June 18th, 2008, Paul McCartney celebrated his 66th birthday !

I want to publicly say   what a an absolute wonder his songs have been and continue to be.

almost everyone on the planet knows a Macca song !

whether it be

Yesterday

We can work it out

Get Back

Hey Jude

Eleanor Rigby

Band on the Run

Live and let Die

and many many more.

Happy Birthday Mate !

Lennon/McCartney-the worlds greatest modern  composers.

(With Jagger/Richards not too far behind)

I'd say the first claim may be true Lennon/McCartney amoung the better of our time, mostly due to McCartney...but jagger/richards...not even on the same list...if they made any list at all.

meh

I think many, if not most, people think of McCartney as a "rock" or rock 'n' roll" writer, but most of his stuff is really just pop.

Paul McCartney is truly one of the greatest song writers of all time. His influence can be heard in music now and for generations in the future. The world has been a better place with him in it.

I concur with you Floridabrit, happy 66th Sir McCartney and may you have many more in the future!
