We all know this info but most of us don't follow it

Water damage? What's the cpu box doing on the floor with all the dust bunnies and dog and cat fur in the first place?

If you keep your box off the floor and invest in a UPS ($50-60 to protect equipment worth $1500? -- sounds reasonable to me), you won't need the rest of your list. UPS devices contain line voltage conditioners and you can get them with ports for cable and telephone lines.

Put UPS's on your TVs and stereo systems too. Absolutely the best thing to come down the pike since sliced bread.

Not all UPS's have noise reduction. Be sure to get one if you are connecting a TV or Radio to it. They cost a little more, but you will appreciate the difference.
Also, they are battery packs. They have a lifespan you need to pay attention to.

The proper care and maintenance should always be applied to every and all equipment you use and that includes computers! If you don't use common since or proper care then you pay the piper. And if you just think you can have and use one just because everyone else does then it will become more of a headache without knowing the proper care and use!
