The enemy has made a bold move in a direct assault against the name of Jesus Christ. The film, Hamlet II: Rock Me, Sexy Jesus, has definitely crossed the line of what is morally acceptable in our homes, churches, and communities. We all must take a stand to protect the name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Disrespecting His name must provoke us all to action. When I saw this film clip, I was insulted and appalled. This brazen assault by the enemy has compelled me to speak against this flagrant disregard of Jesus' name and character.
As some of you are aware, the above-referenced movie is scheduled for an August release date in the central Florida area. This particular movie is absolutely offensive as it defiles the name of Christ Jesus. It has NO literary value and it assaults and insults the heart and very fiber of its viewers that reverence the name, Jesus. A BLEEP-grabbing Jesus is blasphemous!
We are taking a stand and refusing to patronize any establishment that airs this inept and feeble attempt at “humor.” Boycotting and picketing is only a part of the answer. We are asking theaters to refuse to air movies that grieve the consciousness of its viewers! The enemy has gone too far!
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11: 12
We are taking a stand - will you?

“She Cheats”
As she was growing up into a young woman, all she observed was her mother bringing home different men and sleeping with them, even through her mother was married. In fact, she was conceived out of an adulterous affair.
Now, she’s married and cheating herself. Is she a product of her environment? Did she ask for this type of life? How many of us fall as victims to our circumstances? You see, no one chooses what family they prefer to be born in. But – we can choose to make the right choices. Committing adultery is a choice – just like choosing to become committed to one person for the rest of your life. The young woman did not choose her family and, furthermore, life was not all that fair to her. It is obvious that life had handed her some “lemons.” But, I heard someone once say, “If life hands you lemons, then make lemonade!”
In my opinion, if this young woman had chosen to allow her character to be developed under and through her circumstances, who knows what great potential might have been revealed? I believe great leaders are made out of trials and testing. Most times, because of our wrong choices, we make excuses to explain away our behavior, rather than allowing our circumstances to make us better.

The Bible, a Relevant Book: Past, Present, and Future
I was watching Oprah the other day and I’m not sure what the topic was, but the Bible was being discussed and some of the values that are written therein concerning the laws that we now live by that relate to scripture. One of the panel guest responded by saying the Bible was not relevant for today’s issues and that it was written and transcribed by men over the years. I wanted to jump through the television! I believe the Bible is the most relevant book of our times.
When I heard that statement, I could not help but to think about God and who He really is. The scriptures describe Him as being the beginning and the end, the first and the last. How can a book that was inspired by an almighty God, who knows the end from the beginning, not be written to cover all generations, past and present? It was this book that America based most of her principles. It’s only since we strayed away from these principles that we’ve seen a collapse in our society. With so many reality shows on the air, I wish they would show one with a family living in accordance with scripture, and one living without and see the outcome.
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Get Out of the Way
Who are you blaming for the marriage breaking up, the kids failing in school, or not getting the promotion? All of us are good at pointing the blame, but few of us can accept responsibility for our own actions. I have dealt with so many couples that are more concerned about who is right or changing the other person. But, I am finding it so much easier for individuals to get out of their own way. What I mean by that is change can NEVER begin until it begins with each individual changing themselves.
The other day, I tried to lift a piece of furniture just using one arm. Needless to say, it was too hard. It was too much work, so I cleverly decided to use my other arm, as well. Guess what. The furniture became easier to lift. Marriage to me is a lot like lifting that furniture. It’s team work! I needed both arms to do a successful job. Marriage is a lot of work, but imagine how much more can be done if done as a team (Get out of the way!).
One last thing, remember the woman in the bible who was in adultery and they brought her to Jesus? They wanted to stone her. Jesus simply said that those without sin cast the first stone. What I believe He was trying to do was to get them to look at themselves and they would then see the adulteress in a different way.
I remember driving down I-4. Suddenly, the traffic stopped. We could not move. Clearly, there was an accident and a car was blocking our flow. Minutes later, the way became clear and the traffic began to flow. Boy was I relieved! Well, I believe there may be things that are not flowing the way they should in your life. Make a decision today to get out of your own way!

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
What are you thinking about? I heard someone once say, “I may not be what I think I am, but what I think, I am.” Could your own thinking affect the outcome of your day? In a world of so many negativities, it is hard to keep a hopeful outlook and keep oneself from meditating on the wrong things. Your thinking can affect your self-esteem, motivation, or courage. Let today be the first day that you choose to allow your thoughts to change the direction of your day in a positive way.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, if the wrong thoughts could change our situations, we would never stop thinking them. They only add to make it worse. God’s truth stays the same no matter what the situation. In difficult times, one must remember who Jesus is and direct his thoughts to His strength, rather than one's own.
The bible teaches that His strength is made perfect in weakness. So today, make the decision to meditate on His strength because what you think, you become.
