Rumor has it (may be official by the time you read this) that Mel Martinez won't run for reelection in 2010.

I know he lost my support (and others) when he supported the amnesty bill for illegals!!

What Republican do you think will take his place and run?  Keller???

A woman in Deltona is suing the Supervisor of Elections because the ballot was not in English AND Spanish!!  The law only requires that if at least 5% of the population is hispanic.

We're not Kissimmee....yet!!!  Yes, I KNOW Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the US...that you are a citizen.  However, being a citizen, you should speak the language of the country!!   If you moved here from another county, the citizenship test is in ENGLISH!!!

If you want to vote, learn the language!!  Was the lawsuit in English or Spanish???  Ae YOU going to pay to have ballots printed in multiple languages???

This just burns me up!!!

Do you really know what is in the food you feed your dog???  I didn't until yesterday.  I thought we were feeding our dog pretty well (Purina and Science Diet) until I met someone yesterday that educated me!!

A website called dogfoodproject.com rates dog food by nutional value.  Purina got an "F", as did Science Diet!!!   It's like feeding your dog at McDonalds every day!!!

 The site gives you a simple, easy to read translation of what the ingredients really are, as well as a list of many dog foods that are good, like Canidae, Flint River and Innova.  It also has a store locator where you can find these foods.

The website does not appear to push or advertise any brand, just the facts for the foods you are buying.  Apparently, Science Diet, Purina, etc are often sold by vets, so they have a financial interest, or are just not trained in animal nutrition like they should be!!  Many of the "fillers" they use are by-products I won't even tell you what is really in them!!  Check out the website!!!

Personally, we are going to a store that sells the good food this weekend and changing our dogs diet today!!!

Look into the nutritional value of the food you are feeding your dog!!  It may be a bit more expensive, but I'm told you can normally feed your dog 1/2 as much because of the much higher nutritional value!  I'm also told your dog will have more energy and less medical problems!!!

B. Hussain Obama has already started buying votes for 2012!  He wants to GIVE college students $4000 per year towards tuition for 100 hours community service!!  Where I went to school, that's about $40 an hour!!!  I want that job!!

Add to that $4000 per student the cost of running the program!  Someone  to do the paperwork, record the hours worked, submit the paperwork.  The $4000 will easily cost us $8000 per student!!!

My mom taught me if you want something, WORK FOR IT!!  You will appreciate it more!  There are many scholarships and grants for deserving students.  They can serve their country for 4 years and EARN it!

Hold on to your wallets.  The give-aways have begun!!

Got this in an email last year...but still applies...  Please take one minute from your turkey and football to give thanks for those who are serving around the world protecting our freedom and their families.

THANKSGIVING PRAYER FOR OUR SOLDIERS

Today we gather around the dinner table with family and friends to share good food, warm laughter, and the happy memories of Thanksgivings past. But for many families, whose loved ones serve in the Armed Forces, this year's Thanksgiving celebration will not be complete.

A familiar voice will not be heard and a chair at the table will remain empty because, they have someone far from home serving our country.

Today also, members of the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coastguard (men and women, Active Duty, Reserve and National Guard alike) will gather in mess halls or in tents across the globe as friends and comrades to enjoy the traditional Thanksgiving meal.

So, as those of us who are blessed to be with our families celebrate and give thanks, let us remember in our prayers the homes that have an empty chair at the table and also offer a special prayer of thanksgiving and ask God’s Blessings for the brave men and women of our Armed Forces, whose service and sacrifice will, we further pray, make the world a better and safer place. And a very special prayer dear God, for those homes that have an empty chair that will forever remain vacant and for those servicemen and women who have come back to us, may their sacrifice not have been in vain.

I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it.

              How Long Do We Have?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the   University  of   Edinburgh  , had this to say about the fall of the  Athenian   Republic  some 2,000 years earlier:

' A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. '

' A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. '

' >From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship. '

' The average age of the world ' s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years '

' During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. from bondage to spiritual faith;

2. from spiritual faith to great courage;

3. from courage to liberty;

4. from liberty to abundance;

5. from abundance to complacency;

6. from complacency to apathy;

7. from apathy to dependence;

8. from dependence back into bondage '

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law,   St. Paul ,   Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000  Presidential election:

Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: ' In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare... ' Olson believes the   United States  is now somewhere between the ' complacency and apathy ' phase of Professor Tyler ' s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation ' s population already having reached the ' governmental dependency ' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal ' s and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the   USA  in fewer than five years.

