You know GD well that if it could be proven that REPUBLICANS were complicit with regard to the economic crisis, the congressional hearings would be going on 24/7.

But the cast of characters consists of DEMOCRATS. Therefore, no hearings on the horizon. They love to drag the CEO's of those evil oil companies before Congress every time the price of oil spikes. But, gee, when there is evidence of REAL wrongdoing, especially by dems, they crawl into the woodwork like little roaches.

Come on, Nancy the Slut. Whaddya say that we put some of your fluff boys (Dodd, Frank, et al) on the stand?

Afraid that we just might FIND SOMETHING???

*LMAO* Floyd,

I made a cockroach reference in your other blog before seeing that you made one here. Great minds truly do think alike!

You know, I have been railing against Barney Frank and Chris Dodd for days now and asking both YellowDog and MoonOwl if they should shoulder any blame, since they head up two key oversight committees. As with all the evidence pointing to the left, they ignore it. Don't expect an answer, from them at least, that makes any sense. Don't expect one from Vitto either because he's taken to telling fibs and claiming afterward that they were jokes. Good luck on your quest to pry logic out of this group. Maybe DOPE will man up and answer you. At least he has a spine, all be it bent left to the point of breaking.*lol*

There are lots of hearings that should be held. Both sides of the aisle, all parties testifying under Oath.

Yeah, that's gonna happen. The GOP has set a track record of avoiding 'under Oath' for all they are worth. Why would the Dems be any different?

All this posturing right before an election. You'd think these people knew their job was secure w/the way they are all acting.

See what I mean! No mention of Dodd or Frank.

Moo,

DEMOCRATS hold the keys to the cookie jar! Don't blame the Republican's when your macaroons go missing!

??? Dodd & Frank should testify under oath. Does that help?

Who testifies under Oath? heck even Bush & Cheney had to be attached at the hip and NOT under oath to testify before the 911 Commission. Talk about acting like there is something to hide.

Has Karl Rove testified under Oath? Nope. He won't even show up.

I have an idea. Let's get every single member of our government to testify under Oath about everything. Let's find out who is being blackmailed and for what. All of them. If they have nothing to fear, what's the problem?

No exceptions and no excuses about 'national security' either.

Put them all on the stand and then throw them all out of office and move forward w/a fresh start and with people who embrace our founding documents.

Do you realize if S1959 (HR1955) passes, my above statement could make me a possible homegrown terrorist? Can we get back to true American values and get these sold-out, profiting, jerks out of there? Soon?

Moo,

I have asked you repeatedly what YOUR opinion is of those two. You and YD keep saying there's no oversight but when I point out there is and that it's headed up by two Democrats, you fall curiously mum. What do YOU have to say about them beyond the fact that they should testify. Which in fact Frank has done. Unconvincingly I might add.

You really don't want to go there do you? I'm prepared to show you far worse offenses of personal liberty perpetrated by Democrats.

Side note: Does anyone know the origin of the word "Testify"? It's actually quite funny although scary at the time it was coined.

Both sides are corrupt. How many times can I say it? The GOP sucks. So do the Dems. Period.

Arguing about who did what isn't going to get us anywhere but spinning our wheels over and over. That is what all of them want.

What kind of job did Dodd & Frank do? Apparently not a good one. Gee, stand in line. BOTH sides of the stinking, corrupted, fear-mongering aisle.

I'll say one pleasant thing about Barney Frank. At least he is out and proud. He obviously isn't being blackmailed about his sexuality. Or, maybe he is - who knows in this corrupted cesspool we have for a government.

How 'bout this. Can you admit that the GOP is as sold out as the Dems? Can you step back from a party and see the corruption within the whole system?

You can do it if you try.

HR 1955 passed w/only 6 no votes. 6. I'd have to look and see which of each of those voters is in which party. I think those 6 are the party of American Values. Either Dem or GOP.

BLEEP1959, it was supposed to pass this summer. It hasn't yet, but I doubt it got File13'ed or that the language was tightened up. When it passes? and Bush signs it?, it will be another huge swipe at our foundation. Those that vote against it will be true Americans. Which ever party they fall under. Because they will have stood up against the bogus smears of UnPatriotic or 'supporting terrorism' and voted for our Nation. A nation that used to believe "Live Free or Die" meant something.

I must now go prepare for my kids conference. I need to chill or I'll be spouting politics and I try to keep that out of my kids school.

