The thoughts of the chairman - FloridaBrit's Blog!

I dont know about you folks, but I was quite happy when Crist was elected after all the promises he made about insurances   and everything.

I grade him  a E  at the moment

After he advised that Prop 1 to cut prop taxes  is good- it got thru and now we have a mess due to cities losing money  and trying to think up ways to get more out of us,

and of course the housing crash has hurt    cities too.

we had  promises about insurance reform-nothing has happened.

Allstate even thumbed thier noses at the commision and was banned for a few weeks.

and to be honest I have not seen or heard anything positive from the governor.

while the state is going through very difficult times, he's off  following around McCain like a lost puppy.

im not too happy with Crist !

your thoughts?

Are you sure that is all he has done ? LOL @libosentic thinking ! Your “hatred” of prop one is based on / founded in the idea that our state government MUST spend whatever they want and if we do not give them every penny they ask for we are being “bad children”....when the fact is that per capita our tax base has grown while our cost to the government per capita has declined. The homestead exemption was not changed in over 40 years , so while our homes have grown in value by 600% our tax break has stayed the same , this hits the poor harder than any one ...but you are more concerned with defending a government that pays for things like “Hispanic month” and the 1.5 billion dollar “flagler beach beautification project”...you believe that our schools should be able to give money away to public TV while demanding more taxes from us , you support the idea that a “free education” is a RIGHT for anyone and not benefit of citizenship ...RE: one out of 4 students in Florida schools are children of illegal immigrants and to add insult to injury “poor English skills” costs 40% of our total school budget !

OK here is a dollar amount that this state has lost in review 91.2 billion..... Amend 1 has put the salt into the open wound. crist and I refuse to cap this liers name has done ZERO GOOD for Floriduh. He has done nothing to improve this state. It is clear he is a republican puppet. nothing more. He does get his crayola crayons out signs a few bills of little or value.

Then McCain wants to think about adding him as a vp? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! If he did get the vp role and McCain kicked the bucket crist would get the job of POTUS. you think Floriduh is in a bad shape?

Wait and see what he would do to the country.

Say no to crist in a big way. Email that loser and get the same vile crap I get when I write him about his lack of performance as a governor let alone a MAN.

Wow thorn. You really live in a fantasy world.

Bush and Cheney get kick backs from the war on terror?

You obviously have NO proof of that, and only your hatred of the President and the Republican party keeps you spewing your insane nonsense.

You sound just like FTP that was banned from here. I kinda think you are him.

Brit, Prop 1 was good for the homeowners of this state. The fact that the housing boom inflated the actual value of thier homes, was an unfair burden.
So the city governments lost revenue. Boo freaking hoo.
The more money they took in, the more they spent. It is thier own fault.

As for the Governor, he is not all powerful. He has tried to do everything he promised, but like the President, also has to deal with a body of individuals that can block every single thing he wants to do.

Also, like the President, he gets blamed for everything that is wrong, not the body of individuals that will work against him whenever they possibly can.

So easy to point the finger at one, and not the many.

Crist hasn't done much at all and has kept a low profile, to boot. I don't quite understand the hype over him.

I am a Republican, I voted for Crist, I am sorry I did. Does that answer it?

Charlie is a RINO..pure, plain and simple. I think MCCain should pass him up for VP...I really don't think we know all there is to know about Crist. I think the MoveOn and other lefty pundits could really dig up dirt on him if they have the $$$$$. I would be careful if I were Crist.

He seems okay to me, so far. Great tan. Wish he would change his position against offshore drilling & gay marriage. Strong against crime. We will see just how much of a tool he is when medical marijuana comes up sooner or later. I hope the rumors are true and he really is bi-sexual. There are some really smart Log Cabin Republicans.

I voted for Crist once, will not do it again. When he is up for re-election, I hope Al Sharpton moves to Florida and runs against him. At least Sharpton doesn't check to see which way the wind is blowing before making a decision.

If Crist doesn't get the VP position, perhaps he could be a spokesperson for a tanning oil company. He is obviously more concerned about his tan than he is the State of Florida.

mcsailor, Sharpton also does more to promote education than Crist does. Crist promotes ignorance and poverty. Al also wouldn't have to spend as much time working on his tan.

Big Government? Let's be for real. Government has increased in size under every governor and every president. It has never gotten smaller, demo or repu.

Gotcha...Old Charlie sneaked right up on you all didn't he. For those who think they won't suffer from Prop 1, you better think again. The typical republican strategy is to charge into something with both barrels blazing without researching the residual effects of policy is amongst us again.

Already, counties have plans to cut teachers, counselors, and other school workers. Also, class sizes will increase causing crowded class rooms and neglected students. In the Millennia generation, this is recipe for disaster, because of the Millennia people inability to accept discomfort and forfeiture of what they believe is their rights as individuals. They are not the same sacrificial lambs as the Baby-Boomers. Thus, it is predictable that there will be an increase in violence in our schools.

Another consequence will be higher divorce rates due to families’ inability to fill the financial gap cause by both the Bush administration and the residual burden cause by Charlie Crist policies. We are definitely going to crawl before we walk again in the state of Florida