Apparently there were NO problems with voting!!  I didn't see any stories on the news or the paper.  Since 2000, apparently any problems have be fixed!!!!

It's that, or the fact the Democrats won.  I wonder if the same could have been said if they lost???  Would we have seen more made up stories like we did in 200 and 2004?

OK...I know I'll be called everything from a racist to names I can't post here, but that's ok.  I've been called worse.

Anyone who has read by profile, probably knows how I feel about welfare.  Too many people take advantage or are just plain lazy.  So the question is, should those on welfare, who are NOT contributing to society, have a say in how we run things?   Should politicians promise to give those who don't contribute more and more of my money to get (buy) their votes???

Personally, I believe NO ONE should receive welfare for more than 3 years of the life!  Spread them out, take them all at once...but 3 years is MAX!!  During those 3 years, I'd propose free educational or vocational programs and daycare.  At the end of those 3 years, no more $$$!!!  You had been given your chance by society, we owe them nothing more.

Course that is never going to happen, but still, why should those who contribute nothing have a say in how things are run?

I would also stop any ballot being printed in any language but ENGLISH!  The citizenship test is in English, therefore, you must be able to read, write and understand the language.  No excuse for not understanding a ballot in English.

OK....I've had my Saturday morning rant and now return you to your regular programing.

Congress members such as Chuck Shumer and Diane Feinstein are gitty...already planning of taking away our right of freedom of speech by talking this week about how the (Un)Fairness Doctrine will soon be put into effect.

For those not aware, the (Un)Fairness" Doctrine, like unions, had its place one time in America.  It required news stations, who use to offer a political commentary near the end of its show, to provide equal time to an opposing point of view.  In a time pre-internet, this was extremly important!!!  (Funny how the left see Fox as bias, but CNN, MSNBC etc are not).

However, in an effort to silence people like Rush, Hannity, Boortz,  Savage etc., these anti-constitutionalist have expanded it to talk shows!!!

The main differences is talk radio is ENTERTAINMENT, NOT NEWS!!!  The left has attempted to have its own talk radio (Air America) in an open market...it failed!!!  No listeners, thus no advertisers.  Not being able to compete in an open market, they will use regulation to silence the other side.  With internet and thousands of sources to get your "NEWS",  you have options to a political commentary on your news program!  The   (Un)Fairness Doctrine  would require radio stations to PAY for the same time (out of pocket if they can't get advertising, which Air America proved they can't) for any opposing point of view!!!  Stations won't want to or be able to pay this out of pocket expense, so will eliminate all talk shows!!!!!!

Remember, the (Un)Fairness Doctrine is a REGULATION, NOT a law, by the FCC.  It has 5 members, 2 Republicans, 2 Democrats and one member appointed by the President.  As soon as that 5th member is appointed by Obama, you can bet the (Un)Fairness Doctrine will be quickly implemented by a 3-2 vote!!!!

So, when you can't compete in an open market and don't like free speech when it may talk bad about you, you use regulation to silence it!!  Welcome to the Socialist States of America!!!!!

You read it here first.  By 7 Nov 2009, the FCC will have impleted this polcy!!!! The question should be, what are Obama and the Democrats  afarid of?  What comments, opinions or truths would be so damaging that they will take away our right of freedom of speech?????

Since nothing has changed since 2000, you can once again bet that approximately 46,000 mostly Democrat "snowbirds" will vote both in Florida AND NY!!!

It is time for a National Voting Registration!!!!  It's time to stop this blatant cheating by the Democrats!!!

Of the 46,000 registered in both states, 68% are Democrats, 12% are Republicans and 16% didn't claim a party.

No questions about it...a quick google search and you will find Obama is against us from protecting ourselves!!!!!  He apparently wants US to become victims of crime or criminals ourselves!!!