Moo,

I always have said that there's enough blame to be spread around but... When you and YD try to pin ALL blame on Bush and make false claims that there's NO oversight, that's when I take a counter point.

And what does Barney Frank's sexuality have to do with anything? It seems that liberals are quick to point out sexual orientation when it suits them. It's ok for them to bash Larry Craig but not Barney Frank? I really don't care if Craig tapped at or didn't or who he's tapping or why or if he admits anything or not for that matter. Little hypocritical for liberals to do it don't you think?

BTW, nice distraction from the culpability of Frank And Dodd! Didn't work though.*wink*

Moo,

I suggest you look up the Espionage and Sedition Acts and what they had in store for punishment. Take note of the party that enacted it! Do you remember that ALL mail sent to and from GIs in WWII went through military sensors that routinely blacked out portions of letters that it deemed objectionable. You also didn't see reporters embedded with troops like you do today. Even with HR1955, you are freer now than 70 years ago.

Gee, was Larry Craig out of the closet?

My only point about Franks sexuality is that he is out. He doesn't puff himself up as a 'moral and devote' politician while at the same time meeting men in public restrooms. A politician that is 'in the closet' is subject to blackmail. Period.

It isn't a distraction, it's a fact. Politicians who lie open themselves up to blackmail. Not a great thing for the supposed 'leaders' of our nation.

WWII was an actual war. If I'm not mistaken, Congress hasn't even declared 'War' in Iraq or Afghanistan. Why declare war and open the monetary benefits that come w/the declaration for our Troops when they don't have to and can get by on the cheap in this "Self-Financing War".

If you haven't read HR 1955, perhaps you should. See for yourself how loose the wording of it is. That can't be by accident coming from a bunch of 'lawyers'. If you aren't worried, you should be.

As for Bush being culpable for the errors since he's been in office, imho, he is. This administration certainly hasn't stood up and said "Wait a minute, that ain't right". He hasn't even added any signing statements to help our Troops. Bush sucks, so do the rest.

As you say, there is enough blame to go around. That's almost an admission the GOP sucks too.

humpf. Why officially declare war and open those benefits to all of our troops when we can just hire Blackwater? At what rate of pay? I personally think it sucks that we have our Troops doing without when Blackwater gets what it wants w/generous pay. Bring our troops home and leave Blackwater to button things up overseas. Hey, include that corporation in the bail out too while we're at it. wth.

blah.

"A politician that is 'in the closet' is subject to blackmail. Period."

There goes any future excuses you might have for Bill and his Magic Cigar traveling road show of lies.

I don't care if Craig was in a closet of a shoebox! I don't understand what you had to bring up Barney Frank's orientation or morality for? The point I was making was, he's in charge of the Financial Services Committee! You can't blame Bush for Frank not doing his job! Or Chris Dodd!

Not a declared war? What's that got to do with censoring? Look it up, there are far fewer "Formal declarations of war" as compared to "Military engagements authorized by Congress"! Afghanistan an Iraq fall into the latter. So did Vietnam where military censors were still employed. Your point is what again?

I am your normal, middle-class, "working Joe". But I am also a capitalist and believe that nothing good comes from socialistic entitlement programs. I believe in hunting down and killing terrorists like the little rats that they are (except that that statement is denigrating to rats). I grew up in a very conservative household and was fortunate enough to have had a conservative American Government teacher (a retired US Army colonel) who helped to show me the "right" way. Are there things that I would like to change? Absolutely. But NOT the kind of "change" being espoused by Hillarock Obaminton. I have lived in Florida for forty of my forty-eight years. I've been a big Pink Floyd fan since my teen years hence the moniker, FloydFreak. My friends call me Freak, Floyd, and FF. The libs call me a neocon. I wear that badge proudly. Please note that I enjoy engaging in spirited discussion - even with those with whom I disagree. There are a number of individuals on these boards whom I respect even if I DO think that they're out of touch with reality. Please note also that I do not tolerate personal attacks on my character. If you think that I'm full of BLEEP, you have the right to say so. But drag my character into the gutter and expect retaliation in kind with FloydFreak's own brand of sarcasm. Keep it civil and we'll get along fine. To those of you that see good in America and want the OPPORTUNITY for prosperity for all - and do not just seek to soak it to "the rich", I say God bless you. And God bless America!
