Stung by credit card costs, some gas stations are offering discounts if you pay with cash!!

Florida Law permits businesses, such as gas stations, to offer a discount to induce payment by cash, check, or other means not involving the use of a credit card, so long as it is offered to all prospective customers.  Look for the cash for gas promotions at you local gas station.

How do you like them apples?

I do not like them apples because I almost never pay cash.....I always use my debit card.

Is that why gas station owners gouge the consumer because most pay with a debit/credit card. I've seen a few instances in the last few weeks where I've gone by a gas station and seen two different prices within a half hour and no tanker within sight. Forget that, having to go inside, stand in line for five minutes just to save a few pennies. I'll keep using my debit/credit card.

LOL!!!!! Did no one see the Fox35 interview with a gas station owner who said his price at the pump (I believe it was $3.849 at the time) was EXACTLY what he was paying for the gasoline? So, he's expected to pay the credit card companies fees out of his OWN pocket so WE can conveniently use our debit/credit cards? LOL

(Sometimes I'm amazed at the level of abject arrogance of the American consumer, not to mention the abject illogic and stupidity of same.)

Yes, but did he tell you he is making 80% profit on his fountain drinks, and other wares in the store? he would not be in business if he wasnt making a profit somewhere, so no sympathy here.

You don't really get discounts and that BLEEP you were told about the credit card charges is a load of additional BLEEP! If they had all those charges to pay themselves then they wouldn't have the credit card option to pay with them! This is just another reason to charge more for themselves! I called my credit card business to varify this and this is a load of BLEEP! The only extra advantage the CC has is the interest charges you pay for on unpaid balances, otherwise any and all businesses would have already placed a ser charge on them just like they do for using ATM's!

I wonder how much it costed him to change the pumps? If he was so worried about all the expense then why did he jump to seperate the differences so quick?

Everyone should avoid from purchasing any gas from this guy...he is looking to make an even higher profit off this BLEEP!
