A Port Orange family says it's a miracle.

The risk was worth it they say.

The mother of a toddler took her son to China to undergo stem cell treatment says two months after the trip her sons eye sight IS improving.

She says his eye sight use to be 20/1200.. it's now rated at 20/200.

A handful of parents in Florida have taken their blind children to China to undergo this treatment.. treatment that is not done here due to stem cell -anything being controversial.

Wow..

what do you think?

I think it is truly awesome! I cannot imagine not being able to see and then suddenly having vision.

Great story!

I agree with toddt. I am sure some will state opposition because of where and how this is being done, however, even vision is taken for granted now a days. And no one can put a price on being able to see. I for one, am thankful for how far technology has come. And now that this is successful in China, it's only a matter of time before this procedure is brought to the US.

Elizabeth, great story by the way. Hopefully this story will bring the news needed to other families with the same situation and give them hope as well.

It is just amazing what doctors can do without the idiots in government wanting to stop them. To bad our government will not let our doctors do the research in stem cells and they had to go to China.
It is fantastic that the boy can see. I wish him well.

Politically correct and science are a conflict of interests...

Anyone wonder what the FDA position is on this procedure? LOL! Bring on the stem cells, fire up the incubators & get the clones growing.....whatever it takes. When I get old and need some replacement parts you can bet the wacko moralist we have here ain't gonna stop me.

JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF OUR GOVERNMENT DOING WHAT'S BEST FOR ITSELF, AND IT'S OWN AGENDA INSTEAD OF BEING THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE.

OUR GOVERNMENT DOES WHAT IT WANTS FOR ITSELF, AND MAKES UP LAWS BASED ON IT'S OWN SPECIAL INTERESTS.

THAT'S THE FACT JACK.

GOD BLESS THIS LITTLE KID.

I think this is great. My better half is legally blind due to optic nerve damaged. What we see at 20 feet they see at 200 feet. I would welcome the day that my other half would say.. let's go to China to see if they can make me see again. They gave up their driver's license in 1988 when they couldn't know longer pass the eye exam.

Ummm, wait a second. Does it say ANYWHERE whether or not the Stem Cells used were EMBRYONIC? You see, oh heathen morons of the left, the scientific community has been using harvested ADULT Stem Cells to cure or treat nearly 1,100 distinct ailments FOR YEARS. Only when EMBRYONIC stem cells, what the US Government and us religious nuts oppose, does the statistics shrink down to....umm...ZERO. Yup, that's right, NOTHING has been cured or healed by EMBRYONIC stem cell research, despite BILLIONS of private and govt (overseas) dollars being spent.

I want to know WHY they needed to go to China? If the answer is EMBRYONIC stem cells, and not the risk of the procedure and other concerns, then the score is 1,100 to 1.
