How Much is a TRILLION?

Does anyone realize exactly how much a TRILLION dollars is?

If you began earning 1000 (one THOUSAND) dollars per MINUTE (or, for those of you in Rio Linda, SIXTY THOUSAND dollars per hour) when Columbus discovered America in 1492, would you have a trillion dollars yet?

The answer is NO. Not even close. You would have to work ANOTHER 1386 years to acquire a trillion dollars. Yeas, it would take you over 1900 years to earn a trillion dollars at $1000 a minute.

Do the math and chew on THAT for a while.

Hey YD

As President Bush is the President he is the public face we like to blame for our countrys fiasco. That said, there are 100 senators and if I remember correctly, 435 house of what are supposed to be representatives of the people that could have prevented the financial meltdown if they would do their jobs and represent the people. A sitting president can do nothing without Congress allowing it. He cannot legislate or decree. We the people also contributed with our instant gratification mindset. Everyone wants a nice home but its not an entitlement. Borrowing more than we can pay back and thinking the stock market is a sure thing is what helped bring about all this. Predatory & poor lending practices didnt help either. If you lend more money to someone who cannot afford to pay it back you suffer the consequences. Yes the president carries a lot of blame but our congress holds the purse strings and they and greed are about to feed us our just desserts and it aint going to taste good!

the "ship of fools" is occupied by ALL the liars, crooks and thieves in government...there is PLENTY of blame to go around.

Dumbo did use the little used Presidential "signing statement" hundreds of times to ignore rules and laws he did not like. His felonious attorney general, Alberto (thug boy) Gonzalez treated the Justice dept as his little hit squad and we all know that a more evil puppet master has never existed, to equal Dick (slash and burn) Cheney.

GW is and was the worst human being ever to have polluted the White House, joined by the worst bunch of lying dogs ever to have sullied the halls of Congress.

There is plenty of scorn to go around....sling it as you may.

Listen up folks! Here is one you are going to choke on.
My former neighbor hasn't paid a house payment in almost 3 years. A little over a year ago Wells Fargo filed foreclosure. The bank got a final judgment in June. The creeps had some criminal problems and he was hauled off to jail in June. His wife and kid moved away and the house has been vacant and falling into disrepair. The bank has never ever ever taken possession of the home. The bank has never secured the house. The bank has never even stepped on the property. I know because I have called in complaints on the weeds and such. I turned to my hubby last night and said "you know if this Mortgage Bill passes I bet those creeps will come back and try homesteading or something"......guess what? I go get my mail and who is parked back in the drive? The whole darn chicken coop has come home to roost....The guy has not worked in over 2 years or anyone else in his house. He hasn't even so much as looked for a job.
I heard there were going to be provisions in this Bill so that these deadbeats could renegotiate, come down past prime interest, come down on the principal and let them go from there. I think I want in on that deal too!!!!! I guess I am looking at one of the first pieces of real estate the gummint has just acquired. It is not a very pretty piece of property.

Well here it comes the people did not want this bail out but again the Government refuses to listen to the people. Could you imagine if this was a bussines, would any CEO put the people in charge of causing the melt down back in charge of correcting it. No !!!!! Face a fact the people know longer run the government the government now runs the people.
How dare the politicians stand around and pat each other on the back like they just found the cure to cancer. These people are all on the take and if you revote these people back in then I guess you deserve what you get.
Be smart vote out Pelosi, Dobb, Frank, Shumer , Rangle and Mel Martinze

Hey Neck, you can start off by voting AGAINST Mel (I love illegals) Martinez, Adam (I love Opie) Putnam and Vern (I love screwing people out of their $$$) Buchanan.

If my RWNJ pals will notice, the two prominent DEMOCRATS, Kathy Castor and Bill Nelson voted AGAINST the bailout.

I called all the party's and yes I know Nelson and Castor voted against it. I will be taking a harder look at both of them and as i told Martinez staff person I would vote for satin over him.
I am realy looking forward to the government making the forclosed homes on my street into section 8 housing. Won't it be great you scratch and save pay your bill so you can live in a nice neighborhood so that the government can let Billy bob and his 6 kids live next to you at half of what you paid.
It's time to get the pitch forlks.

Hmmmmm.... If I had a trillion one dollar bills, I could STACK them (the are four thousanTHS of an inch thick) all the way around the earth almost three times! Next time you go for a walk, think about all those dollar bills stretching out for miles and miles and miles!



I could lay them out end to end and walk on them all the way to the moon AND BACK 200 times! (or go around the equator almost 4,000 times, or go to the sun once and burn up like a trillion dollars in the hands of the government.)

723 billion dollar bills would stretch to mars and back.

one trillion dollars laid out in squares would cover 4,000 square miles, or the entire Big Island of Hawaii, or cover the entire land area of Tampa 35 times.
