I don't know if it's my imagination, but it seems to me that ever since the real-estate tax was lowered, there have been many more cops handing out tickets on the side of the road.  It makes sense to me that most cities are running very lean due to the drop in their tax revenue....so are they pulling double duty in handing out tickets?   Are they now pulling people over for just going 1-3 mph over the limit?  Obviously, this would make up for some of their lost $$.  If that is the case I'd rather keep the tax rate up higher....at least I can write that off on my tax return.

I don't plan on speeding anytime too soon....

Looks like 4 new nuclear power plants have been given the thumbs up from the state!  That means our power bills will begin to go up by about 4% per year for the next 10 years to pay for the construction.  Check out the article:

I went duck hunting this past weekend....we shot our limit....had a great day....but then came spooky part.  When it came time to check in our 12 ringnecks (6 limit each hunter), the DNR guys wanted to check ours out for avian flu.  They said that the ringnecks will be the first carriers of the avian flu when it comes down from Canada.  So they took both stool samples and throat samples from each duck...put them in viles to be shipped out for testing.

I have not heard much about the bird flu lately...but I guess it's still something we need to be aware of?

What ideas do you have in getting rid of the nasty buggers.....  I've heard that a moist dryer sheet for your clothing works great!   I'll try it!

I'm a true Chicago Style Pizza kind a guy.  I either go for the Deep Dish style....or the extra tangy, extra greasy thin crust and salty style.  I have only found 1 deep dish place...it is the only true Deep Dish Chicago pizza here in Central Florida.  It is Giordanno's Pizza which is located in Buena Vista.  I have yet to find the elusive thin crust, greasy, salty and tangy.  Any suggestions????