You see, Obama wants to pass Federal legislation to stop states from issuing concealed weapons permits!!!  This puts my wife and I in DANGER!!!  Just look at the local news any given day.  How many murdered?  How many armed robberies?  Rapes??  Assaults???  No Walmart, CVS or Walgreens is safe, especially the parking lots at night!!

My wife and I protect ourselves against these thugs when eiither of us goes out by carring a concealed weapon, for which we have a permit!  Under Obama Law, we will no longer have that option legal.  And like many of you, I will STILL carry, making ME the criminal trying to protect MYSELF!!!

Get use to it.  If Obama gets in, this will be the first of many RIGHTS that will be taken from us!

OK...I guess I missed the memo...but exactly WHEN did a cell phone become a necessity, and not a luxury, that MY tax money is paying for so someone can have one????

I saw a commercial for SafeLink Wireless, advertisinig FREE CELL PHONES for if you are low-income, receive SSI, food stamps, etc.  I checked out the website, and sure enough, there it is!!!  You and I get to pay for cell phones for others!!!

So again, exactly when did they become a necessity?????  We already provide housing, give them tax refunds when they don't pay taxes (earned income credit),  welfare checks, etc, etc, etc....So when does it stop?????  Tennessee and Florida are the first states to provide this, with more being added.

Don't get me wrong...I don't mind giving a hand up (not a handout like the Libs enjoy), but really, WHEN DOES IT STOP???  I know hard working people that don't have/can't afford cell phones, yet their taxes are now paying for others to have them!!!!

Already referred to as a Nazi sympathizer by the Dems, now our own Fla Rep Alcee Hastings has said she is anti-black and anti-Jew because she supports the 2nd Amendment!!!!

The Dems love to say they are against mud-slinging and name calling, but it seems they are the experts in this area!!  It's nothing more than trying to use the race card to attack Sarah Palin!!!

Were those comments out of line?  Should Rep Hastings apologize???

Florida Rep. Alcee Hastings on Wednesday warned two minority groups to beware of Sarah Palin because “anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.”

Hastings, who is black and a Democrat, made the comment in Florida at a panel discussion hosted by the National Jewish Democratic Council. The group recently criticized Palin’s invitation to an anti-Iran rally held during Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinajad’s visit to New York to speak before the U.N. General Assembly.

Hastings was explaining what he intended to tell his Jewish constituents about the presidential race.

“If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention,” Hastings told the audience, which burst into laughter and applause, according to individuals present.

Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella declined to comment. The Republican Jewish Coalition strongly condemned Hastings’ statements.

“Rep. Hastings stooped to the worst kind of divisive politics yesterday,” RJC Executive Director Matt Brooks said in a written statement. “Hastings’ unconscionable remarks do nothing but sow seeds of fear and divide people. There should be no place in our country for this sort of political discourse. We can constructively disagree on the issues without denigrating others.”

Other members of the panel were Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen, who is Jewish and represents a mostly black district; Alabama congressman Artur Davis, who is black; and Peter Edelman, a law professor at Georgetown University who was a legislative assistant to Robert Kennedy.

Davis denounced Hastings’ comments.

“Alcee Hastings is a friend and I know Alcee well enough to know that he uses provocative humor to make a point. In this instance, however, I didn’t like his comments when I heard them and they don’t sound any better reading them in print,” he said in a written statement sent to FOXNews.com.

“I have repeatedly said that while Sarah Palin’s ideology and her thin resume are legitimate issues, it is a great mistake for Democrats to ridicule her cultural roots,” Davis added. “I don’t know how many Americans strip moose, but a lot of the ones I know tote guns and the Democratic Party had better win enough of those gun toters if we are to be successful.”

Hastings, a former federal judge, was impeached and removed from the bench in 1989 for perjury and corruption. Elected to Congress in 1992, he supported Hillary Clinton during the primaries until she conceded the race.

Historically, Jews have overwhelmingly voted Democratic, but the McCain campaign is vigorously courting that constituency as Obama has fought off false Internet rumors that he is a Muslim with an anti-Jewish agenda.

