BOOTING GIVEN THE BOOT?

Imagine leaving your car in a parking lot for five minutes only to return and find a boot on it.

 

 

It's happening more and more to folks in private lots in Downtown Orlando and that is forcing the city to make some serious adjustments.

 

 

City leaders this week could vote to put the brakes on some of the questionable tactics being used by a particular towing company.

 

 

People who frequent downtown say that's a good idea.

I had a boot put on my car once and with a set of allen wrenches I disassembled the thing and left it in a pile of scrap metal.
All you need is a set (large) allen wrenches to remove the stupid things.
If there was adequate parking or EVERYONE then there wouldnt be a problem.

Parking is neither great downtown or where I live,the Beaches. I forsee "Parking Passes" similar to an E-Pass in our future. Which would really be a problem for someone not familiar with the areas incorporating this. City goverments really need to be careful on situations like this because if it becomes 'Inconvenient" to go to downtown, or the beach. Then people will find some other place to conduct their buisness or entertainment.

That particular towing company is notorious for booting and the city has done nothing about the myriad of complaints about them,.

as usual, they are doing something about it, but only after its been exposed by the media.

that particular compnay shold be bnanend for doing business in the city.
I read how difficult they also make it to get your car back demanding cash only.- what a bunch of shysters.

while the tow company is putting the boot on a vehicle, someone should sneak up and put a boot on the tow truck. sauce for the goose!

It might be interesting to check up and see if this towing company has made contributions to any local politicos.
