Ex-Firefighter Pedophile Sent To Prison Today

Michael "Chance" Drennen, the ex-Volusia County Firefighter had his nasty, lecherous, sneaky, revolting, child-molesting fanny sent off to "The Big House" today!  Hopefully, thanks to one of "Charlie's New Laws," he'll  have to serve MOST of his 17 year sentence. He really deserved to die, in my opinion!  ALL CHILD MOLESTERS DO!             Hallelujah! He is one less pedophile who is on the streets, preying on innocent children. "Chance" used to be a VERY good friend of mine.  I know the children he molested VERY well, they are extremely dear to my heart! The 4 year old girl, and the 6 year old boy are slowly burying what he did to them into their subconscious memories. But they'll never really forget. Their Momma and Granddaddy tell me that they both suffer from nightmares, and have some difficulty trusting male-figures. Scarred for life, whether they realize it or not, by someone THEY loved, who CLAIMED to love them. How on Earth do you show a child love, by molesting them?

Chance, you rotten, stinking, lowdown piece of trash, I hope you realize there are people, like ME, who will NEVER forget what you did, and if you come out of prison alive (and I hope you don't!) we'll be waiting for you, BIG BOY!

...but how do you really feel about this guy Deb ? LOL This is why a never became a cop could you imagine having to take people like this to jail and having to get them their in one piece !

Well, RNC, they won't let me print it here, but if ya wanna meet me over at J.R.'s in DeLand sometime, I'll tell ya!
It's cases like this one that made me quit my job as a Victim's Advocate with the Sheriff's Office, and DeLand P.D. I started losing sleep,
and just couldn't "get over" the things I was seeing and hearing. It really hits ya in the gut when you KNOW the victims, like I do. It's
like it happened to your own babies, almost.

Can't come out most times but I will let you bend my ear at Bictoberfest if you come down this year...sorry to the victims , I know nothing makes it any better and the feeling that justice is served is a weak replacement for what is lost to a monster like this guy.
Hey Deb I never can get out but I will make the time if this guy get out early ! Would love to be standing there to “welcome” him back to society ...think he would like to go gator hunting ?

Nothing so glamorous...just the plight of being a single dad of a handicapped child, but it could be worse if I was married I would have even less time for me / my bike...LOL
I am often glad to live in such a small town , every one knows every one els that does not mean we all like each other but we do have a sense of community and we do not have as much trouble as “city-folk” who are so disconnected they get caught off guard by the guy living next door. If you move to my street I will be coming over to welcome you to the neighborhood (and have a good look at you) ...

Well, I read about this in the paper this morning. Discusting what he did to that little boy.
He only got 17 years, but with good behavior he could be out in less. Sick!

The case is still pending in the molestation of the 4 year old little girl. He will most likely get additional time for that. I hope it is tacked on in addition to the time he just got, and not just a concurrent sentence.

RNC, How much of a REAL MAN are you! Wow! That is TRULY IMPRESSIVE! Anyone can be a Father, but it takes someone REALLY SPECIAL to be a DADDY, and you've obviously earned that title! I live in a really, really small town, too! Not even a single traffic light, and everyone knows everyone, or knows OF them! LOL

pony up to what he did, (like he said he would, when they busted him) and take his punishment! I just hope the kids never have to lay eyes on his nasty azz again! He just turns my stomach, KNOWING the details of what he did!

This guy does not deserve to go to prison. He should have had his nuts cut off and then face a firing squad. I agree with RNC. "Sorry Sheriff, the perp tried to escape so I had to shoot him 18 times with my Glock".

I think this guy should have received life in prison. This guy not only was a child molester but one that was put in a position of trust in the community. He abused that trust and as a result he should be held accountable for that as well. This is truly revolting to hear about and even more disturbing when you think that there are more like him.

It's only becoming known now the true level of pedophiles found in places of responsibility. Every year more and more cops, firemen, clergy and teachers are being found responsible for these horrific crimes. It's not only men either, women are becoming more predominant as child molesters as well! So I guess if anything this shows you that overall the only person you can truly trust with your children is yourself.

I would like to see an article on just how many of these people get arrested and charged as opposed to how many of them get investigated and let go and end up being guilty in the end.

Good point Sage. When a person like that is finally brought to justice, there is usually many other offenses of the same nature that they have gotten away with.

That holds true with most criminals. In the case of crimes against children, it is far more heinous, but the repeat pattern is there just like all other criminals.

I would be willing to bet these two children were not the first ones he violated.

Sage and Frank, you're both absolutely correct, except, Sage one one point. Knowing what I do, and there is a HELLUVA lot more to this than what I can tell you, HE DESERVES TO DIE, for what he did. The "charges" are trumped WAY DOWN. He is a conniving, evil, piece of crap. This behavior of his, had indeed, been going on for a long, long time. If YOU knew what I know, Sage, you'd probably break down and cry. Frank would too. Then, you'd get really, really angry, like I am!

Having someone close to me that suffered molestation as a child I can tell you the effects in some form or fashion can last a lifetime. The perp in question spent a few years in jail then got out and did it again with another young girl. Same story, a few years in the slammer and back out. This old turd is living in Longwood and you know its only a matter of time till it happens again. I am normally pretty calm and even keeled but I now what he looks like and should our paths ever cross.....I better leave it at that.

Jim, absolutely! That's why I get so fired up whenever I hear about anyone hurting a child. I
actually quit my job as a Victim's Advocate, because THOSE cases were overtaking all the others. I couldn't sleep at night, I was afraid to leave my own kids alone for 2 seconds, I began to look at everyone with a child, or anyone who EVEN LOOKED at one of my kids as a threat. It wore me down, almost to the point of making me physically ill. That on top of having KNOWN a child who was murdered by a pedophile, while I was still young, and now someone who I once considered a friend hurting 2 babies I love? It never ends, and never will, as long as we let these sick SOB's walk out of jail; sooner or later, they all re offend!

Well, I certainly understand why you left that job. I know I could not handle it. You are right, I would be crying a lot!

But after that, I would be wanting to kill. An emotion I never want to experience. I am a Christian.

I guess it takes a special kind of person to be able to deal with that kind of horror, and leave it at the office when they go home to thier family. I could not.

THAT emotion is the main one that made me quit, Frank! It's not my nature to feel that way, and it was tearing me up. I'm a "Mostly sunny," "Glass 1/2 full," "Why should I worry? The birds don't!" kind of girl. It just went against my very being to be around, see, hear and feel all that pain all the time!
