Terms for your Re-election: Dear Senator, Congressman, Governor, Presidential Candidate and others that want to be elected or re-elected. After reviewing your offer of $600 for my continued support I must say that you waited too long and offer too little. Although $600 seems like a lot if you’ve never had $600 before, and it might hold my interest through to the primaries, I’m going to need a lot more to get me to the November elections. How much more will be determined based from your 4 year review:

Fuel Costs: As you know fuel costs have increased significantly, what use to be $20 a week for me has doubled? This means I’m going to I will need an additional $1040 of my money back to purchase gasoline for my car.

Electricity: My electric bill has also increased by an average $80 a month. That would be $960 for the year.

Insurance: My home owners insurance has also doubled so I’m going to need another $800.

Clothing, electronics, and other merchandise: Since the manufacturing of consumer goods are made in China now, and the savings have never been passed on to me, and moreover, the taxes that would normally be collected on these goods where not, and they were collected on my middle-class labored wages. I am going to need some of that back as well.

The dollar has been devalued by 20%; this means that I lose twenty cents on the dollar, so I’m also going to require a 20% reduction on my federal taxes to off set the extra expense I incur because of it.

Finally there is a little matter regarding my health care. It has been brought to my attention that the President, all the Senators, Congressmen, Governors, aids, and all government workers, and their families have national healthcare but I do not. So my tax dollars are paying for your healthcare and not mine? You have until November 1st to explain why this is?

These are my terms. You have less than 11 months…GO!

Best regards,

Douglas Chick ( I )

Absolutely correct--Everyone should send the same letter to Washington.

Great blog! It's time that our "representatives" face reality. We have to.

I heard McCann say, "If it took the rest of his life, he will find Bin Ladin." I would rather he spend the next decade making America the strongest economy in the world again.

idiots...

Good blog Doug.
Health care, called National H.C. and now referred to as Universal H.C is really Social H.C.
Nothing wrong with the word 'Social' as from Kings to Plebs use the word frequently as in Social Security.
Those who can afford Health Insurance given by private companies are now joining the 40% plus w/out due to increased costs and dropped drugs and coverages.
Should this greed continue then NOBODY will have coverage because these sharks are making a killing from individuals and costing the taxpayers billions in force returns.
We should all pay a percentage of our earnings or investments and have peace of mind that we are not going to die due to lack of preventative or necessary medical help.
If the Politicians can vote themselves full medical, dental and optical and it works then we should be included except we will be paying a small fee subject to no opt out conditions.
Mr Chaney can vouch for having free medical on the taxpayer with his million dollar heart by-pass and the cost of the hunting accident.

Frankly, all I see them doing is saying anything to be elected, do nothing, be set for life with free tax payer retirement and healthcare. It is strange that they would fight so hard not to give you health care.

Military personnel get free heathcare also...should we take it away from them??

I agree we need to rework healthcare issues, mostly due to government regulations, but the cry for Socialized Healthcare is insane!!

If you look at the alleged 40 million without healthcare, you will find the overwhelming majority fall into one of three categories...

1. The 21-35 age group that can afford it, but chose to buy the BMW, big house, latest flat screen tv, etc, rather than buy heathcare.

2. Illegal aliens (yes, they are counted in that group)

3. People already receiving Medicade and Medicare. They count as uninsured.

So before we jump on the socialized healthcare bandwagon, lets find out the number of those that really cannot afford it, and authorized it, and are not receiving other medical benefits.
