you just named most of them... you did forget

Bob Dylan - The Times They Are a-Changin'

and for a modern one:
Brighteyes - When the President Talks to God. Since noone on this community has probably heard it here's a video of it being played on Leno:

http://www.youtube.com/v/uuyhSE2SUNE

here's the words:
"When The President Talks To God"

When the president talks to God
Are the conversations brief or long?
Does he ask to rape our women’s' rights
And send poor farm kids off to die?
Does God suggest an oil hike
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Are the consonants all hard or soft?
Is he resolute all down the line?
Is every issue black or white?
Does what God say ever change his mind
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
Does he fake that drawl or merely nod?
Agree which convicts should be killed?
Where prisons should be built and filled?
Which voter fraud must be concealed
When the president talks to God?

When the president talks to God
I wonder which one plays the better cop
We should find some jobs. the ghetto's broke
No, they're lazy, George, I say we don't
Just give 'em more liquor stores and dirty coke
That's what God recommends

When the president talks to God
Do they drink near beer and go play golf
While they pick which countries to invade
Which Muslim souls still can be saved?
I guess god just calls a spade a spade
When the president talks to God

When the president talks to God
Does he ever think that maybe he's not?
That that voice is just inside his he

I like the Fair tax song.

All of the rest I can think of are songs with sentiments I don't agree with.

I've got some for you....

Enemy Within - The Right Brothers

Enemy Within
Sleeper cells right next door to us
Scheming, smiling, lying to our faces
Blending in just like they're one of us
While inside their hatred for us rages

Chorus
They've made it do or die
So it's time for us to fight
Time to fight the enemy within
Cause they're here between our shores
They're part of the global war
And it's time to fight the enemy within

Leftist judges, one-sided media
Giving voice to those who are trying to kill us
From the bench, in front of the camera
Giving aid and comfort to murderous villains

Chorus

Just because we're not all fighting over seas
Doesn' t mean we don't have a war to win
Against the enemy within

Stop Global Whining - The Right Brothers

Stop Global Whining
There's a crisis on the planet
It's heated up almost a whole degree
It hasn't been this hot in a long time
Not since the 16th Century
When there were no evil SUVs

Chorus
Stop Global Whining
It's up to you
The earth's been heating up and cooling back down
Since the day it started spinning 'round and 'round
Stop Global Whining
Get your head out of the clouds

His name is Al Gore, yeah he's a loser
He says the blame falls on me and you
He flies around in a private jet
While he tries to sell an inconvenient "truth"
Hey Al here's something you can do

Repeat Chorus
Maybe you should shut up Al
Cause every time you talk you're filling up the air
With carbon dioxide too
So if you really think that we'll become extinct
The best thing that you can do is

Repeat Chorus
Stop Global Whining
It's up to you
Stop Global Whining
I'm sick and tired of hearing you

This is a song about liberals that we can’t stand
If you don’t like it go write your own

But this is our song and this is our list
We apologize to the ones we missed
This is a song about liberals that we can’t stand

Shut Up and Teach - The Right Brothers

Shut Up and Teach
Nowhere in this textbook does it say Bush equals Hitler
Nowhere in this chapter does it claim we had it coming
No way in this room can you blame Capitalism
No way on this earth will I be swayed

Chorus
Shut up and teach
Don’t give a speech
Keep your political beliefs
All to yourself until the bell
Your job as far as I can tell
Doesn’t include indoctrination so could you please
Shut up and teach

I will not be force-fed any more of your liberal garbage
And I will not write down what’s on the board cause it’s so stupid
I can’t just sit back and ignore your biased grading
This is not what we all came here for

Repeat Chorus

It’s called a textbook, why don’t you read it
You’d be amazed at what you’d find inside
It’s nothing like what you’ve been feeding
I guess you must’ve thought we were blind

Just keep ranting while I sit in here with my recorder
I’ll see you at McDonald’s next school year and you can take my order
Cause you might lose your job if you can’t learn to stick to the curriculum
You had your say now I think it’s our turn

Repeat Chorus
Just show up, do your job, I know it sounds extreme

Bush Was Right - The Right Brothers

Bush Was Right
Freedom in Afghanistan, say goodbye Taliban
Free elections in Iraq, Saddam Hussein locked up
Osamas staying underground, Al Qaida now is finding out
America wont turn and run once the fighting has begun
Libya turns over nukes, Lebanese want freedom, too
Syria is forced to leave, dont you know that all this means

Chorus
Bush was right!
Bush was right!
Bush was right!

