Just about every law enforcement agency is out on patrol setting up check points.. trying to catch drunk drivers and seat belt violators.

Does their presence make a difference in you desicion making??

Stay safe and stay smart this Memorial Day!

Police presence always makes a difference, in my opinion, but then we have those disrespectful idiots that have none for NO ONE..sad what's going on around this world today.

I must tell you, I headed towards Universal this weekend and I hardly saw any patrols on 417 either coming nor going........I HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL WEEKEND. I know I did..just lay back and enjoy time with family. LOL..

That's all they are worried about. The freakin' seat belt law. There are more pressing issues than worrying about some person not wearing a seat belt. You got murders, robberies, aggravated assaults drug dealers and all they worry about if a person is wearing a seat belt or not. The state of Florida is totally hypocritical about trying to save lives when motorcycle users don't have to wear a helmet. How many times do you hear that a person was killed because they weren't wearing a seat belt. Hear it all the time. But how many times do you hear a person was killed because they were wearing one. I take it when a person was killed and nothing is mentioned that he/she was/wasn't wearing one, that the person was wearing one. Kids under the age of 18 should be required to wear a seat belt. I'm all for trying to save lives, but like I said earlier there are more pressing issues.

Have you ever been to the Port, the Sheriff's sit there in the parking lots just lurking for a person to stop as they leave. Its so bad that most ppl now are avoiding that area and going elsewhere. If your there just for dinner then thats all fine and good, but if your looking to unwind and have a few drinks and dinner, it is not the place. Now if your out to get hammered you should be taking a cab to start with.

state trooper motorcycle cop gave me a seat belt ticket last weekend in my pickup 76.50. i asked him why the govt was so worried about my well being all of a sudden. they werent worried about me at all during my 20 year naval career or my 3 yrs in nam. he told me they were on a click it or ticket deal. so i asked him why i could have ten kids in the back of my truck or why 3 million kids in fla ride the school bus everyday when all of a sudden he told me to shut up or id go to jail, well i took the ticket to the court house and am demanding a jury trial, i might lose but if i do im telling the judge to sentence me for the fine since i refuse to pay. its not the money its now a matter of principle.if more pweople would do this and cost the state more than its worth maybe we would get more of the freedoms back that our kids dont even realize they have lost

Couldn't agree more stroke53. We have given up many of our rights in the name of safety. What a crock.
