To my surprise, Basketball and cycling  have higher injury rates than football.  That's according to Consumer Products Safety Commission.  And get this -- in terms of concussions doctors say cheerleading and autoracing are among the highest.  There are serious health risks if concussions go undetected!  Never given this one much thought and I fell off stunts plenty of time during my high school days!

Hard to believe soccor wasn't listed in top group. I do know that basketball is rough. My oldest son is facing knee replacement due to an injury he got in middle school while playing basketball.

Hi Scott4551! Don't know if you saw it in the story I did but soccer actually ranks number 4 in rate injuries. In 2004, less than 500,000 injuries were treated that were soccer-related. Hope your son's knee surgery goes well.!

Thank You Elizabeth. He has some time to go, but he will need all the luck he can get!

Tidally Winks is a scary one. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome! And flying winks can poke your eye! (Maybe that's why they call them "winks", hmmmm?)

I saw that story on the news, however where does lacrosse rank. I play lacrosse at Timber Creek High School, and it is very rough. I posted a blog on lacrosse in the news if you could tell me what you think about my blog. Thanks.
