I almost got rear ended becuae I was less than a car length from the car switching lanes and the driver had one of those convex mirors on the outside mirror so he had to know I was there. I talked to a friend of mine who is a native of Florida and he said I would of been at fault if there had been an accident. If this is true then this law needs to be changed.

Whether you would be liable is questionable since the other vehicle made an unsafe lane change. Without witnesses it's hard to prove, though.

You may have just missed out on an insurance scam. They work in pairs. One car blocks the lane to your left so you have nowhere to go while the other car pulls in front of you and stops suddenly. Then they claim injuries. You were lucky and stopped in time.

Blondes do have more fun until they think like PartyGirl19. Intelligent remarks would be more appreciated.
Funny, nah!

You really did just miss out on being part of an insurance scam, like jfore said. It happens so often that Allstate has a commercial(with the actor from the Unit)describing almost word for word what you said happened, except you stopped in time. Now, had car #2 hit you, then their little plan would have backfired, except they probably would have run and just left you there. I'm glad you didn't have an 'accident'.

The driver making the unsafe lane change would have been at fault. You were possibly culpable if you hung out in his blind spot, but not responsible. I have convex mirrors all over my semi; trust me, blind spots are everywhere.

I hate people that drive with hazards on in the rain. Its cool if you put your hazards on and pull over, but when im going 50 down I-4 and see you with your hazards going 30 i serve because i think your stoped in my lane. And with the switching lanes, if anyone is fimilar with lake underhill near discovery, where you had to merge, people need to stop merging at the last second...

Driving with your hazards on is illegal. Not like the cops will actually stop you for it, they are usually 'too busy' or don't want to get wet. It can get you a ticket though. FYI

I moved here from Indianapolis in 93, but I'm originally from Elizabethtown, KY which is about 40 miles south of Louisville. I spent eight years in the Army as a Military Police Patrolman then went into investigations and eventually working undercover drugs for a couple of years leaving the military with a Honorable Discharge as a Sgt/E-5. I now live in the Dr. Phillips area of Southwest Orange County. I got tired of the cold, snow and the ice and 50 degrees does not qualify as cold. I'm an avid University of Kentucky Fan who likes the outdoors such as fishing, horseback riding and going to the beach. I love Florida and what it has to offer.