Obama also came under fire in April for describing small-town Americans during a closed San Francisco fundraiser as people who are “bitter” over job losses and who “cling to their guns and religion.”

Hastings’ office and the Obama campaign did not immediately respond for this story.

On vacation this week, so decided to take my grandkids (4 & 7) to see the 3D "Fly Me to the Moon" at Altamonte.  Unfortunately, it's the ONLY "G movie except for WALL-E, which is ONLY showing at Pleasure Island and I don't do Disney!!

Well, for the 3:15 show it still cost over $26 buck to get the 3 of us in (extra $2 each for 3D and no discount), then another $25 at the concession!!!!  Not that the grandkids are not worth it, but just reminded me why I haven't done a theater in years and years....and I haven't seen a 3D in decades (can't remember when).

Anyway, I must admit, the 3D technology of today is FANTASTIC!!  The granddaughters would occasionally stick their hands out thinking they could catch the fly, or duck when something came towards them.

Hats off to Pixar for the technology and having a "G" movie out that I could take the grandkids to, but very sad of the poor selection of decent shows you can take the little ones to!!

So, if you have kids in the 4-8 range and are weatlhy enough to go out to a movie, something I'd recommend!!  For me, unless (until) I take the grandkids again, I'll be happy to stay home and wait till the come out on video!!!

Some of you may have seen a recent post about the services for WWII Vet and Bataan death march survivor Stephen Raymond.  I will be attending those services with other members of the Patriot Guard at Bushnell National Cemetery on Sept 24th.

However, also on the 24th we will be attending services for  the many unclaimed veterans interred at FNC during the past year.  It is so sad.  Hundreds of veterans across the country are buried each year with no family or friends to claim the remains.  Many funeral homes across the country store countless urns of these veterans, and eventually turn them over to National Cemeteries for their final resting place.

If any teachers are out there reading this, what a GREAT History lesson!!!  Taking a class of civics or history students to Bushnell for the day, attending the services of a true American Hero, followed by services for the many forgotten heroes.

I've attended many services at Bushnell...if you don't get a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye (why do you think us ugly bikers wear sunglasses) with the sound of Taps with the flag blowing at half-staff in the breeze, you don't have American blood in your veins.

FlaNative

Born and raised in Tampa, I'm a 5th generation Fla Native and proud of it! My mom raised 6 of us by herself, in a time long before welfare and food stamps. She worked 3 jobs, which is probably where I learned my work ethic and my distain for people who are too lazy to work and "expect" their welfare checks and food stamps year after year, generation after generation! I spent over 20 years in the Air Force, going in during Viet Nam and leaving after Gulf 1, and have a son currently in the Army preparing for deployment to Iraq. The loves of my life are my wife, kids, grandkids and the Harley (not necessarily in that order, but don't tell the wife, kids or grandkids)!! When not working on my second "career", I ride with a group called the Patriot Guard (patriotguard.org), attending the funerals of our heros who gave their lives for our freedoms. Most in our organization use our "personal days" or "without pay" to attend with permission of the family, and are proud to do it!! This group started because of people such as those at Westboro Baptist "Church" who began protesting these funerals with signs such as "thank God for dead soliders". NEVER AGAIN!!! Yep, I'm a right wing, conservative redneck. I don't like people using abortion as birth control. I think the ACLU is the worst thing that ever happened to this great country. I think 99% of the lawyers give the rest of them a bad name. I promise that if you come into my house in the middle of the night you will be carried out and buried. I think no one should be on welfare for more than 2 years during their life I don't think I should have to pay to support your kids fathered by someone whose name you don't know. I think every county should have a jail just like the Sheriff in Maricopa County AZ with tents and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I don't care if what i say offends you. I think illegals should be put on a bus and taken back across the boarder. I don't think I should have to press 1 for English. I think you have the right to burn our flag, but I promise you won't be successful if I'm around and don't care if I get sent to jail while your left-wing, liberal, Michael Moore, Rosie, Alec Baldwin America haters cheer!!!! I will PROUDLY go to jail to protect HER!!! If we disagree here, that's fine. You have to right to be wrong. I don't take it personal and hope you don't either. Land of the free, BECAUSE of the brave...