Democracy is on the way, hitting like a tidal wave
All over the middle east, dictators walk with shaky knees
Dont know what theyre gonna do,
their worst nightmare is coming true
They fear the domino effect, theyre all wondering whos next

Repeat Chorus

Ted Kennedy wrong!
Cindy Sheehan wrong!
France wrong!
Zell Miller right!

Economy is on the rise kicking into overdrive
Angry liberals can't believe it's cause of W's policies
Unemployment's staying down, Democrats are wondering how
Revenue is going up, can you say "Tax Cuts"

Repeat Chorus

Cheney was right, Condi was right,
Rummy was right, Blair was right
You were right, we were right, The Right was right and
Bush was right
You go that right
Bush was right

Overruled - The Right Brothers

Overruled
I guess some judges disagree with what The Constitution says
So they don their robes and twist the words into what they want instead
They make the laws, and ignore the laws
And use the bench to promote the cause

Chorus
These Judges are gonna be judged by the one and final Judge
And He’ll do the job that they refuse to do
‘Cause He knows what they’ve done, each and everyone
And in His court they’re gonna stand accused
They’ll all be overruled

They tie the hands of the NSA and protect the enemy
And ignore the rights of the victims so the guilty can go free
They’re dangerous, unscrupulous
And worst of all they’re changing us

I’ve had it, disgusted
I’m sick and tired of it
Why can’t we do something with all these judges playing God

Repeat Chorus

I KNEW this would kick up some political dust. I am neither a Nectar-Sipping Hippy nor a War Pig. I believe that any sensible person would prefer peace to war. And would understand that in order to remain sovereign, a nation's people must be prepared to use force when necessary and to use it effectively. That's all for the politics of the matter; now on to the appreciation of the songs which transcends the politics.

Nothing tops the shocking lyrics, chilling rhythms, and soul-shaking beats of Black Sabbath's "protest" songs from the late 60s/70s.

1) "Wicked World", Black Sabbath, "Black Sabbath" - "If you want our remorse/Tape your body to a corpse" sung in a sing-song infectious and hypnotic rhythm that you can't resist joining - chills running up and down your spine as you sing words you never imagined!

2) "War Pigs", Black Sabbath, "Paranoid" - "No more War Pigs have the power/Hand of God has struck the hour/Begging mercy for their sins/Satan laughing spreads his wings"

3) "Children of the Grave", Black Sabbath, "Master of Reality" - Awesome driving song! Expresses the tensions/fears of the Cold War with provocative lyrics and creative percussion that places you squarely into a post-nuclear war World. This song is preceded and followed by 2 short and very shweet instrumentals called "Embryo" and "Orchid" respectively. The 3 together represent Birth, Death/Total Self-Destruction, and the indestructible Immortality and Predominance of God/Nature/Life; Rebirth. Very cool progression.

4) "SuperTzar", Black Sabbath, "Sabotage" - An instrumental ... yeah

that's right. A KILLER instrumental that "says it all" in music (and some choral "instrumentation"). You can picture the Soviet processions of tanks and missile-launchers loaded with red-tipped nukes as well as the robotic soldiers marching in perfectly synchronized step as the music plays on.

5) "Thank God for the Bomb", Ozzy Osborne, "The Ultimate Sin" - Not really a "protest song". More of a pro-peace song by whatever means necessary - the silver-lining to the nuclear bomb; peace by threat of total annihilation.

You've gotta love the way Ozzy worked the TAMBORINE (sign of the times) into the heavy head-banging riffs that must have been played on Power Lines instead of guitar strings!
