The center for studying health system change says roughly 20 percent of Americans have trouble keeping up with medical bills and with the cost of many everyday items on the rise that number could go up even more. Who should help people who can't afford treating potentially deadly diseases like cancer? The government, the private sector?

Hmmmmm, no answers. I think you are seeing what happens to a blog site when it isn't properly moderated. Even your most loyal fans eventually stop leaving messages. Please do something about this. The NEWS blog section is nothing but childish personal rants and attacks that have nothing to do with news.

I really want to stay.

P.S. Next time Tom or Heidi need to leave for a week can you try putting Christine V in as an anchor. Something tells me she'd be a riot at the job and we'd all have a blast. Besides...she's tiny. How much damage could she really do?

OK!! Then lets just do this full circle! I want the parents of children that refuse to annoculate their children to be fined, or otherwise banned from public schools! I also want the parent that have forged shot records to be criminally charged as well!

I also think we need to investigate the widespread fraud in medicaid/medicare! Fradulent payments made to doctors for example submitting bills for procedures on people that have been dead for years! Illegal immigrants sucking up our system's resources, etc.

You think Fannie/Freddie were a scam? Maybe its time to fire a few politicians that are allowing all this to happen! IOWs WAKE UP PEOPLE!! Stop crying about crooked politics when its YOU that continues to support the leadership that corrupts it!

Right on Abunai, they didn't need help buying plasmas, entertainment, cell phones, and all the other non essentials....take care of the fraud and we might be more sympathetic..

Health cost are high for several reasons:

1. Bottom feeding lawyers (Orlando has too many, but they buy a lot of ad time, don't they FOX). John Edwards is one of the worst in terms of suing the medical field.

2. Illegals. Go to any "emergency" room. Truely sick citizens are one out of ten, and the other nine are illegal sniffly nosed non-english speakers, with their sniffly nosed offspring.

Limit law suits and treatment for illegals, you'll see cost drop dramatically. Then we can all afford health care.

The pharmacy refused to change the info ,insurance was freaking out.Iunderstood why the clock was busted on Sandys wall.[fiancial asst.]The arrogance of these officals is amazing, anyway we found another pharmacy.

Pete yes, I have had surgery and I meant Plasma TV's...... you aren't that ingnorant are you?

My in-laws are in their 80's they go to the Doctor every week for something (only because the doctors tell them to come in) there blood workups are done all the time, they complain about a little headache or something and off the doctor sends them to have MRIs and CT, they complain of a little chest pain and OMG there they go off to the other specialists, it goes on and on and on...for nothing they are fine. Guess who pays? We do. More has been spent on them thru medicare than I will make in my lifetime. And they have the nerve to complain about the measly little 1200.00 they get every month from SS. Medicare works just fine...I can see how it works everyday and no one is lacking care.

First off as for being ignorant all I know is what you type-can't read minds try actually writing what you mean. Blood work tells many different aspects of many different conditions. For instance white blood cell count which can change on a daily bases, and are eccentual to health.I agree medicare does work ,but it has to be fought for and those who are truly ill are the least able [emotionally or physically ]to engage in this fight. In my case I'm not only on medicare ,but also on Social Insecurity disability 1200.00 is big bucks. Try half of that! And I've paid into this for over 35 years. Just out of curiousity.what kind of relationship doyou have with your inlaws ?Do you begrudge them this service?
