Making the Rich Richer

On a construction site, during lunch, over 30 years ago; I sat beside my dad, on the ground, and listened while the other construction workers debated on how to disturb rich people's money. One said that he would take away all the wealth from all the rich and divide it among all the people. Another said that he would only take all the foreigners wealth and divide it because they were not American's, while even another said he would take all the money, cars, and expensive homes, sell them and then divide all the proceeds. My dad laughed out loud and said, "It wouldn't matter. You can take every penny they own, divide it equally among all the citizens in this country, giving everyone that exact same amount, and the rich would have it all back again within a year."

They all grunted and disagreed. He then continued;

"if you don't have the initiative to make the money, you certainly don't have the initiative to keep it. The first thing that everyone would do is go out and buy. You would fill you new homes with, new furniture, and new kitchen ware, and buy new cars for your new garages. You would buy all the stuff that you don't need, but always wanted, until every penny has been returned to its true owners. And after every penny is gone, you would have homes and cars that you could not afford, and then you would sell them at a much lower values until it was all gone. Then the rich would be even richer, and we would all be back here a year later, finishing this building."

So the government knows what they are talking about with this new stimulus package.

*Disturb* rich people's money? I didn't realize money could be disturbed. Until now, I always thought of it as an inanimate object, incapable of emotional response.

Sounds like those construction workers would've been staunch supporters of Communism.

Your father sounds like a wise man, and I agree with him completely. What's scary is, in my teen and young adult days, I wasn't much different from those workers. I despised the rich. I believed they held everyone else back, and any other negative stereotype that you typically hear about them. In short, I was a Liberal. Then I grew up.

If you ever want to achieve the same kind of success as the rich, you simply need to have the same kind of drive and desire they do. Anyone can be rich, you just have to work for it.

ANyone can be rich. I failed 8272 times but got up 8273 times and took $4000 and turned into a lot. I hire hundreds of people and will hire 3000 more. I buy things that hire more people. I give Hooters girls $100 tips... opps showing off.. I am all talk, sorry.

THe reason people arent rich and hate the rich is that they just dont have it. They dont have the perservence and in some cases dont have a clue where to start. Or they make decisions that make them stay in a rut. Or they make excuses and live in victim hood land and will never be happy and rich.

But Rich doesnt equal happy. Now I am happy and Rich because I understand what money is. I give a lot of it away and instead of buying a Ferrari, I help a school with books and teacher supplies (for example). I dont live beyond my means so that I am a slave to the money. I happened to get rich in coming up with a new product that is needed. ANd then I took that formula and did other things. I am no smarter than most but I just thought better and learned better.

I dont want to give my money to a tax structure that Marxist Michael Moore wants or that Hillary and Obama want to do that borders Socialism. At the same time the US has the highest taxes for business than 99 percent of all nations.

You get rich by coming up with something new and people who have continued to get rich now have the money to expand and make more... that creates other jobs and work.

Rich get richer but outside of Wills, most have come from somewhere lower than most think. I remember when I was making so liitle money that I
