Well, it's the PC way to put it.

Personally, I've learned the hard way, and others I love are learning these lessons, too.

My daughter, God love her, she was pregnant and driving a car which wouldn't be big enough for her three children. She told her cousin she would buy her car, and put the one she was driving up for sale. Her cousin was still using her car, when my daughter had a miscarriage. My daughter being a woman of her word, still bought the car. While parking hers in the yard, a "nice" young woman showed up. She has two kids, and a very sick Mom. She couldn't afford $800 dollars all at once, so my daughter let her make payments. This can only be done if you are a lien holder. She had to put work in her new car and has been trying to move out. Monday a registered letter is delivered. The car has been towed. It had been towed on June 26. There are no keys in it. It was left on the side of the road. No payments were ever received. She now has to pay towing fees, impound fees, a tow fee for pulling it back, and before she can sell it, if the woman didn't totally kill it, she will have to have a new key made just to start it. If she doesn't pay for this or get it out today, they add another $250 on it for auction fees. So it doesn't pay to be nice! Now she said she will become a cold hearted biotch! I'm beginning to feel the same.

You all be careful cause being nice to people will only come back and bite you!

Don't become a "cold hearted biotch" become aware.
And on my other shoulder I'm hearing...Git that lil snot and give it to her good.

Well, I was going to go ahead and delete this post. She paid a lot to have it towed and the woman ripped the ignition out, so now there is another bill to pay. Over $580 so far. I went and got some legal papers for her to fill out. I tried to explain, you can't get blood out of turnips, but she is determined. At least the car is back in the yard, and not making more money for the impound.

Well, why on earth would she take the ignition out? I know you don't know, but that's just ugly of her. I'm really sorry for your daughter, she wanted to do something nice and like you said it comes back and bites you.. That will eat at her for a long time.

There was a trick to getting it to turn if you turned the key back to far, it would lock up. She knew this, and knew how to fix it. She must of let someone who didn't know drive her car. She has also been here on several occasions to get things like jumper cables, and was even loaned a car seat for her kids. She wasn't that far down the road from here, but she never called to get any help, and left the car on the side of the road. It's back here now. As long as she put oil in it and didn't blow up the engine, then every thing will be fine. We can put another ignition switch in.

Gammies did she ever title it in her name? If so your daughter isn't responsible for any of the fees she has been charged with and she can sue her for the cost of the car, the fees, and the repair bill.

As a lien holder she just has an interest in the car pending final payment and retains the right to repo it should payment not be made but she IS NOT responsible for the costs!

TAllen...she is responsible for the costs because the only way she would even recieve the letter is because the title was never transfered making her the responsible party and legal owner! I use to work for a towing company and I was the one that sent the letters after getting the records of ownership! In a civil suit she can only sue for her addidtion out of pocket costs! The new switch and keys, towing charges and additional fees, lost title expenses. Once the vehicle is back in her hands she can resell it. If any damages was done to the vehicle that can also be added on in the suit! Pictures would have to be taken as proof and all the paper work included for the civil suit! She can't sew for aggravation because she made her own choice to take that high risk of being nice! She can only sue for breach of contract, costs of damages and abandenment, payments expected for the time the other lady had the vehicle (hopefully she got that agreement in writing) and additional costs that she had to endure to get the vehicle back into shape for resell.

I hope your daughter did learn by this but she shouldn't become meaner because of it, just wiser and smarter on how she conducts business!

It wasn't just the ignition, it was the whole steering column. I don't think the woman did it. I think she must have let someone borrow the car, and they tore it up and left it.

My daughter was holding the title. My advice to her is EAT IT. Don't go to court, cause it's going to cost her, and in the long run, I don't think she will ever be able to recover one dime. I also told her to call the tag office, and see if she has to worry about her license being suspended, because the car came back without a tag. The tag wasn't in her name, but with the laws, it's always better to ask.

Yup, northton, repo'ed. It was laying there like a lame duck.

Being nice is being nice,
but
Business is business...

Sorry it hit close to home, you can't trust anyone, ever. Even out of the hardship, she will be blessed...Karma is god's love manifested

I guess Karma is good for her, she has two people wanting to buy it and are even willing to fix it first. It's a Toyota, so a few are wanting it for the mileage.

I can't ever really imagine her becoming cold-hearted, it's not the way she is. We will see.

The new Avatar is my youngest grand daughter. My little LadyBug. She's so pretty.

Thanks for your comments.

I don't know how her mom did this, but the baby is really something beautiful. So smart, she started walking when she was 10mths old. A few days later she was running. Never seen anything like her. She is a little over one year old and I spoke to her on the phone the other day, and I swear the child is speaking almost perfect English. Man, she's going to be one heck of a woman when she grows up. Can you tell, I'm a little proud of her? :) Well, I'm proud of all six of them. :) One day I will put all six of their pictures up. If my daughter can slow down and scan them into my files. I don't touch the scanner. LOL

Well I wasn't one for years, and it didn't stop me from having fun with everyone else's babies, and you know they are much more fun, cause you can hand them back to their parents and they don't keep you up at night.

I'm sorry you're having all this trouble, Gammies! That new avatar is hilarious! I'm babysitting my Grandbaby right now, so my daughter and her hubby could have a much needed
break. "Hoss" is sleeping like a baby, as he should be. He's so stuffed with 'nanna's and cereal, it's doubtful he'll be waking up before morning!

I'm watching 2 of them this weekend, so their Mom can go to Daytona.

I'll go and see if your picture is up yet Twizlled.
